Haha I am a professional in the HVACR trade for over 13 years, but I have some DIY projects I make videos on that are on my channel 😂 Thanks for watching🔧⚡️
Haha it really is 😂 They will be getting rid of this boiler room next year so let's make the most of it because my mortgage won't pay off itself 😂 Thanks for watching! 🔧⚡️
@peterking1134 Due to new laws for pollution and efficiency in NYC, they are getting rid of the natural gas. These boilers are for hot water in the building. They are going electric with some sort of tankless units. I'm not sure how they will do it exactly but they mentioned it to me. I think they Will need to setup a boiler outside of the building to connect to the existing piping to supply hot water while the room is torn apart and rebuilt
The manager of the hotel mentioned that they should just put me on payroll😂 I'm in this building multiple times every week. So often the employees think im employed there lol Thanks for watching! 🔧⚡️
You should be lucky to have a good assistant / college (don't know the right word for him), you do an amazing work and you assistant / college too, give him some compliments from time to time caus he deserves it if you ask me.
We gotta be related... Every time I start a project, it pretty much goes like this video... Good job, and especially tradesmanship. Do it right, even the little things.
That’s not a new pump that my friend is a rebuilt pump. But in all honesty that’s what the owner/ engineer should be doing in the summer pull out a couple to rebuild when demand on the system is low. I think it’s called maintenance, the strainers need to be removed and cleaned or at least drained and flushed like you did, I would sell them on the lower cost of “maintenance” then emergency replacement and down time! You would certainly need to bid correctly based on the amount of equipment not being serviced!
Man, that's a hard nut to crack. We can't even convince the old craps running my workplace to do our own regular maintenance. Also that's a rebuilt. The paint alone gives it away lol
Hey jumper man I looked at mine here and watched the first min and the 20th min of your video and I agree with some of the posters. I think the pump housing got swap around and is going the wrong way.
I am an retired maintenace man and have worked on commercial equipment. Have you thought about just replacing the pump seals? If the motor is electrical sound you could save your self some aggravation with the flanges. Have run into the same thing once or twice over the years.
Okay I may be a little special and dyslexic the motor spinning in the correct direction but the housing is 180° off flowing wrong direction through system? Between suction and discharge?
You need to find a new pump rebuild company my friend - what you had to do to make that pump work was not right on pump company - any way nice job getting it done
They really need to address the water treatment schedule to get the water quality better because if thats running through the units then its gonna be alot more problems not to mention they are cutting the equipment lifespan by a quarter or at least half which means alot more money going towards massive capital projects.
The original gaskets look like they were make out of material for air systems. If you are going to make onsite gaskets, you have to make sure your sheet material is conducive to application..👍
They had this as a spare in the building for this exact situation. The pump we removed, we replaced the mechanical seal on it and now that pump acts as a spare on site. Thanks for watching! 🔧⚡️
That's very shady what they put you through. I would've made sure they knew they that that's the last time you're spending that kind of money with them. I would even go as far as telling them every time that you're near that you're going to another supply house instead of theirs until they offer to make it right. I would even send them a link to the video so they can see it.
It really was a hassle. The old guages were rated for 100 PSI so I ordered the same ones. They definitely need to be replaced with ones rated for 200 PSI 💯
If the housing isnt itself leaking I just take the pump(motor) off. That fitment issue comes up all the time. I look into a small chain fall like under 500 lbs. there great for lifting stuff like that. They fit in your hand and you use a ratchet wrench. They need there water treatment look at!
That's really messed up that your tools got jacked from that building, and I would wager that the person who jacked your tools talks to you or knows who did it.
They had this new pump in the building as a spare to use in a situation like this. The pump we removed was rebuilt with a new seal kit and now they have that as a spare. Thanks for watching! 🔧⚡️
I'm all for replacing old with new but the truth is a seal kit would have fixed that pump in half a day. Do yourself and your customer a favor and get a spare shaft seal kit for each pump, nothing makes customers and techs happier than having a leak that can be immediately fixed.@@JumpermanTech
⚡️⚡️⚡️When working on an electrical circuit that has the potential to seriously shock or kill you, PLEASE confirm that the circuit is de-energised before touching with bare hands. It takes less than 20 seconds to verify when doing a motor changeover, but could safe your life!,
What do you mean you aren't getting paid???? Do you own your own company, work on commissions????.....im heavy commercial and industrial......im paid hourly....so i would've been paid for my time. I get the billing part to the customer. When 4,5,6 are together it means its a Wye.
They definitely don't do any maintenance or treat the water. Units are almost 20 years old. They will be replacing everything next year so until then, I will make the most of this place to get them running. Thanks for watching! 🔧⚡️
I can NOT believe a shop would rip you off on a pump. You need to start rebuilding and repairing your own. Fine a new shop who is more trustworthy or fix your own pump cores. You guys dont deserve the crap products that your getting.
I always believe that thing is done differently in developed country but clearly this video show in opposite.Thinking on how person in developed country make a harsh comment on how the do engineering work in India and Pakistan.
@williambreidenbach7255 I know who you are talking about and the shop has always got the job done and got what you need when you need it most. Unfortunately, this situation has happened. It was sad to have that happen as I been going to this shop for over a decade but this was the reality of what I had to deal with this specific pump. It was a real shame
that gasket restricting flow is probably what mudded up the system over time the new one will shove all that stuff out and through the system its gona need flushed something fierce

I have a kinda serious question. Why do most technicians buy cheaper diy grade tools. I only buy cheap tools if I don't use them often.
Mainly because they tend to grow legs and when they walk away it it isn't as a painful breakup.
I really like what you show. I changed large pumps much faster in Russia.😅 you, my friend, need to train. I have changed pumps that weigh many tons
