after having an eddie be an overly confident or an overly aggressive person in the comics, its nice to see an eddie who does have his resentments but also just seems like a normal laidback bro most of the time
Its not actually Knull but the Klyntar (not to be confused with the planet though that is where Venom is being pulled to) aka the Agents of the Cosmos that keep Knull imprisoned. Back during when Flash had the symbiote in 616 they called for the symbiote to heal it from the corruption accumulated on Earth, restoring it to how it was when Peter and Eddie. (As multiple factors like forcibly absorbing it's evil clone to save humanity, bonding to Mac Gargan, etc. had utterly twisted it and bonding to Flash while helping was not enough)

They have a complicated history, and both admit fault that their relationship is where it is (even the symbiote admits it, though it has better excuses). Spider-man at least knows now that all Venom ever did to him was expose him to the darker part of himself while he gave it hope it could be something more than what Knull made it be; while at the same time, accepting that it was his fault for putting Brock in a bad position with his job, even if he was just doing it to survive. They've reached a point of amnesty, which given their long history, is a miracle. They don't want to ruin that. More interaction would have been nice but it's understandable that they're keeping distance and maintaining professionalism. They at least both value Hunter in this continuity and don't want to ruin their relationship with them since they get them so well.

I gotta jump back into this game, and download the DLC. Absolutely loved my time with it. Eddie Brock looks perfect, really hoping he's similar to this in Insomniacs universe when he's introduced. One of my top 3 favorite Marvel characters.
Live Action Eddie Brock and Venom with Tom Brady are just fine because they are Venom without Spider-Man, which was frankly a very original idea at the time. Eddie Brock in the Midnight Suns is however the Eddie Brock people know the best, and it's always good to see him.
