I am still a fan of what I have seen lately by Bit Defender but Kaspersky (and old favorite from even Windows 95 and "AVP" days) has made it easy for what to switch to from Avast with all of their issues these days with selling using data
What happens, if I don't have any active internet connection. It's not possible to have internet all the time. Are cloud based protections works in that scenario? I have no idea, so please help by replying.
I have used Kaspersky Security Cloud, and although it does bring amazing results, it also, in my experience, has a way of commandeering your desktop and requiring that you follow their' suggestions or be continually harassed by pop-up screens foretelling grave results of refusing to do so. I don't have that problem with Bit Defender. I concluded that KSC was more hassle than it was worth. That's my two-cents. ^_^
One thing to note about Kaspersky: they have separate demo times for every version of their product. So you can get almost half a year of full protection for free by using each version for a month. Another thing is that at least for me, the Internet Security was incompatible with Hyper-V: the virtual network cards that Hyper-V generates drive KAV crazy and it blocks network at every reboot and more.
Literally just do one yourself it takes no more than a couple hours for some solid malware and to lock off your vm effectively first time round, get to it instead of watching this.
I've been using Kaspersky for 6 years now and haven't had a single problem so far. One thing I dislike about Kaspersky products is that they bundle the trial version of Kaspersky Secure Connection with installation of security products. Of course this program is easy to uninstall cleanly but it is bloat nonetheless. Also, I love how the refresh rate of Task Manager matches the rhythm of the music!
Is there a way to disable those annoying notifications pop ups? I had all the notifications unchecked on Kaspersky settings but I still keep getting notifications for upgrading. Thanks.
What I would really like to see tested is Windows Defender combined with the free KART (Kaspersky Anti Ransomware Tool), and/or Malwarebytes AntiRansomware and/or AntiExploit. Nice thing about free is not just... well... the free part... but not worrying about your subscription running out (although Kaspersky discontinued V3 of KART and made getting V4 a pain)
Thank you for your channel. My kaspersky year license is up. Would you use Kaspersky cloud or internet security? Not really understanding the difference in the two. Thank you
saket sharma I don’t think so, because you update your local database (so unless you keep your computer offline for a long time and the database is significantly out of date)
Alex Kramer Kaspersky also uses internet to detect more viruses, thats why it has "cloud" in its name, you could see in the video the network usage was jumping pretty high when kaspersky was dealing with all those viruses, so yeah i think having internet does make the detection rate better
Ken it seems like you are right, they use KSN to send information about a file (not the full file) to the network when it performs suspicious tasks and it was not yet marked as a virus in the local database. This way they can instantly flag virusses on all systems based on behaviour instead of only signatures, more info can be found here: www.kaspersky.com/blog/ksn/2561/
all these particular samples were detected using the signatures meaning they are stored offline. But if you get hit with a new sample which no AV has signatures for, having a internet connection can help it decide whether the file executed is malicious or not.
I don't know if anyone else will run into this but I had to uninstall Malware Bytes 4.x before Kaspersky would install correctly. Been using it for about a month and it seems to be working well.
Kaspersky has better signatures and no annoying popups trying to scare you like Avast Free edition. Yes, you only lose customisation and get a watermark. otherwise fully functional Windows 7 is still usable, but no more security updates, lack of support on newer computers, and software will eventually stop supporting it, meaning you will be stuck on old versions of web browsers (very insecure), no antivirus software available, etc. But right now I'd say it will be fine as long as you keep it disconnected from the internet. That is my recommendation, although the best option would be to upgrade to Windows 10.
I used to get kaspersky and recommend it all the time... only issues i have with it was that selling user data (i think thats what it was) from a few years back
To download an App is needed ? Or you use it directly online ? Coz you didn´t mention. Other thing, Does It affect your Windows 10 updates if a installed App is runing ?
I have noticed during test there was a pretty big Network usage by Kaspersky. Was that because of the shared network folder executable or kaspersky really uses so much bandwidth? I remember your early videos when you had crappy ISP. Like 50Mbit would be no go for you in that times.
No. Kaspersky offers AV free and Security Cloud free as two separate products. However, SC free includes AV free along with a few other features (such as VPN)
Greetings. I watched your VM video and I would like to ask. Do I need a CD/DVD to make it work or can I just.. allocate some disk space just like I would allocate RAM or smth?
Use process explorer instead of process hacker... Edit - Avast is really great for a free AV. Once you set it up it won't even show a single popup when you use your device. Only when necessary the popup for on demand scan or .exe file scan would be shown.
I don't understand what this version actually is. Is it a replacement for the free antivirus they used to offer? I don't see a place to download that anymore, only way to get something from them called antivirus is to pay. Have they just gone to pay only? Or us the cloud actually antivirus as well?

I just ended up restoring a disk image backup (which I do do regularly) to before trying the Kaspersky cloud antivirus. I agree it may be top notch antivirus, but I dont think I can justify having it, at least without the skip large 7z files option.
Sorry for the long post, I would love to read your (or anyone's) suggestions
Cheers
I can't believe you used windows defender
I am still a fan of what I have seen lately by Bit Defender but Kaspersky (and old favorite from even Windows 95 and "AVP" days) has made it easy for what to switch to from Avast with all of their issues these days with selling using data
Thanks a lot for your review dear Leo.
I was waiting for this. Thank you!
Kaspersky never disappoints. Nice video👍🏽
East or west Kaspersky is the best
What happens, if I don't have any active internet connection. It's not possible to have internet all the time. Are cloud based protections works in that scenario? I have no idea, so please help by replying.
So far the best free antivirus I ever saw.
Hi! Does Kaspersky Security Cloud Free provide pop ups that cannot be disabled?
One thing to note about Kaspersky: they have separate demo times for every version of their product. So you can get almost half a year of full protection for free by using each version for a month.
Another thing is that at least for me, the Internet Security was incompatible with Hyper-V: the virtual network cards that Hyper-V generates drive KAV crazy and it blocks network at every reboot and more.
Been using it for a while now since Kaspersky replaced Free AV with it. It's fine I guess. I'd like to see a test with Bitdefender AV Free.
Literally just do one yourself it takes no more than a couple hours for some solid malware and to lock off your vm effectively first time round, get to it instead of watching this.
@@dashdashdash_ Maybe when I have the time. I'd still like to see him test Bitdefender, tho.
@@kyanoang3l0_old Clear next saturday! also its up
I've been using Kaspersky for 6 years now and haven't had a single problem so far.
Hey Leo, nice video! But i was always curious about your thoughts on Protogent Antivirus. Could you make video pls?
lol wut? You don't know the protogent meme?

Is there a way to disable those annoying notifications pop ups? I had all the notifications unchecked on Kaspersky settings but I still keep getting notifications for upgrading. Thanks.
All malware: WE ARE THE BEST!!
Kaspersky and avast antivirus: U sure?
I knew my boy was going to make it.
I and my father using Kaspersky antivirus virus from last 4-6 years.. nice internet security
Could also add a Performance-Test (benchmark e.g.) to your Reviews? :D
I always used Kaspersky ... never had issues ..
Man bless you I love watching ur videos
kaspersky the best
Thank you for your channel. My kaspersky year license is up. Would you use Kaspersky cloud or internet security? Not really understanding the difference in the two. Thank you
Kaspersky is the best
How does it perform when Internet connection is turned off
Does the detection rate decreases?
saket sharma I don’t think so, because you update your local database (so unless you keep your computer offline for a long time and the database is significantly out of date)
This way they can instantly flag virusses on all systems based on behaviour instead of only signatures, more info can be found here:
www.kaspersky.com/blog/ksn/2561/
all these particular samples were detected using the signatures meaning they are stored offline. But if you get hit with a new sample which no AV has signatures for, having a internet connection can help it decide whether the file executed is malicious or not.
Test 360 security with all modules enabled..and also for pups from options.and with browser extension
Thomas User 360 is a shit antivirus made by chinese company to spy on you
I don't know if anyone else will run into this but I had to uninstall Malware Bytes 4.x before Kaspersky would install correctly. Been using it for about a month and it seems to be working well.
Who is the Best Kaspersky Total Security OR Kaspersky Security Cloud
Maybe a check about the new version of HMPA?
kaspersky is always the best!
Nice dude fresh video 👍 uploaded 1 min ago
This was very useful, thank you!
Kaspersky feel the power 💪
which is best avast or Kaspersky.
Using Windows without registering key is it safe?
make video about windows 7.
Kaspersky has better signatures and no annoying popups trying to scare you like Avast Free edition.
Yes, you only lose customisation and get a watermark. otherwise fully functional
Windows 7 is still usable, but no more security updates, lack of support on newer computers, and software will eventually stop supporting it, meaning you will be stuck on old versions of web browsers (very insecure), no antivirus software available, etc.
But right now I'd say it will be fine as long as you keep it disconnected from the internet. That is my recommendation, although the best option would be to upgrade to Windows 10.
@Dex4Sure Thank you 👍
@@yotoprules9361 Thank you 👍
I think bitdefender has many signetures named trojan generic because most are automatic signitures
Test Avast next please 🙂, i'm not sure if it's good to switch.
It seems to use a lot of network bandwidth. Could be worth comparing with no internet connection?
well if it's checking every single sample with the internet, your everyday user isn't going to be running 1500 infected executables.
Thank you Leo.
What's your opinion about Kaspersky Security Network is it safe to turn it On?
Can i still use Kaperksy av offline?
I used to get kaspersky and recommend it all the time... only issues i have with it was that selling user data (i think thats what it was) from a few years back
Every AV does that btw
@@zeroskill990 if I create anti virus I dont get privacy tho I'm only gonna allow permission no ads no spyware that's it
What's the difference between Kaspersky total security and Kaspersky Cloud, and is it worth it?
To download an App is needed ? Or you use it directly online ? Coz you didn´t mention. Other thing, Does It affect your Windows 10 updates if a installed App is runing ?
I've used avast free for a very long time now. II'll give this one a try, it looks like avast but better and not annoying
*AVAST! virus database has been updated*
@@logickedmazimoon6001 almost nostalgic of that. I haven't heard it for years
@@mrle0719 Is it good?
5:43 - That miss must be just a PUP, isn't it? Only a little dust in Karsperky Free clean sheet.
It doesn't even look like malware, but the file wasn't analysed. Either way it did surprisingly well
I have noticed during test there was a pretty big Network usage by Kaspersky. Was that because of the shared network folder executable or kaspersky really uses so much bandwidth? I remember your early videos when you had crappy ISP. Like 50Mbit would be no go for you in that times.
Are you going to test Norton again?
Finally, I can protect my cloud.
LOL
@@eness379 So many viruses floating out there..condensation, you know.
Muito bom, ótimo conteúdo. Parabéns!
Can i ask you a question, What is better Kaspersky Total Security Or Kaspersky Security Cloud?
is it possible to do a updated AVG test for ransomware due to your video being about 1 year old i think want to know which one to go for
Is there any protection difference between Kaspersky free and Kaspersky security cloud free?
Yes
@@TheHobbitmann what's the difference? An how do we get the actual antivirus free? They seemed to have removed it.
I use this too on my laptop and my dad laptop. But is that okey if just using kaspersky cloud free plus with windows firewall?
Any chance of seeing the Webroot products tested?
Does this apply to Kaspersky Total Security as well?
isn't total security just this but with extra features and modules? so yeah, of course
Yes, it does.. The total security is these basic components, and more
i realy like that music you use. where is da full version
so it's the same thing as Kaspersky AV free, just a new name?
Yeah. At first I thought they removed the free version of Kaspersky, but as I looked further the name actually changed.
Cattaton The vm hard drive is dynamically allocated meaning as you put more data on it the size increases, and no you dont need any dvd to setup a vm
Use process explorer instead of process hacker...
Edit - Avast is really great for a free AV. Once you set it up it won't even show a single popup when you use your device. Only when necessary the popup for on demand scan or .exe file scan would be shown.
can someone tell me, what's the difference between the kasperky total security and security cloud?
Can you make a Video about the old combo Bitdefender Free + Imunet? A Update of the "Free Antivirus Challenge"? :D
Keep up the good work!
Thank You Leo!! 😃
Can i use it offline
Thanks Leo for your effort
could you test Emsisoft Anti Malware
Atleast From your channel we able to look how antivrius works, unlike pc meg website which rate random numbers to any anti-virus.
I don't understand what this version actually is. Is it a replacement for the free antivirus they used to offer? I don't see a place to download that anymore, only way to get something from them called antivirus is to pay. Have they just gone to pay only? Or us the cloud actually antivirus as well?
Are those malware which can’t do anything?
