Jean Valjean can adapt to any situation. After all, he has adamantium bones, heals rapidly and even has retractable claws coming out of his knuckles. So why would you think he needs to breathe in order to sing?
11 years later from this video, I saw him live at Broadway doing this very show. The guy is just amazing! What a performance along Sutton Foster! 👏🏻 👏🏻
Took my grands to see him in The Music Man. They loved it. Their reaction was priceless when they realize that he’s behind the newspaper and has been on stage the whole time during the opening number. They jumped out of their seats. They were so excited.😂
I think the reason people love Hugh, besides just because he's a lovely human being, is because he simply loves/lives to perform. Loved the man from the first scene in Corelli, his debut role on Australian TV!
Louise Crystal Is Mr. Hill just a bang beat bell-ringin', big haul, great go, neck-or-nothin, rip roarin' every time-a-bull's-eye salesman? (I got Marian at my school... I got the script right next to me in fact.)
I did things just like they when I was between 10 and 14! Memorized musicals and comedy albums. At least a dozen and a half! But I was never in a situation to try out for anything. We didn't have theater programs in my schools. I did it just for the fun of it and it did make me a pretty good public speaker.
Orlando Bloom also got into acting because of girls, and consequently the two main roles he is remembered for, Legolas and Will Turner, have made him quite the feminine heartthrob. ^_^
***** Or a doggone thing. He's just a bang-beat, bell-ringing, big-haul, great-go, neck-or-nothing, rip-roarin', every-time-a bull's-eye salesman. That's Professor Harold Hill, Harold Hill.
A spontaneous talent with an unforced masculinity who has more talent than anyone else on the horizon. Mr. Hugh Jackman is a bright shining talent who can stand up to legendary performers of any era. MAGNIFICENT!
How can you not love this guy. Can pretty much play anything, does musical theatre as well as acting, drop-dead gorgeous, fabulous sense of humour, happily married for 18 years, a dad of two. Other actors must hate it when vying for the same role as HJ.
I know this post was 2 years ago but they asked him to be the phantom, but he was working on a mother movie so Gerard Butler was next it line to be phantom
Benedict Cumberbatch would have been a better 2nd choice Phantom . Gerard Butler wasn't very convincing as the Phantom. The ladies will probably disagree because they are too busy swooning over him
Kid he still had an amazing voice though. I guess to me he tried to be the sexy phantom when we needed more of the creepy phantom. So, in my opinion Hugh Hackman would have been a better sexy phantom, but we still need that creepiness. Okay I just did a HS play on phantom, so I know the difference between sexy and creepy because they had two phantoms (because it’s tiring for one phantom to sing four days) and one was “sexier” while the other was “creepier”
I just saw him play Harold Hill on the Broadway production of The Music Man and I feel like my wildest dreams collaborated with Hugh Jackman’s. It was a thrill for both of us.
Who needs breathing? Not him...!

Holy fuck, he transformed in Eminem.
Please it's not.. f-ing rap...rap sucks ASS...this is musical theater.
@@johncreighton908 Rap isn't that bad, some songs are actually good but most are just mumbling and flexing. doesnt suck ass but isnt perfect.

@@johncreighton908I take it you’re not a huge fan of Hamilton?
Everyone else: he’s perfect...

11 years later from this video, I saw him live at Broadway doing this very show. The guy is just amazing! What a performance along Sutton Foster! 👏🏻 👏🏻
I literally saw the show tonight. It was incredible. He and Sutton had such chemistry.
Well, not "tonight" but the 2 pm show. Still, incredible.
I took my granddaughters to see this with Hugh Jackman. He is insanely talented! Sutton Foster was pretty good too 😉.

Is anyone else really excited see him in The Music Man now? Because I am!!! 😁
I love him 😊
honestly just there because he will play Scar in the Lion King

WOW!!! What an amazing man!!!!!
so fun, so cool, so cute. love this play and song
BARS FOR DAYS!!!!!!
I have to know, what part did he get? I would've given him the lead just based on that.
Thumbs up for the drummer too.
If you watch more then one interview in a row.... He tells a different story of how he got into theatre every time..
Seen many, it's the same story. Other stories are of how he got into different shit, this was his first musical experience, he told it many times
My first high school musical was Music Man
Where rap was born! :D
Wolverine spittin bars!
Nice love 💙💛💜❤️
How about a music man remake directed by Wes Anderson starring either Hugh or Lin Manuel Miranda
Freaking watching this in study hall trying not to laugh
Who knew Meredith Wilson was a rapper?
Well now he’s gonna do it 😂
Hahaha seems to me that he knows the territory
2:08 AYYYY!

Hugh doing Harold Hill in The Music Man. And now it will happen.......

I just watched the Video of Daniel Radcliffe doing the alphabet rap. Now I want to see Daniel and Hugh do a rap battle. :D
He's an Aussie.

This is probably why hes gonna be playing Harold Hill in the Broadway revival of this musical.
Omg really

I love that Hugh Jackman got into musicals because girls
Can't blame him it was the only way to get into contact with girls in his time.

Next video: Hugh Jackman has discovered he doesn't need oxygen and now lives under the sea.
If they do a revival of "The Music Man," I want to see Hugh Jackman play Harold Hill.
ALL the parts!
Emily Holasek YES!
Disney did a revival, a few years ago, with Matthew Broderick as Harold Hill. Not his fault, but it was utterly wretched.
It's happening.
Check his twitter account or fb.
They are! He just announced it on his social media!
Hugh is phenomenally talented, drop dead gorgeous! The most perfect human specimen. No one even comes close...LUV HIM!
Firework hs
Have you seen pictures of him walking his daughter to school? He's just perfect.
Yes I totally agree 😍😍😍
Exactly
He thought a wolverine was a breed of wolf.
Almost a superb as me!
I never knew that he was an EXCELLENT singer. This man has true talent.
Well he did star in Les Miserables.
He's won 2 Tony Awards. You should see Hugh in Oklahoma! His voice there is so beautiful and he's really charming.
.
Justin Russo Actually according to WytZox1 it's not rap it's "Patter". Probably the same thing either way.
He was actually cast as Wolverine because the director was impressed with the fight choreography he did in a West End production of Oklahoma
"Teddy that's good" I'M DYING XD and this is adorable
But he doesn't know the territory!!!
What's the fella's line?
Doesn't worry 'bout his line.

Who else is looking up this reference in Deadpool & Wolverine?
You’ll miss it if you dont catch that reference!!
😂😂😂😂😂
If they remake that movie with him in it, I will watch it.
Oh god. Please, Hollywood not another forced trilogy. Leave The Music Man alone.
I won't
Same! Even though they did a remake with Matthew Broderick and Kristin Chenoweth.
Wolf Gear same
He'd be perfect. See ya later Matthew Boredrick.
(Just a thought) I think Hugh Jackman would make an awesome Phantom (from The Phantom of the Opera) I wonder why they didn't chose him for the movie.😕

He was the first choice I believe. Funnily enough, Anne Hathaway was the first choice for Christine too.
"But HE DOESN'T KNOW THE TERRITORY !!" "PARDON ME, BUT I DIDN'T CATCH YOUR NAME." "I NEVER DROPPED IT !" (HAROLD HILL)
This was Robert Preston's role, on B'Way & in the film. Nobody can touch him !!!
I'm so excited to play Zaneeta in my show but he made Rock Island sexy.
Whattaya talk, whattaya talk, whattaya talk, whattaya talk....

Australia. They produce the most talented men.
And cricketers too
I'm a senior in high school and this is our Spring Musical! I'm playing Harold Hill! :)
Congrats
We're doing music man in like 3 weeks
We're literally about to do The Music Man this weekend. I, too, am the great PROFESSOR Hill! :D
