Rush is one of my favorites of all time but the Awesome BAND-MAID has overtaken all of my Classic Rock favorites. They easily have more songs on my playlists than any other band. And FROM NOW ON is right at the top for now. Peace. 2.14

The Maids opened for Guns N'Roses in Japan and this was their first song on their set list similiar to their Aftershock festival performance setlist. Band-Maid has figured out how to sound great on the big wide open venues.

Bandmaid have huge respect for reactors and their role. They say that they watch them a lot - so kanami may be watching you. They recognised several reactors in the crowd during the tour.

I witnessed this song performed in Tokyo as 12th song in the setlist and Band-Maid played it in 12 out of 13 US concerts as 8th to 11th. Most of the audience at those venues had, of course, already known their skills and talents. When I heard that they played this instrumental piece as opening at Saitama Super Arena on Nov.6 as support to Guns N' Roses, I felt very proud of them. Yeah! they showed off their skills and talents to GNR fans who did not know who the girls in maid outfit on the stage were. I felt as if I heard them screaming "Hey guys! Listen to us and open your eyes wide! We are not the persons that you think ! Salute us!" 😄 Thanks from B-M's homeland 有難う💛

I have been listening to rock since the late 1950's and no group has excited me the way Band Maid has. They have become the perfect musical group in my opinion, with the wizard of composition in Kanami Tono, lyrics and vocals that are magic from Miku Kobato and Saiki Atsumi, the incredible bass tones of Misa Misa Misa and the titanic drumming and band leading from Akane Hirose. They all seem to get better with every new song and performance. My most fervent wish on my bucket list is to see them on their home turf in Japan, along with Wagakki Band, SCANDAL, Nemophila, Doll$$Box and at least one of The Ventures tribute bands that are around. I've come a long way from hearing The 5, 6, 7, 8's all those years ago.

@@mikeat2637 Thank you. In my case Band-Maid and BABYMETAL are making my retired life colorful. I witnessed Band-Maid concert held at Tokyo Garden Theater on Jan.9. The hefty sound and undulation caused by blasting Misa and seismic Akane resonated with the bones in my whole body. And Miku, Kanami and Saiki kicked my ass. I had been a big fan of old jazz / funk and Tower Of Power used to be my most favorite musicians. I like TOP still but 7 girls from B-M and BM are the best for me now. I feel honored that these artists were born in my homeland.

I'm glad you found this and reacted. I'm crazy about this Band Maid piece. I put this up there in "prog". I'm of the Yes, Rush, ELP, Genesis, King Crimson tradition so I'm not adverse to long instrumental stretches at all. To me From Now On belongs in there with those sorts of groups. I'm also an old heavy metal and rock guy so this music gives a visceral response more so than an intellectual one. It fills both categories nicely for me.
By the way, I have ALL the Rush releases and some boots too. I really enjoy your Band Maid reactions. If you buy this ep the video disc has this on it.
Begin the day with a friendly voice . . .

. . . all this machinery making modern music can still be open-hearted. I think of that lyric as they set up the stage.
We were got snippets of "from now on" way back in the spring when they were teasing the U.S. tour. When they played it at Download nobody knew it's name. The record came out and they played it in the U.S. Now the video is official and on youtube. I hope it gets a million views as fast as Sense did. People need to hear it. It's brilliant.

Many of us just recently saw Band-Maid play “From Now On” live. OMNG! Kanami riffed her ass off. And the BPM’s matched the DB's! 😶‍🌫Thx, Brad!

Oh, now come on -- who would want to see Misa? Well, there's every man breathing (and most that aren't). Now, let's list band Maid's flaws: (a) Lack of technical ability? No; (b) Lack of creativity? No; (c) Lack of creative compositional talent? Uh...No; (d) Radiant beauty? Uh...this may take a while. I'll get back to you. You may want to have your PC handy...or a good, long novel....

A serious question. Do you prefer Misa with the bangs...........or the part in the middle hair style............asking for a friend, lol

You know, when I'm listening to their music I'm paying little to no attention to how they look or even that they are women. I remember once in a reaction i realized how beautiful she was for real, but thay was pretty far into my dive. Sadly I wish it was virtue signaling, but i think the fact of the matter is that I'm getting too old to care. 😊

    • @mikeat2637

@@BradPoynter Works for me, I pretty much feel the same way you do, I'm too old to care what anyone thinks. And my question had my togue planted firmly in my cheek, lol. I really enjoy your reactions. As one of the older fans, I feel that Band Maid has personally lifted hard rock out of it's semiconscious state (at least here in the US) and given it new life. And they aren't the only ones contributing, just look at Nemophila, Gacharic Spin, Li-sa-X Band and the real veteran Japanese rockers, SCANDAL, who have been around for 16 years and are still kicking butt with new music. You should check them out, two of their better songs are Harukaze and Shunkan Sentimental. I think you will enjoy them. They are like...........if The Bangles and The Go Go's had a baby with Steve Miller.
