This may be the smallest detail but I think having a host who loves 🎥s is an element that’ll shine through. I’m not saying some hosts aren’t but like if you’ve had a host like Patton Oswalt for the Oscars or globes he’d deliver laughs but would also get deep cuts. I think Koy is getting a lot of undeserved heat. First, that TSwift joke WAS funny. It may not be her fault that the NFL cut to her so much, but she can hardly feign ignorance as to why. Like, girl, look who you are! Second, even Howard Stern remarked that 10 days is not a lot of time to develop a monologue. He said Kimmel works on the Oscar's for 6 months. I think it's more telling that no one wanted to host the GGs and Koy was literally an 11th Hour get for them. It is a thankless job and people are so uptight nowadays. Maybe they just need to cut the roasting and just do a simple monologue extolling the films and tv series nominated and make the host just...i dunno, host? Do the monologue, Introduce the presenters, close out the show. Goodnight. Done.

I agree with most of this, it's really not his fault with that kind of time, but the heat, at least for him throwing the writers under the bus, is absolutely deserved. That's unprofessional bush league shit and it has no place at any major event, even the Globes which barely count.
The other thing is the Swift joke, that was the most obvious and boring ass joke that could be made about her. This isn't a fan defense, I don't care if he cracks jokes about her, but that was so low-hanging I don't see how it drew a smile from anyone.

I appreciate Kristian’s passion about the hosting gig, but I’m going to disagree about his biggest moment of his life. Joe sells out arenas and stadiums multiple times a weekend. He probably lost money doing the gig to begin with. If you listen to Segura, Kreischer, Burr, Mulaney they all say when they get an acting gig, they lose money. Unless they paid him millions, he probably just saw it as a new experience and didn’t take it seriously. And what were the viewing numbers? I personally, both at work and out of family/friends don’t know a single person that watched. Outside of the L.A. bubble, I’m not sure people really care.
This is not at a slight to you, Kristian, just how I’d interpret it. Also, I’ve been watching since the AMC days. I appreciate the hustle.

And I have to add since the OP mentioned about respect. Jokoy seemed star struck and for sure respected them and I saw a clip of him saying that he was honored to be the host of GG, but roasting was part of his job when he was hired. So did Gervais respect the Hollywood audience when he did his famous roast years ago? I kept hearing that Gervais did a good job exposing them so that means there was no respect at all.
Well, at least Jokoy has widened his reach with this snafu since he is the talk of those following Hollywood news and no one really talks about the winners. I am one of those who haven't heard of him.

So i blame the ones who wrote that script.. they left him to dry and blame for this. Jokoy is usually funny guy. this just wasnt his thing/gig to shine in. Plus the audience was one not take any punches. Not his typical audience he works with. Everyone is calling him " oh just another noboday'. cmon man.. like they were somebody before the became who they were... I am proud he tried and put himself out there.. everyone thinks he failed but it takes alot of guts to be up there . Yes, Jokoy shouldn’t have apologized and thrown other writers under the bus, but those were the only mistakes he made. His jokes were funny. The crowd was stiff,m. They’re a bunch of snowflakes who snubbed a host who they think wasn’t on their level.

I hadn't realized the channel was already up to 112K Subscribers [!] Congrats 👏🏼
I knew this was going to happen... I remember saying a while back that I thought the subscriber count would increase faster than it had previously [in the lead up to 100K] if 2 things occurred:
    1) He stuck with the UFO/UAP content, and
    2) They kept the one-sided, overly political commentary out of the conversation/content because the vast majority of people are just so sick and tired of it --- The people will flock to the channels that avoid it/keep it out because [sadly] it's still just so widespread & commonplace in the entertainment sphere, especially entertainment related/themed YT channels [critics, reviewers, news, informative etc]
I think Kristian has done a better job than most when it comes to trying to be fair & limiting that kind of stuff in his content... except for when it's called for & appropriate to do so --- and he is being rewarded for it!
The proof is in the numbers 💯

I’m kinda tired of the host roasting the actors hardcore? Why is that expected? Sometimes, even if the joke was funny, it winds up being cringe. Why not just have a classy event? Billy Crystal did jokes, but he often was having fun with the actors, not trying to crush them. I’m tired of the shots they take on the actors.

I didn't watch the golden globes, I don't even have cable television to watch, I've only seen clips here and there on social media.
What I'll say is that I love Jo Koy, I've seen just about every comedy special he's put out.
He's one of my favorite working comedians, but it's my opinion that he shouldn't have taken the job in the first place.
I get it. Money's money, a job is a job, and a paycheck is a paycheck, but I just feel like he was doomed to fail from the start.
    It was a no-win situation.
No matter what, I feel like there were going to be issues regardless.

Christopher Nolan for Heat 2 would be perfect, especially if it is a sequel and a prequel. But I don't think Nolan would dip into anyone else's IP. He probably has so many more original ideas or passions than Heat 2.

I watched the monologue and, although it wasn’t great, it was not that bad that the social media Swifty Fan Freak Army put it out to be.I think all this whooya about Jokoy being bad started after the Swifty joke about the NFL and TS not being amused by it. Her bemused snapshot signaled the Swifty Fan Freak Army to swoop down on lowly Jokoy. How dare he mess with their Mother Queern! As a side note: Jokoy tried to channel Gervais style, don’t-care-if-you-laugh-at-my-jokes-I-will-insult-you-and-berate-you-all-as-much-as-I-can-and-will-get-paid-6-figures-for-this-crap-gig-anyway kinda deal. But Gervais came out unscathed, why?, for the simple reason that he’s White, shining white.

Throwing writers under the bus is a bad move. But what does it matter that Taylor Swift didn’t like a joke at her expense and her fans don’t like. He’s done because if that? How? Why? And this is coming from somone who really like Taylor Swift. This is giving way too much consideration for the Twitter crowd.
And at the end if the day it’s the Golden Globes, not the Oscars. Bombing there isn’t the worst thing in the world. A Jo Koy special on Netflix has more respectability than the Golden Globes these days.
And I LIKE the Golden Globes.

It was nice to see Kieran win for Succession and finally be appreciated with what he did in that last season. When you're in something with Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong it's hard not to be overshadowed and the nuance to his performance in that last season was amazing. I love Pedro but they really diminish what his character is on the show vs the game and I feel if they made it closer to that he could've won. I enjoy the show for what it is (the game will always be superior) but on subsequent watches it feels more rushed in terms of the main story than that initial watch.

You have to do your research if your going to host these things. Especially if you aren't Ricky Gervais who will just brutally make fun of everyone regardless of seeing their movies. I agree with Rocha, had he leaned into it from a more... I don't want to say wholesome, but more engaging with the stars instead of against them, he may have been able to come off better. Like his Taylor Swift joke should have poked fun at the Angry Dude uproar over her at the Chief's games, it would have been topical and made the audience (and Taylor) laugh along with the joke. For example - "Why are all these dudes so angry about Taylor Swift being at Kansas City Chiefs games? It's like the one time their significant others are actually going to sit down and watch Football without complaining!" That joke would have killed with that crowd! Big missed opportunity for Jo Koy.

With Percy Jackson, I’d say that it’s gotten better as it’s gone along. Don’t begrudge Rocha for not being onboard after Ep 1 since I also had my issues with it. I’m fascinated with their process and the strong points of the adaptation of specific things thus far. My prediction is this show finishes strong, has good viewership overall and maybe even gets more people on the backend once all episodes are streaming 🤞🏼

Breaking even *_isn't_* an achievement for a movie whose first installment passed the billion dollar mark. I don't care about its speculative projections beforehand. I still say this second one has a possibility of turning in a profit. Imo Aquaman 1's writing & performances of some, left a lot to be desired; so why should those same audiences be more discerning about this sequel?

It's not like Majors was some unforgettable, groundbreaking, irreplaceable, villain lol. I would have been fine if they replaced him without him even being in trouble just based on his performance. That said, I don't think Kang should be the big bad. He's not an imposing villain on screen.
