Upload speeds are for hosting servers. Web, game, etc.
For gaming, it helps to have a higher upload to get host advantage when playing Peer to peer games.
Its not really a massive requirement though.
Generally for gaming you only need about 1-2 Mbps per gamer using the net in your home.
Even download speeds aren't to important, 10 Mbps per gamer is probably a nice start, although you can do with less.
What is important is the way the router is filtering and sending traffic, aka how it's traffic shaping.

I am thrilled with mine. Before the Verizon 5g home internet, I was using a T-mobile phone as a hot spot. I got about 10mbps for the first day or two of my billing cycle, then got 600kbps for the rest of the month. The only other option was Hughes satellite. The speed with the Verizon 5g is all over the place. The lowest I have seen is 20, the highest is 350. It is almost always over 200. Whatever, 5 is enough to stream hp video, and I live alone. Total for my 5g phone and home internet is $95.00/month.

    • @AviatorsGarage
      @AviatorsGarage  Год назад

Not sure what you mean? 5G goes through tall homes in major cities which means it goes through one’s body (wether you use it or not). If you’ve been on a commercial airline- you’ve been exposed to 5G. There is really no hiding from it in todays current technological age. As far as the box- it uses this signal and gives my home internet via Verizon’s 5G network (that has existed for the last year in my area - there for, all persons in my area are having 5G go throughout their homes (and bodies) and living their lives normally. I just chose to try out this service and save over $275 a month from switching from Xfinity. My current performance has stayed consistently above 300mbps.
I haven’t grown a tail - yet, but if I do, I will make a video about it. Thank you for the comment!

lol Saw Part 1 and was wondering where Part 2 was and then bam today it appears in my recommended. Thanks for the video!
I'm expecting my Verizon 5g gateway tomorrow and super excited. I have cable internet right now at home and though the speeds always show great of 500+ Mbps I notice that it isn't constant so playing video games lag and streaming constantly adjusts between 720/1080 and 4k while I live alone. I have spent years complaining but they just come out and say speeds are fine. I think the lines are just super old and there is too much noise. Then one night, last week, I decided to use my hotspot on my cell phone to play games and though I was only getting 25Mbps (as my phone only gets 4g) I actually had way better results lol.
I have Verizon Unlimited and so I'm getting this for $25 per month and I think its a cheap enough price to add my house to compare for a bit and see if I can drop this cable internet which is $110 per month.
I also see you uploaded part 3... :-)

Ya buddy! Thank you for the comment! Part 4 will be coming as well. As for now I’m averaging about 280-340 mbps. It’s been holding up pretty well minus a glitch here and there. Please let us all know how it holds up in gaming! I’m super curious!

@@AviatorsGarage Got my Verizon gateway last night was able to hook up and use no problems. Already getting 240-300 mbps. I played for about an hour of gaming and I was having no problems and no lag at all. I think I have become a Verizon fan after last night. I plan to continue testing for a few more week until I get rid of my cable internet but things do look promising.
I also streamed HBO GO for another hour and the only thing I could notice negative, if really any, is that it maybe took literally and extra 2 seconds to load the video but once it was going I had no change in resolution or buffering like I saw with my cable internet.
I know the say unlimited but curious how much this holds up to unlimited fast speeds. With last night gaming/streaming I used about 15 gigs so I will continue to use and see how it holds up after 150+ gigs of use.

For those blaming the Verizon 5g cube Is causing the slow speeds I highly doubt it. I think It has more to do with Verizon towers, your best bet is to call Verizon and let them know speeds are slow that happened to me too until I call them and the sent my ticket to technical support. After a few days I noticed my speeds became more consistent and more stable. I want to think they looked into my problem with the speeds and did something to the tower off course I'm just speculating.

My Verizon 5G will be arriving today so I can check it out and compare it to my Gigablast through Cox Cable.
When it comes to gaming ping and latency is extremely important. The lower the ping means no lagging (rubber banding).

I think you will have a much better experience if you get a mesh wifi system that has wired backhaul capabilities. Especially since you have a 2 story home. In my house i was having signal degredation since the routes was on one end of the house but now with just 2 APs that are wired together, it is seamless when roaming the house, no need to choose which router im connecting to, the system just chooses the one with better signal. I think since you already have ethernet cables run, all you would need to do is get creative about the placement. Most APS have 2 port for the network signal and another to supply a device (which could be a switch). I appreciate your videos, I am for sure going to give Verizon a shot when my stint of travel for work is over so i can be home to test it.
