Hi. My husband and myself have followed you from the very beginnings of your RUclips channel and have watched you develop into a first class RUclipsr. We are both approaching our 80th birthday now and have mobility issues but have spent a lifetime in the lakes and still caravan there frequently. Unfortunately we can no longer walk the fells as we used to but because of your adventures in the mountains we feel as though we can still enjoy the fells, except its now from the comfort of our armchairs lol. So thank you for all your great videos and look forward to seeing your walks well into the future. Our valley of choice is Ullswater area and look forward to bumping into you there one of these fine days. A big thank you from both of us. Kind regards from two admirers.
Thank you for your lovely message Joyce. Means a lot 🙏🏻. Sounds like you have spent many happy days in the Lake District and it makes me happy to think that my videos evoke memories of these times. Best regards to you guys and take care 🙏🏻 Dave
Behave, you 😆. It was too warm climbing up to the ledge. Took it off and left it lower down and, more importantly, picked it up on the way down. I’m not daft you know 🥴😁👍
My goodness…that descent down from Sca Fell 😮 I was up Red Pike last Saturday & thought my scree path down was scary. Certainly don’t fancy the descent you did! Still brilliant to watch. Tea and cake was my reward.
You are in my back yard! I live in calderbridge and go up there with the dogs and camp. Brilliant video as ever! It’s been nippy up here the last few days. Thanks for sharing
Just brilliant. My most memorable night in the mountains. Video captures the beauty perfectly mate. Just two things you couldn’t capture - the slog up (bloody hard work, need to get up to your fitness, impressive!) and the laughs we had. Brilliant company, brilliant trip. Thanks Dave ⛰️
Very enjoyable viewing, you have taken me along an area I have walked several times, it’s a beautiful part of the Lake District. That was a nice view of the stars from the tent, which incidentally blended in well with the surroundings. I wish I lived nearer to the Lakes, but must try to get up there in April or May. Thanks Dave
Hey Dave that was a great video. Very enjoyable. I'm going to try and make a trip to the mountains pretty soon. I want to catch the beginnings of spring before it gets too hot. Well you have a great one my friend and I will see you on the next adventure. Dwayne
I need to get my Allak 2 out of the bag never mind out in the hills! Had it 2 years now and it’s still in the loft 😮 I always end up using my Akto instead. Good to see you in yours though and to know it’s worth the weight penalty. Great video without the pretentious rubbish others are putting out. Keep it up 👍🏼
Fantastic camp Dave, and the views up in the Mountains were Majestic! Thank you for taking us along with you, I really enjoyed the trek, views, waterfalls and scenery! Take care of yourself! ⛺️👣🏔🦉👍😎
This looked a great camp and another top video capturing fantastic scenery. Good to see you out and about in the Lakes again. Those night shots were brilliant. You may have done this route before but everyone of your films is unique..be it the different weather or things that you point out along the way. Would love to see how Olans chair should look like, fully put up...compared to how you use it🤣🤣 That could be a whole video on its own😄 Sure your mate gained from your experience of that area..just as we all do Thanks again Dave for sharing 👍
This has honestly blown me away. Heading out for my first wild camp may 15th and it’s going to be a good one. Amazing video. Is there a list for what kit you use? Camera you’re using etc?
I’m with you mate , If you can get out of the wind to pitch I will always do it . I’ve had a few crap sleeps of late too , feel worse by morning 😂. I own the trekker chair but never used it as it seems a fath , but you have given me an idea on how to use it now 👍 atb Dave
Brilliant Dave👌🏻…how did I guess wrong 😂…should have known you’d head for your beloved Scarfells. I need to do Slight side so great learning curve for me👌🏻 Thanks for sharing, stay safe J
Crikey , comments - you're making me really jealous Dave. I wish I had your confidence to do these wild camps , I'm ok with walking and scrambling in a group up there. But , not on my own - anyway great video as always - and as the cloud lifted... wow !! You are making a freshly made redundant man happy.👍😊
Yet again another brilliant video Dave. I’d love to wander around Eskdale but it’s an extra hour for me to get there and as I drive for a living I can’t be bothered at the moment but hopefully I’ll retire next year and be able to spend some time getting to know it. I start most of my walks in Borrowdale which sit too shabby is it. I got a Trekker chair last year and it’s one of my best buys, no more sitting forward knackering my back. Keep them coming, you’re the best and I really mean that.
Big thanks for your kind words T 🙏🏻. Know what you mean about the trek to Eskdale but it’s worth it if you have time. Good luck with your retirement too 🙏🏻
You'll need a seasonal pitch near the scafells soon Dave 🤣 Ace that you're getting to spend so much time there and of course share your knowledge with friends ☺️ Hope you're well mate, Adge
Great vid Dave it might be good to know weight of rucksack distant walked ascent/descent of your hikes just to gauge what may be achievable for us newbies , cheers Atb Nigel.
There's bits of the Lakes I don't know and would like someone to show me - just saying! 😀 But seriously, Linda and I were up that way a couple of years ago when she tripped on a rock between Scafell and Slightside. Cut her head open (now a scar) and we had a long worrying trip back to the car. Once the shock wore off she was fine but just shows you need to be careful. On the plus side the A&E doctor was impressed with my bandaging skills! We both failed the "guess where I am" quiz this week. You really are showing the beauty (majesty?) of the Lakes off in your videos, itching to get back up there. Thanks for sharing.
Definitely need to do that route and explore myself. It's been years since I was on Scafel . That ledge was a great viewpoint too. . . . . . Nice one Dave 💪
Epic video yet again Dave. Lovely to see your enthusiasm sparked off by Simon’s enjoyment of the trip. I’m still wondering how heavy / light your pack is. Take care.
Great video pal thanks for taking us with you. Folk like me getting on a bit now with dodgy knees may not ever get back up here again 😢 Is that a Darren accent by the way, not sure if I’ve asked before?
Hi Dave. Looks like an excellent camp. Always look forward to your videos! One question: I am looking for an outdoor watch. Which one do you use? Regards Gary K.
09:45 Hi Dave, really enjoy watching your videos. Your videos in the Lake District are amazing and have inspired me to get back there next month. I hope you don’t mind me asking this, I really like the black Berghaus hoodie you wear in many of your videos. Could you please let me know the name of it and where you got it from. Cheers and all the best. Melvyn Holmes
Hi , great to follow you on your wild camps , so inspiring, and so great to watch. I was in the lakedistrict last weekend, just for a taste of its beauty, and kind of planning my next walk /hike etc .Keep up the great videos.By the way is that a Solo Mountaineer hat? ....if so , do you sell them ?
Great video mate have you got any idea where I could purchase a great tent mate and gear really wanna start this up but not sure on what price I am looking at for decent tent and stuff
Cheers Gareth. That’s such a broad ranging question I’m really struggling to answer it in a simple straightforward way. Have a look at my recent Q&A video. It might help 👍
Do you you drive over hard knot pass when you do these camps. If so what’s that drive like. Never done and have always been a bit nervous of doing it. Cheers. Love the videos 👍🏻
I take the Birker Fell route. The passes are ok but when you get to the Little Langdale end it’s an absolute nightmare. Single track, high hedges, few passing places.

Errr, Mr Solo, you appear to have lost your coat between 20:49 - 20.54! 😂 I hope it didn't suffer the same fate as your Marvel buff... x

Spectacular cinematic experience my friend, your composition and creativity are just spectacular here. 🔥
Really appreciate that. ATB 🙏🏻
Beautiful place for a hike and wild camp. It looks like a beautiful day. Such a wonderful hike. Lovely drone footage.😉👍👍

Cheers Graeham. Yeah, it can be tricky especially with those packs. ATB and
