  • It can be a bit trick to get your car parked perfectly in a tight garage. Too close to the front and there's no space to move. Too far back and the door won't close. Fortunately the Striker garage parking sensor has you covered with its easy install and easy functionality. Just look for the red light, as Dave Taylor of www.AskDaveTaylor.com/ explains and demonstrates!

Hey guys. I mod mine with an external 6vdc power and it works but after showing the red light for 15 seconds, it keeps flashing green forever. Has this happen to you?

Great video. I have a green, yellow and stop light system. But it doesn’t allow for “set”. I think Mine is a foot. But I really like this one.

¿No hanging tennis ball? I have no garage. I have a backup cam. I like to back in. Everywhere. If it is too much trouble to back in. Then backing out is not going to any easier.

Great video! Quick question, is the signal light on a timer or is it on until you move your car back from the sensor?

I no longer have this unit to test, but I'm 90% sure that it's on until you move your car back. 🤓

Didn't need it past the testing phase. I've got a deep garage and a small car 🙂

Can I mount this outside in the driveway?

I'm unsure, actually. I guess you could try it, just not sure how impervious to weather the unit is since it's designed to be indoors.

im working with mere inches..need something else

It's perfectly great or "mere inches"...It is accurate to where you set it every time. The batteries are an issue with mine. I ended up putting a 6 volt dollar store big block flash light battery....the one with the "springs" on the top. I used a set of alligator clips to attach them to the battery and the back of the sensor.

Just mod'd mine with a power jack and external 6 VDC wall wart so it is feed from the wall/ac. Also disabled the "walkway" light that I really didn't need in my set-up. Cheap tech that works. Ordering another for our other vehicle.

I was thinking and looking, but everything I found needed power etc.
How about mounting a mirror at 45 degrees facing down (you can get cheap lightweight plastic ones on eBay), you could then paint a stop line on the floor!

My garage is very small. My car is huge. I was gonna buy one of these but I found an easier way of parking precisely.
Get your car into position in the garage, place a piece of carpet on the wall by the drivers door, open the drivers door onto the carpet and mark a line down the door edge onto the carpet.
Every time I back in, I open the door to see if it’s on the black line, if it is, I can close the garage door, just.
Works for me and I just saved 24.99 plus I guess a load of batteries.
      Great little demonstration though👍

Rick Edwards Hello, can I ask how you hook up a 6v battery?

@@FloresJonners If you have an AC outlet nearby, it also has a USB power port.

Is that based on you buying one and finding it didn't work for you? Or just a random criticism?
