Agreed, I’m getting shit from my mates for playing my DiMarzio swapped PGMM31 ($200 Ibanez) and we all have fancy $2000+ MIJ Ibanezs but its just got such a nice sound and plays suprisingly well and easy. Idk mini guitars kickass
I remember back in the day my chem and Hawthorne Heights would play epiphone les Paul’s. It was awesome to be like I can afford that and famous musicians play the same thing.
Frank is such a chill dude. Ran into him in ‘07 project revolution Detroit, walking though the parking lot. Chatted with him for about 15mins and got his signature. So down to earth.
thats amazing! i love him but i'd think that he wouldnt spend 15 minutes talking to a random person, but things like these makes me think that he's such a nice and chill dude and not cocky at all
I’m 16 now and I’m getting so into guitar because of listening to my chem, but frank and ray are the main inspirations. Also other rock bands I have listened to since I was small, but I’m just now starting to listen to every part of the music
I would recommend some of my inspirations but you can hear them all at once in my music. Check some of my guitar works at george chronas - premier which is available on my bandcamp... you are probably around 19 and more advanced now so I would recommend also my most recent release George Chronas Fusique and the rational sequence of events- rapid change of a scenery
Hearing him play makes me so happy, like with how much he puts into it and how he thinks about it all. I'm still learning guitar and I'm a *long* way from getting anything coherent and concrete I guess but this motivated me so much. He's such an inspiration and influence💛
Not going to lie, not a fan of the group. But this was a GREAT Rig Rundown because dude is so into the gear. I appreciate the riffs he threw down, and the stories about how things were acquired. Thank you.
Yesterday I was trying to play resurrectionist for the first time and now I feel like I NEED to learn how to play it. Nevermind if I have a huge test tomorrow it's showtime
frank is genuinely my biggest inspo for helping my find my guitar passion five years ago!! i couldn’t be more grateful to him for sparking ly biggest love :)
I got a guitar at 15 and never learn to play it and honestly this is so cool and interesting I’m kinda hating my teen self for never really getting on it
The amount you put into it is the amount you'll get out of it. Learn your chords and scales. I've been playing 25 years and I still practice my scales and modes every single day.
Coming back to watch this after past lives was released and hearing that riff from blender near the end was like fucking whiplash. Makes me wonder if any of the other unidentifiable guitar parts he's played in interviews like this will ever make it into anything
Holy shit, did he buy that baritone from The Rock Shop in WEM? I used to go in and play that exact guitar. Was sad when it wasn't there anymore and I always wondered where it found its home. Crazy.
"broken in the best way possible" is a wonderful thing to hear as someone who wants to play and therefore is trawling through these kinds of videos cause I wanna be able to play but at the same time I have 0 money for gear
Finally got to see MCR again (after twelve long years) this past September. Frank pulled out a white Gibson LP Custom (I presume the same one in this video) and it made my little emo guitarist heart big happy
the Klon hype is real! theres a GREAT imitation of it for about $40 you can get on Amazon. As far as in a live setting the difference is almost unnoticeable.
This squier jazzmaster baritone is just a Killer Instrument. It's a shame that Fender / Squier does Not manufacture/sales it anymore. Especially since Bands like Loathe have such a deep impact in the scene with those Kind of guitars
Swollen Pickle Posse. We role deep, and silent. Most people I hear online talk shit about it. But it is capable of so many sounds, and they're all REALLY good. You have to consider it a 7 knob pedal to really get what you want. I think people buy it, plug it in, and jam, and maybe they don't get exactly what they want. But it is a complex, interactive pedal where all knobs effect all other knobs. So spend some time with it, and tweak it, open it up, and get at those other two knobs. And don't believe everything you hear, even from George Tripp, as depending on your version, the knobs may work in reverse fashion. If your eyes are rolling, move on. But if you're into the deep ones, and taking deep dives, having a relationship, check out that Swollen Pickle. Honestly, I think its name is too much, and has doomed it. But it really is amazing sounding, and SO versatile. (To the point I want to own like 4 of them, so I can access all the different sounds on stage.)
I bought one a while back specifically because of Frank, I really need to sit down with it and figure it out a little better xD I can't really tell if I like it better as a fuzz pedal or a really hot distortion
Solid amp collection. See a lot of players that seem to put thought into everything but the amps they use, - which is funny, - since this is as important to the base sound and feel as the pickups in the guitar. Don't have much good to say about the band, but it's still interesting to see how different guitarists do their thing.

I love that he’s using a Squier and an Epiphone. It’s cool to see someone who cares more about the tone and feel than the name on the headstock.

Any les Paul with gibsonnpickups r the best tone imo they just sound so fat and good
Yup, top end epiphone (specially japanese models) sound better than a USA Gibson, even if the gibson price is around 2x than the top end epiphone
I remember back in the day my chem and Hawthorne Heights would play epiphone les Paul’s. It was awesome to be like I can afford that and famous musicians play the same thing.
Yeah but he has TWO klons. That’s a flex on a flex

I got so shocked to see Frank say he played 13s in MCR, goddamn the tiny man got strong hands lol

Frank playing that Les Paul is so nostalgic omg
Anyone else get a glimmer of hope when he said My Chem in present tense at 42:49?
Hope turned into reality.
Why did I know when that Les Paul came out that he’d play something from MCR😂
Haha me too. Something at the back of my mind knew that was coming.
