Very nice video! Looking forward to seeing more content on your day-to-day roastery work and evolution! Very good coffee btw, glad Palmier carries your beans but my wish is to be able to come grab my orders directly at your place!
Congratulations on purchasing this roaster! I'm sure you will produce some tasty beans with that beauty of a machine! You inspire me to someday take the leap of faith and go from home roaster to commercial roaster! 🙏
6:11 "a little more caramel, which some people prefer." Hit the nail on the head for us Probat lovers. It'll be interesting to hear what sort of feedback you receive for the transition as a lot of people identify Loring roasters as their favorite. Wishing you all the best with your investment 👍
Thank you. We’re going to be working with other respected pros and loring consultants to transfer profiles and also continually improve what we are already very very proud of.
As a roaster I really appreciate content like this. I’m also roasting on an IR-12. I would really love to hear your thoughts on how the move to the Loring goes, what kind of nuances you end up achieving that you couldn’t find on the Diedrich. Thanks and congrats!
Thank you! These tend to be less viral than other videos I make but these are some of my favourite videos to create. Will be reporting back on Loring experiences in the months and years to come.
It's so cool that you're taking us on your roasting journey, Kyle! Thanks for this explanation and great to see that you're thinking about sustainability as well. Keep it up, man!
I have the pleasure of living in the same city where Diego Bermúdez has his farm and produces all his coffees, but his coffee is in such high demand that it is impossible to buy a few grams of any of his coffees. I only tasted one once thanks to a fair, but since then it's impossible to taste a cup of what it produces.
Kyle carrying a bunch of buckets over his shoulder is just epic. I'm so excited for you! This is so exciting and I can't wait to see what you do with coffees on the Loring.
Definitely want to see more behind the scenes and content about this roaster. And other things that go along with it. I’d even be interesting seeing how you ship orders lol.
Hey Kyle, thanks for the video ! After 3 months, are you happy with your new roaster ? Did you manage to double the production as expected ? I am a roaster currently using a Diedrich 12kg but interested to know if a Loring would be worth it. Many thanks for your feedback !
We’ve been able to double producer in less than the same time. Diedrichs can be quick but we only used 50% capacity and had a 15min BBP to ensure we didn’t create unwanted defects we found were common with this roaster
@@KyleRowsell Thanks for the quick answer ! So basically you were charging your Diedrich at 6kg max, and now your Loring at 7 ? And how long is your BBP with the Loring ? Love your channel btw, keep it that way !
We will be offering 1kg bags. But because we purchase such incredible green, and pay producers well, our prices would often be less appealing at 12oz. And many prefer the slighter smaller sizes to help with purchasing multiple offerings
@KyleRowsell makes sense, looking forward to it. I have one coming in June/July* but was still curious what you thought about it. Can't wait to order some of your coffee to try out on it. Congrats on all your success as well!
Wow, wish you were local to me. This is not only good content, but increases the likelihood that I'll someday buy occasionally from September, even if my bags for daily drinks will probably always come from one of the roasters local to me.
Hello Kyle, I am new to coffee and would like to know as a first grinder should I get a 1zpresso x pro or a ZP6? I would mostly be doing pour over but I also have a cheap espresso machine and I’d probably like to do aeropress what do you recommend?
Congrats on the Loring! Heard a lot of great things about them, it's pretty much Probat town where I live so I'm keen to one day try some air-roasted beans.
I’m from Brockville just an hour south of you. I would love to see a nice light roast that I can use in my espresso machine. Something juicy and maybe even a little citrus forward. Looking forward to visiting the Roastery sometime.
Hello from Florida - Between your channel and Hoon's and Lance my game has changed up. Gevi 4 in 1 for pour over and New BBE for espresso with SGP grinder. Looking forward to ordering some of your coffee to try and please keep the videos coming. NiceJob and congrats!!
Have you ever worked as a professional roaster before starting September? I’ve been roasting for almost 2 years on a Aillio Bullet. Starting a coffee company isn’t my goal, but I am curious about all of it. Like, maybe someday I’ll decide it’s right for me.
I grew up in Kanata down the street from Morning Owl. I now live in California. I ordered some of your beans and it’s making some of the best coffee I’ve ever had! Keep up the great work.
I suppose there are electric roasters that use convective heat too. Is there a difference between both and why did you guys go with gas (maybe total energy costs)?
We considered a stronghold. But due to price, and wait time it was a no brainer for us. Lorings are typically a 2 year wait but we got lucky with someone selling their contract months before it’s departure.
Congratulations! Do you have a favorite sample roaster that you will pair with the Loring to test small batches of various beans, or when developing a profile that you would transfer to the Loring as a starting point?
Perfect! The Roest seems to use similar principles as the Loring. An ideal match. I went with the Kaffelogic Nano 7 as my home roaster. Not as nice, but more affordable.
@@skatcat31 haha got it. Our camera person was so exited about the loring they didn’t check exposure. And I shoot on slog but still, it was unrecoverable

Super cool that you were able to get a Loring! I love the coffee that they produce. Can’t wait to try some coffee from it!
We’re very excited.
Do you have any UK based resellers? I'd love to try some of these coffees but £16 postage is a lot (I know it's outside your control).
Drinkcoffeeclub has September currently and planning to bring more in soon
I tried your September coffee today in Chelmsford UK. Most amazing espresso I've ever had!
High praise. I appreciate the kind words. Thank you.
I think the September content is very interesting! Thanks for these behind the scenes videos.

Really love the vid and would really love to get your beans but alas geography. Looking forward to more quality content on the Loring as well!
We do ship international!
Congratulations. I guess I'm going to have to try September coffee beans once you get the Loring up to production.
Please do!
Congrats Kyle!
Thank you friend
This is what happens when you go all in. There's no going back now! 😉
Yep, we’ve been all in since the start!
Awesome... good luck! Loring is end game top shelf next level ninja s**t
Ha. Thanks for watching!
Did you consider IMF as an option and if yes why did you prefer the Loring instead?
We did. It came down to shipping to Canada, it made it substantially more with a longer wait time
Footage at the end was good, but needs improvement with the other footage. You should hire a camera crew and editor. 🫶🏻 🎥 ☕️
Hahaha I am the camera crew and editor.
Refer to my other videos. I didn’t stress video quality in this one. I was roasting coffee…

The xpro is a better all round grinder imo. The zp6 is a fantastic filter grinder
