I know a lot of people may feel that it's not worth it, because you can customize most cars to perform like this for a lot less. However, there are lots of smaller details that make everything work that can only come from Dodge. The engineers at Dodge put a lot of time into making this a package that works with a full warranty, which makes it all worth the money.
I could get a '70 Road Runner and a Viper for that. Sure it's fast, though. Nice color. Reminds me of the Verdoro Green on the '68-'69 GTO. It's not that these new cars are overpriced, it's that the world is getting ahead of itself and nobody can afford its own generation cars anymore like it used to be. People have to be famous on social media or celebrities to afford all the cars ever, now. Even a great job is only enough for one or two cars, but with the need to build them up. I got my special car for now. Proud to at least be apart of the car community in general with cool '68 Pontiac.

I’ve been in one and driven it, and it’s definitely not worth $100,000. You’re paying for the engine and a little bit of custom interior but a lot of the interior and body just feels cheap. I would say it’s worth $80,000 which is the MSRP before dealers started marking up prices when it first came out.
Just going off of specs and claims made. Obviously didn’t get the chance to see what we could do. However you look at it, it’s really an impressive car.

Worth the $100K price tag? No way. It’s cool that a factory had the guts to build the car but as a drag car it is way too heavy and the electronics, such as the trans brand are pretty much useless for real world racing. You could buy a 2018 (same year as the Demon) Mustang GT and smoke the Demon some basic bolts ons such as either a blower or turbo kit, a few basic fuel system upgrades, a rear tire and a few suspension upgrades. All in you could easily build it for around $50K which is about 1/2 the cost of the Demon. Oh, and you could run the Mustang on pump E85 which is a fraction of the cost of the race fuel the Demon requires.
BTW, the Demon can’t beat ANY of the cars you listed in the street. It requires a professional level radial tire (max glue) prepped track surface to hook. Anything less than this and the car just smokes the rear tires. The car is the ultimate marketing gimmick.
Oh, and there has not been one single bone stock Demon that has run the claimed 9.65 ET. And “banned by the NHRA” because it is too fast? More marketing BS. The car can run flat out at ANY drag strip, including NHRA tracks. IF the car were to run 9.99 or quicker the track could require a roll cage be added to the car and the driver get a competition license. If you run 10,0 or slower (with a helmet and a fire jacket) you can race all day long. This isn’t an issue as few cars/drivers have fun their cars below 10.0.
