In the summer of 84' at the age of 13 I saved almost every penny I made working as a deck hand on a charter fishing boat just to buy a leather jacket, pants and boots to go as Mad Max for Halloween that year.

I had the great fortune of being 17 years of age, living in Melbourne and seeing this movie at a drive in.
This is a great review, the parallels with the spaghetti western heroes is excellent. Thank you.

Thank you. That must've been really cool to see this classic at release. I wish I had experienced that too.

I remember when it first came out on DVD, and you could watch it with the original voice tract. I was like That's what Mel Gibson actually sounded Like? His Aussi accent was so strong.

Yeah honestly I only found out it was orginally dubbed in the US when working on this video. I was like wtf is this 🤣 can't imagine watching Mad Max without Mels original accent.

Man, Mad Max (1979) was good, now that I'm more mature I enjoy these movies a lot more than the current ones

This timeless classic is explained in this respectful video. This movie and the second really set the bar for action films to come. Thankyou for making this.

Thank you. I agree, the Original Mad Max trilogy is by far my favorite. Mel Gibson was perfect for that role.
