I always wish people would include dc when talking about stage presence because they have one of the stage presence other than groups such as (G)I-DLES soyeon and soojin, twice's jihyo and momo, itzy as a whole, etc.

So many people never cover DC because they sort of debuted in between generations. In retrospect, I do think the groups people bring up for 4th gen now, like ITZY and idle, will also be considered transitional groups, much like AOA and APink were from 2nd to 3rd with groups live IVE, JYPn, and Kep1er being the true full shift. Now after that caveat, with people being "4th gen is a 2018 debut or later" but simultaneously now allowing DC to be part of the "big" gen 3 groups like BP, RV, Mamamoo, Twice, and GFriend... and that's kind of fair. DC only started putting up sales numbers to make them the current 4th best selling 3rd gen group and top 6 - 8 overall fairly recently. Heck, idle blew up before DC did, and people usually associate artists with different eras. Brave Girls only hit it big this year, but I doubt anyone would call them 2nd gen or even know who to group them with since there is no equal associations to other groups.
But the TL;DR is people need to STOP ignoring DC for these types of videos and decide for themselves what gen they want to stick them in and just cover them instead of ignoring them to avoid conflict.

I think going to that Chinese competition show was a great idea, she’s improved on the show and she improved even MORE after her return to the group. I remember when her teaser dropped and I squealed happily cause I knew then what she was about come back to the group with. Handong has really became one of my favorite members because of her efforts, as I’m sure you can imagine lol😂 she deserves all the praise for her impact.

Fun fact: I got into Twice because of Nayeon. I completely understand why she's the center. She's not even my bias, but she's so charismatic, and just pulls your attention. Her face is also very recognizable (at least it was for me), so even when I couldn't differentiate the members when I first watched one of their MVs, I could recognize her.
I completely agree with Nayeon's face being recognisable. When I was getting into Twice and didn't know names or faces, it was her face that I could identify at first. But my question is: Is her face really recognisable, or are we just conditioned to recognise her face as she starts the songs?
She’s absolutely in my book earned the title of Twice’s center. She really radiates the energy and concept of Twice better than anyone else

Group ranking: I agree 100%
Individual ranking: I can't comment much about it as i never really focus on individuals, but i myself would rank Jiu much higher. The way she can play with your feelings is just unreal. Tho its probably more apparent in concert fancams that actual music shows, her fanservice is unreal.
But its clear that Dreamcatcher deserves to get more chances in big events 😁

im really suprised that someone actually spoke the facts about dreamcatcher and those more popular groups, without being afraid of bad comments and lost viewers, i really respect that a lot, maybe other fandoms will not understand, but when dreamcatcher is on the board of some ranking, other fandoms for some reason getting itchy about it and attacking in many ways, dreamcatcher deserv to be top of everything, only because they are not from the big 3 (status) is stoping them, i think its time for kpop industry to be changed, its really hard to keep yourself in the game if you are coming from smaller companies, im not mentioning Cube/starship/Woolim as a "small" company dont get me wrong am talking about real smaller companies like DSP Media/Happyface ent. /IST Entertainment and soo many that i cant count.
well Cube is quite big company(mid to top tier company) they only behid the big 4(YG,SM,JYP & HYBE)

I have to agree Dreamcathcher as a group is phenomenal I think it also have to be due to the girls and staff having a family like bond outside of the work which create a harmonic performance at work,they know how to compliment each others strengths and/or weaknesses and on top of that they're can perform with live instruments and mic. Also they're trained to be a live stage performance group(as said by their CEO)
Beyond credit to HFE to forming such a talented group in the first place, and sticking by them after MINX, I think it should be said that JiU has been a perfect leader for the group and a lot of the credit for their strong family bond and harmony on stage probably belongs with her.

I believe the main reason Twice is so good at cute concepts is because they have great chemistry as a group. When they perform with cute concepts, they interact with each other more, so it's just nice to see. Like in Heart Shaker. I also love them in other concepts tho :)
JYPE does some true miracles creating their girlgroups, TWICE, ITZY and NiziU have all such a great chemistry!

yes and don't forget the "twice concept", the concept only twice can pull off. they always work together which makes them a great group. And that's sort of why we had to wait so long for sub units ;;
For me, twice is like an oasis in a desert .....how many grps are doing cute/bubble pop concept nowadays ? Thats what make me stan them harder n wish they wont disband this soon atleast until some other gg worthy of taking their place debuts
I love seeing Rosè ranked as the top 1 Blackpink performer. I made an unpopular opinions video a couple of years ago and said that Rosè had the best stage presence in Blackpink and was only improving. I got so much shit for it that I took it down so I love seeing someone else agree with me. Jennie is my bias, but Rosè has always been the most standout performer for me. Great video. Love all the girls and Stan Dreamcatcher, Blackpink, Twice and Red Velvet ❤️

Even though I'm Lisa biased, I love watching Rose's fancams and Ill admit she's my favorite performer in Blackpink because I know she'll deliver, many people have stage presence but they aren't consistent, but with rose I have noticed that's never the case. She's always giving her 100% as a performer, i really appreciate that
These groups are so powerful that you know that the ones at the bottom are not bad, it's just others are better. And in Dreamcatcher, I never thought someone is 7th in stage presence, they are so good both together and individually, and my list always changes every comeback. Heavy agree with this. I think Dreamcatcher has such a harmonious group vibe, they don't fight for attention, or unconciously take it away from each other. When they are not in the centre, they slow down and downplay for the other members. They are the complete performance group. Maybe family is a better word than group for them :)

Jihyo did not trained 10 years for nothing! She's literally the definition of an artist. She's a leader, she out here slaying vocals, eating up the dances, leave no crumbs in stage presence & have been starting to rap which she sounded so good at it playing with them accents. Is it the Charisma? Yes. Is it also the eyeliner? Also yes.
Actually this makes sense a lot to me idk about others. To be able to portray the feeling of the music if you are vocalist comes easier and a vocalist who loves performing/dancing then that's a big advantage. As Vocalists are people who focus on the lyrics and what it conveys, dancers are more physically present if that makes sense, they are trying to execute the moves perfectly, technically so they don't focus as much on the lyrics also because they don't get as much lines.
But the vocalists are trying to portray the feeling of what they're singing about and if they can express that through facial expressions it's so captivating to see as an audience. It's what takes their stage presence to the next level.. "It's not just a meaningless smile to the audience then but a smile to convey the playfulness or the flirtiness they are singing about in the lyrics"
Does it make sense?.. That's why its very important to understand the lyrics to what you're dancing to to convey the feeling rather than just dancing to the beat and executing the moves perfectly

@Yuju simp for me jisoo is really cute offcamera. all blackpink members are really cute and adorable off camera. when they're doing mature seductive song. jisoo mysterious, mature vibees came out. idk, i think jisoo will do well with sunmi type of song. we never see that sides of her. but i think it suit her. (gashina) this song is both quirky and mature
I think her deep voice make a lot too for this, she don't sing very deep but betwenn her and Rosé you heard it and it make a contrast that complet the group (and her too)
Siyeon is indeed the queen of murderous stares. All of them in Dreamcatcher in general have a great stage presence and it surprises me because they had only two months before re-debuting, only two months where they had to learn to go from being a cute group to the darkest thing in Kpop. They were literally given classes to learn how to smile tetrically and they got into their roles so much that during Chease Me's first promotions they were forbidden to smile on stage until they knew how to do it without clashing with the dark aura. They tried very hard to give good live performances and they make the most of their second chance, I applaud them. 👏🏻👏🏻
yeah and also they talked about the time they heard Chace Me for the first time, they were very hesitant because of how fast the song is and how the choreography would look. they've come a long way.

true i think they always had the dark concept in them though, like how some of the members especially dami and siyeon didn't like the cute concept and wanted to go more in the rock direction. we can see how much better the dreamcatcher concept suits the whole group but they definitely had to do a lot and they killed it
@@insomnial8153 I'm not sure about them "always having the dark concept" but I can imagine them wanting to do every other concept that's not a cute one (and maybe sexy). If I had to guess, JiU is probably the only one that didn't have that much of a problem doing a cute concept. But you can tell that she still wasn't her true self back then nor was fully happy (non of them were). But I agree with them suiting rock more. They have become pioneers of that genre and younger groups are following their footsteps (i.e Pixy and Pink Fantasy) which is one hell of an accomplishment (especially since a lot of people told them "if they want to become popular, they need to change the concept")
@@hagakure81 Hi, I'm sorry that it's kind of a late reply but I'm pretty sure I saw them talk about it during Vlives and DC Notes more than once. JiU talked about how Gahyeon almost got scolded when she couldn't stop smiling during one of their stages (it was during their early days but I'm not sure which one).
I was so shocked to see Siyeon at number one. And so excited! I've been a huge fan of her and her stage presence for the longest time and I've never seen a lot of people talk about it and how great she is. Thank you for this!

I saw little glimpses of what Gahyeon's confidence would become in Lucky Strike, Piri and Deja Vu. She really came into her own once Scream came out. Her facial expressions are next level. She is my bias wrecker in DC now

As a Blink, I agree that Blackpink is not always the best compared with other groups but for some reason, they attract my attention so much. They are like magnets that demand attention.

Edit: so after watching Dreamcatcher countlessly, I now agree with everglow-up. These girls are no joke and Siyeon and Sua have superb stage presence. I can say though that although their music were extremely good, for some reason it is not like Blackpink music which will immediately slap you in the face and make you remember them forever. Dreamcatcher's music is like a turtle. A slowly but surely type of music. It takes time and repeated listening before it engraves to you that yup! This is what art is. Maybe because at first I find their instrumentals too heavy to listen to. But I can say that their best era for me is Dystopia era. They were like mine bombs detonated on this era.

Dreamcatcher being praised for what they deserved is gold but boi, my ult bias in dreamcatcher is handong (see the pic🤣) even tho she's has always been my ult bias. I didn't really think of her chatismatic UNTIL she came back from the survival show in china. Her stage presence grow immensely. The fandom agrees her after there improved her overall. Siyeon is usually seen as musculine performer due to her intense visual and sharp presences but its actually more feminine and elegant in how she delivers those things she compliment it by a lot of times wearing more baggy clothing and more musculine visual clothing to balance it(their stylist is literally on another level tbh) her feminie energy can be seen especially in BEcause stages and the Dream Concert where she wore more feminine wardrobe honestly she knows how to balance an act which is very important for a performer and an artist as she kept her viewers on their toes everytime she performs. Off stage is exuded more masculine energy I feel like personally

This was captivating to watch I didnt even realize 44 minutes have passed. With that said though, I've been saying it since day1 but Dreamcatcher's group chemistry when they perform is no joke. How each member is able to flow in and out of formation and captivates audience during their moments have impressed the hell out of me. And I noticed this shift since Piri era but the recent Scream, Boca and Odd eye era elevates their performance.
On a side note, the comments you made on each performers is spot on and what I've noticed too from watching their stage presence and job well done on condensing it but not simplifying it.
I was so happy to see how high you put Gahyeon. She's one of my favourite performers in kpop. I just love how subtle everything about her is when she's on stage and how, even without using her face too much or being the best dancer, she stands out every time because she knows how to use her face and movements to her advantage. She's also improved so much in this aspect, so seeing her in top 10 really made me happy.
Honestly I never doubt my girls, but a LOT of people write Dreamcatcher off as "that group for edgy people" (not my words) so most of the times when I see lists like this Dreamcatcher is either A.) not part of the conversation or B.) dismissed as untalented because they aren't popular. So the amount of joy I have that they not only toped the group list, but Siyeon also topped the solo list, is immeasurable, so thank you for the serotonin!
you're so right about jihyo. i agree the twice as a group blends well together, but when jihyo is at the center, she just snatches and you can't look away. i think that what gets people to think she's "overdoing" it but i think it's more of some of her other members needing to match to her level. it makes sense because she has been a trainee the longest in the group.

That's true that Dreamcatcher stage presence is great. Today I watched their online concert when I'm not even a fan. Why did I stay? Cause they made me! Dami and Gahyeon made me stay.
I think why blackpink is last in terms of group is because while they are individually strong performers and they do complement each other they lack harmony in my opinion they are not synchronized (yes that matters in group stage) and still feel like individual that came together for a collab. this point used to be different in debut and is rather a new development must be because of the solo activities effects there is also a genuine lack of content as group from them they have the same number of stages that itzy has while rest if groups have evolved and have a lot to show

3) this one's gonna be long lol, but i've seen both my ults (twice & dreamcatcher) live in concert and i just gotta say..... the amount of respect i gained for all the girls after their shows is immeasurable. deukae is so attentive to their fans (especially sua) and their stage presence is palpable even when they're not performing and just "hanging out" with the fans. and twice..... god... best night of my life lol. the fact that they can perform for 3 hours straight (for months), sing, dance, interact w fans and still maintain their energy, smiles and positive attitude is so beautiful, special and honestly inspiring😔 if y'all ever get the chance, go see these groups in concert, you won't regret!!!

The concert part is so true lol. I watched TWICE's 26-12-2021 Seoul concert online and these girls performed 35 songs in that concert which was the max I've seen any grp perform. You really need to be a good physical state to perform all those songs, interact with the crowd and still manage to keep the intensity high.

I didn't hesitate even a second to click on this video seeing Dreamcatcher in this video, even less Siyeon. Their my ult group and Siyeon is my ult bias. Makes me so happy to see people acknowledge the talent they all individually and all together bring to the stage. You definitely have good taste!
I personally would have listed all of Dreamcatcher at the top because of their talents but I'm biased of course haha.

I couldn't agree more with your choices for top 3. Since every one of these groups debuted (BLACKPINK, DREAMCATCHER, TWICE) these girls (Rosie, Jihyo, Siyeon) always catched my eye with the way they performed on stage and in front of the camera and improved even more with each year in the industry. Wow! I approve this list! I probably would have the same one except for one or two members (i would have put Jisoo higher personally). I honestly thought Siyeon would be 2nd so it's a pleasant surprise :) As an Insomnia I really appreciated everything you said about the group, really liked the "Silent assassins" title, very fitting.
i mean siyeon is scary good. i thought she can only do fierce perfomance. but nope BEcause prove me wrong. she can do cute concept too.(not minx) her body language just scream confidence. and what everglow say is true. once u see siyeon, its hard to look away. on red sun special clip. i just glance toward siyeon. and i keep looking at her till the end.

BP's stage presence is also affected by how clunky their choreographies are. It's not bad like how stans make it out to be, don't get me wrong. It suits the technical levels of the members, but the pathways of their transitions makes the choreography out of place
I agree, poorly suited choreography really dampers an artists ability to entice an audience the same way hair and makeup would. An example that comes to mind, while not kpop, is Dua Lipa and her pencil sharpener choreo vs her future nostalgia era choreos

Siyeon definitely deserves her #1 spot, girl is not just a kpop idol, but also a Rockstar, the way she holds the mic, her outstanding live vocals, her stares, her energy. I mean let’s be honest, all dreamcatcher members are amazing performers. They are the Queens of Rock in KPOP, the stage is their playground.
As a hardcore blink, I am glad someone has finally said Rosé is the best performer in BP, I know that a lot of people would say Jenlisa (it’s normal since they have more stans) don’t get me wrong they are excellent but Rosé on stage just hits different, take their Coachella performance as an example.
As a ROSÉ BIASED I totally agree with ur top 3 . YG and bp are generally rap focused so jisoo and rosé tend to be overshadowed. But rosé's stage presence is supreme. But I think that as a group blackpink should have been higher than red velvet.

DreamCatcher really a great bunch of performers. The consistency and the power are very high.
Dreamcatcher’s stage presence is NO JOKE. Out of all the groups I follow, dreamcatcher is the only group with which I watch multiple stages of the same song, probably odd eye the most. Their stage presence is damn near flawless, and along with their strong vocals, you can’t look away.

Siyeon has just released a fun special clip with Dami, a cover of HyunA & Dawn's 'Ping Pong'. In this we witness a lethal Siyeon, both cute and fierce. Her gaze is incredible and she kills by just blinking her eyes! I kid you not! This just to prove what you say here, which is 100% true. She's lethal. Oh and her looks and makeup? Beyond perfect. On par with Hyuna's, which may sound impossible, but isn't. Her makeup, hair and styling is so perfect, that she could stand on stage beside HyunA and Dawn and be part of their show. And we all know how amazing the styling is for those two and their dancers is.
This was an unexpected video for me but I’m really glad I watched it, very cool and informative. As a big Insomnia and a regular fan of Twice, Red Velvet, and Blackpink it was really eye opening listening to the critics on the groups members. Also got to give you props for including Dreamcatcher in this grouping, they are so underrated amongst most female groups, but to me they stand out so well I’m glad you thought so to. Definitely going to watch more videos in the future

as someone who is a fan of all of these groups, i think this ranking is more or less accurate (individual rankings are different than i have expected, but not complaining). i especially agree with dreamcatcher being first in terms of group stage presence (i am always so immersed in their performances) and i was pleasantly surprised with siyeon :D . with rose and jihyo i couldn't agree more.

I was so happy to see Rosé at the top, because in my opinion Lisa is a bit overrated due to her beauty, I would never say that she's a bad performer she deserves her place but it's not as good as people claim it is. But Rosé is indeed better.
Jihyo is probably my favourite performer, not only that but I think in twice she has the best facials it seems. My life was complete when you talked about how well jenlisa complement eachother 😭. Like I always see the jennie vs lisa debate but people NEVER talk about how well these two work together. Like even their rapping styles compliment eachother. Blackpink as a whole group has amazing chemistry that people blatantly ignore.

My ult gg biases at number 1 and number 2 ♡ ♡! I cannot go on enough about how amazing Jihyo is to watch with each era Twice has done. She knows exactly when to be bubbly and cute like in The Feels and when to be powerful and sexy in Cry For Me. And Siyeon, oof! She’s almost intimidating with how strong she is, but she’s also so magnetic. I watched a few Siyeon fancams before this and noticed the same thing you mentioned, she knows how to tone it down when she isn’t front and center but doesn’t entirely shut down and goes right back into action when it is her time. Best girls, truly!

Your ranking system has the potential to be revolutionary. Imagine this being used to help trainees prepare for debut, CEOs using this to put together a group with perfect complimentary chemistry, survival shows using this instead of picking all the prettiest people (not calling out any groups specifically, chill out), fans considering idols objectively instead of getting irrationally emotional in ridiculous fan wars. The possibilities for improvement are endless!

1. Dreamcatcher (Do I even need to explain)
2. Blackpink (ngl they do pull me in, partly because of their visuals but also because they just dominate the stage. I think their powerful concept and dance help though)
3. Twice (Some members are a bit weak but as a group they are literally amazing, they draw attention so much and their chemistry is phenomenal. They’re so powerful when together.
4. Red Velvet (they are all pretty good but imo they don’t seem exciting on stage, they don’t intrigue me and draw me in in that way)
