Personally, that 1738 is miles above that VSOP. The VSOP taste very sour to me. I had both bottles. The VSOP took months of oxidation before it started to taste good but that’s just me.

    1738 wins every time IMO.

Very interesting! I feel like 1738 is just a name but different people like different things!

Both are made using grape from Grande Champagne & Petite Champagne Regions which make a difference VS say Hennessy.which i think uses grapes from all the regions in Cognac. Now also factor in the age of the Blends for each Bottle....Just an FYI ...I do not buy VS Cognac... VSOP & XO Only....2ndly why are you like downing the shots ???..... Sipping & Savoring is what Cognac is about....

Great information and sometimes I down my shots and sometimes I don't but the concept of my page is to let shot takers know what I feel and think about the cognacs/alcohol from my opinion. Hopefully it make sense to you what I am saying. Shots and conversation. I like to mix it up. Thanks for the comment!

Maybe it’s because I came up drinking Henny VS, but every VSOP I’ve tried (Remy, Henny, Dusse) just tastes syrupy sweet. 1738 hits the palate just a little bit cleaner for me.

Next time I try any of those I will definitely see if i can get the syrupy taste.

    Attention:
Just to let everyone know when I mentioned "Remy Martin" I was referring to VSOP. I know both are Remy Martin lol! Thanks for watching!
