- hey man can you wait 2 secs while I generate threat on this pull? - sure buddy! In the meantime I will get that other pack over here. - ok tha- no wait!!!
i feel like the statue often makes it more difficult, like when the mobs are spread and not all of them are in range of the aoe taunt (which is just 10 yrds), it also generates so little threat that anyone casting a heal or spell will get aggro instead and then the mobs already walk everywhere. if works well on single stacked groups otherwise its not really a solution. using sal salabims and dragonfire brew has helped but its still really really hard to group effectively with monk without losing aggro, like 1. precast bof 2. spinning crane 3. roll in 4. try to get the group close together quick for a kegsmash 5. now if you want to pull the next group you can try to juggle spinning crane, breath of fire and blackout kick while getting good tags when you shouldnt use more than 1-2 globals per group. then when you are about to stack them together, probably you have no kegsmash charges left or miss some slow ones with the first kegsmash, and then you have no charges left. pulling groups from afar with cjl is a joke meanwhile on my dh i have 1. throw glaive as instant cast with threat modifier 2. sigil of flame with full range 3. immolation aura which actually generates good threat passively and then when grouped all i do is to press fel devastation and i snapped aggro on everything with 1 button
As of today i start practicing on the BM, never tanked before and immediatly you post this after i was freaking out that i couldn't get/hold aggro... As if you heard me struggle 😅
I always wanted to utilize the Ox Statue and now there’s an effective way thanks to you. Probably needs a lot of practice though ngl. But hey thats what brewmaster is all about.
I've been having massive threat issues with a warrior tank in raid. Do you have any tips for this? I feel like I'm actually dps'ing ok but but just does so much more dps spamming shield spam that even after I taunt as soon as it wears off I lose the boss.
I also use the Statue Taunt to keep threat but I do both in one macro. My macros remove my statue when i use Keg Smash/Blackout Kick (or whatever else seems good for this) because the problem that i ran into with doing it the normal way was, that when there was already a statue placed and i wanted to move it somewhere else and use taunt, the macro taunted the old statue at the old location before placing the new one.
Wowhead doesnt really talk about it but the Refracting Aggression Module is OP on pull. 2.2 mil overshield every minute, its like having a free 3x chi celestial brew. You can also make a macro to track the ICD of the trinket too until sha adds it to the weakaura pack
Hey Sha, I know I'm really late to the party on this one, but is there a reason you use the mod macros over just changing the keybinds on one of the 8 action bars to say "alt F" or "shift 4"?
i just did a dungeon +10 with a brewmaster, who had full vers/crit and i swear brother the guy was pulling 1mill dps on every pull. it was insane i dont really know how he did it
I was on windwalker and getting out DPS by the brewmaster often. I had him on the overall dungeon by a couple hundred thousand but there were many packs he was over a million on too. Need to figure that out lol.
Do you have any thoughts about making an in depth brewmaster guide? I’ve been playing prot warrior on an alt, but my main is a Monk and I would love to get more comfortable with Brew. They just feel a lot weaker than prot Warrior right now, but I also think a big part is that I don’t fully understand the spec.
Great video. Definitely useful for most players having threat issues. Imagine a world where Blizzard just nuclear buffs tank threat and reduces every other class threat when they’re not tanks. What a world that would be.
Is it though? Dungeon slice sims 34k less for me, and single target is 28k less without scalding. In reality it is about the same, or sometimes even better in heavy AoE with Salsa. That is with 4P. I also feel that dropping scalding is a major QoL, and it is a lot easier to make sure you have fire applied to everything at all times as you can only apply it every 15 sec with scalding. So my experience is that Salsa is generally better, as it is very hard to get the full value of scalding which kinda eats up the difference as soon as you mess up a little.
@@lecrab8090 Ignoring the single target but okey. Simmed again vs 10 sustained targets, difference being about 50k, in my case a 3-4% difference. So you do a little more damage under ideal conditions, but as soon as that is not the case, it's no longer more. Example, you use your fire breath on a boss, adds spawn in. You now do not have fire on those so you do not get the bonus damage. In addition to that, you do not get the damage reduction either. Or You pull multiple packs, and then you either have to gather them up before you can fire breath, or fire breath early and only get some of them. Both reducing the over all bonus damage and damage reduction. You could hold fire breath, but that also reduces the value. In my opinion, the damage difference is too small to be worth it, and you are very likely to not get the full value out of it in reality.
best tips for brewmaster tanks is simple not playing brewmaster! just switchto warri like i did. struggled in +8 with monk, rushing +10 with warri. i love the char, but its simply not playable for "normal" players
