Governments need to put more pressure on Apple regarding this: 1) the serial numbers of the phone and components should be recorded and blacklisted if the phone is stolen 2) if phone ends up in apple store for maintenance it should be confiscated 3) insurance companies should set up more honeypot operations to help the police to catch the thieves and mules operating in the UK 4) thieves should be put into hard labor camp instead of watching TV in jail. Only hard physical labor will create deterrent to stay away from crime
But that would mean all those anti-repair security measures being put to use to LOWER Apple's profit margin. This ain't going to happen. Tim says to buy a new one.
1) You know that these phones are produced in China, right ? Guess where their IMEI and serial numbers are "burned into firmware" and done = China, and they can AND will repurpose them for a profit. I have personally tried the "blacklisting thing" and it does not help. 2) Apple will NEVER fix a phone - they simply replace it and charge you for a brand new phone. It is as simple as that; check Louis Rossmann yt chanel for fully justified rants against apple, samsung and the lot of them. 3) Never has worked in practice = too complicated and manufacturers refuse to cooperate, as this keeps competition alive and well. In fact normal people's life will have no secrecy at all, which is exactly what three-letter agencies and malicious hacker are lurking for. Again way more complicated than need be. Kind of "forget it". 4) Here is a riddle: If you want to destroy a nation what would you do ? Make normal working people's life a living hell and wannabe thieves and criminal activity a walk in the park and take power off police and other law imposing authorities. Moral of the story ? Keep your phone safe while in the move or public places if you don't need to use it other than important calls and tasks, be extra extra vigilant. It does get boring trying to tell people to keep an eye on your surroundings. Or go for a cheap phone out of "safe zones". We could go on & on & on.. but yeah gets boring. Another very very important rule, as in the real Rule No.1: Backup you digital life often in secure places to prevent impact from criminal activity in event you fall victim to such cases. Stay safe everyone.

What a society if this were to happen in my country the guy wouldn't even go 10 meters.
Where are you from?
You’re from North Korea?
You sound like you’re from a country that doesn’t have phones
No from a country where people will take law into their own hands@@Fakewokeagenda
U came from Ethiopia worst place to live as human
You know, this is maybe a bright side of the US's stupid gun laws. While I'm sure that happens sometimes, odds of getting shot for snatching a phone aren't small. Which, I guess I'm glad they're not using the data ON the phones but what absolute monsters to be stealing phones like that.

You need to be aware what’s going on a round you. If you don’t then tough if it is so important to you make sure it is safe to use your phone. I’m blind and I do not have my phone stolen in fact I don’t even take it out of my bike to use it. I am always aware of where I am and what I am doing and what is going on I am so surprised that people with sight are so complacent with what they are doing they don’t look where they are going, they seem to have the heads down in their devices and not unaware of everything going on around them so I don’t feel sorry if they lose their phone they deserve it. Maybe they’ll pay more attention to what is going on.
Funny how Evri doesn’t lose them in transit.
Like how they do to parcels in the uk
In Kenya we never use our phones in public we always put it in the pocket and our hands inside😂😂😂
Globalisation is a wonderful thing they said
Same happened with me just outside the bond street station on 1 September.
What is the use of IEMI number If stolen mobiles can not deactivated forever? They will continue to be the subject of theft forever. Of course if they are made in China, most probably no scheme will be functional to deter such thefts since they will create a loophole to keep it active irrespective of its ownership legal or illegal.
Teaches you about personal awareness as we stare at our phones all the time and take them everywhere. Do not flash them or take them out in public especially when it's crowded and like someone already said as those bikers approach put it away.
My phone was stolen in London I was trucking it was in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China
That same goes with cars, cars from london come to dubai 😅😂
My phone ended up in Dubai within 5 days
@@katebeck6109 it is possible,
So you have tracked every stolen phone to come to that conclusion
Governments need to put more pressure on Apple regarding this:
1) the serial numbers of the phone and components should be recorded and blacklisted if the phone is stolen
2) if phone ends up in apple store for maintenance it should be confiscated
3) insurance companies should set up more honeypot operations to help the police to catch the thieves and mules operating in the UK
4) thieves should be put into hard labor camp instead of watching TV in jail.
Stay safe everyone.
don't be on your phone while walking to start with
Yes. Plan ahead or ask for directions
Sure go ahead and blame the victims for using their phones in Europe
But the most Europeans stolen phones end up in Morocco 😂😂😂
Africa.
Good lord, zero insight, you basically said what everyone knew: stolen phones can't be unlocked and resold, the only use is for (some) parts.
On Android they can be, but you need to desolder the storage and do a "total" wipe to bypass FRP lock
On Apple they usually can’t, everything is searlized and hardware locked except for the screen and battery
@@ItzAwsomeWasTakenyou can remove/replace chips, and you’re forgetting about the housing, camera and many more parts which can be easily sold, in Eastern Europe a lot of phone repairmen buy iPhones in any condition(locked, broken, working etc) just so they can get the parts
I would like to help, as I was part of the used phone industry a while back. I can really help but not sure who to contact.
I thought it only happened in poor countries
china's not that rich
my iphone15 pro max just got snatched outside of my house in Camden. Completed its life cycle, made in China, bought in America, stolen in London, and being resold back in China.
My phone got snatched at Oxford Circus also two weeks ago, now end at at SZ
Ive a self distruct on my phone , if you grab it it explodes and if i catch you you exploded
The phones are going back to where they came from
This happened to my mother but in America and it also ended up in china so this isn’t only a uk problem and the way it was stolen was scary. My mom said that when she walked into a store with her friends she saw this guy and immediately was scared of him but ignored him and then a couple of minutes later she was distracted with her phone playing a game and then the next her phone is gone and the weird part is my moms mind went completely black for a few seconds and she forgets where she is and her phone is also gone.
Then the same day the phone is on the move couple days later it’s in china and my moms gets a message about how the phone will be sold on the black market with all her info and only way to stop it is to use delete the device 💀 do not message these people back or do what they Say!
Parts sold out
This is just bad reporting. The phones are in China not because some Chinese organized crime group want to get phone for parts or resell, they are in China to be recycled / upcycled.
The British based thief rings already extracted whatever personal info they can from the device before selling the phone as junk to recyclers who ship them to China for disassembly.
Gangs aren’t robbing phones for the $5~10 they can get selling the phone to recycler, they are robbing phones to get financial info and passwords
Problem that these countries cannot talk to each other, the criminals knows this and take advantage. Just go across the borders and go scot free. Why do you think other Asian countries not have this problem? Because the local police work together and tip off each other. Win-win.

@@cooper1819 some asian countries do have this problem such as turkey and India . However the Middle East is incredibly safe so I understand what you mean. Stealing is pretty common in western countries and it’s sad to see and nothing can even be done about it
In Brazil we have the same problem with cell phone theft, but the ones here end up in Africa. 🤷🏼♀️
Yeah, I'm Brazilian also, the thing is we know how Brazil is, I would never take my phone out of my bra ( yes, that's where I kept it ) outside any place, meanwhile I had the false sensation that Europe was safe, what happened? I was never robbed in Brazil and ended up having my phone stolen in London.
@@Hithere-dl2cxI can tell you exactly what happened but unfortunately it would be censored. I suggest you do some research if you’re curious about the topic
I see it happen before my eyes. I thought about giving Chase but my scooter does 18mph and he was on electric dirtbike.
My friend lost a laptop, phone, a wallet, important documents, and else along with the bag when traveling around Oxford University 😅
If your swiping in the middle of the road.silly boy.
My phone was stolen in Downtown Los Angeles 3 weeks ago, ended up in the same place. IN CHINA.
If u loose ur phone it means it's another phone with co pletely new format in shenzhen.they can clean it full good
Don’t walk and text, be aware of your surroundings.
Are bait phones illegal in Europe?
Even my phone inside the rental flat disappeared while I was sleeping and end up in China😅😅😅
Don't make it easy for them. Be aware when walking down the street transfixed on your phone makes you a sitting duck.

Not sure why consumers are able to track their phones but the police (government) with their sophisticated are not. They do not even have to recover all the phones, they simply need to use one device get the guys at the top who are shipping these phones to China.
My phone get lost and now this is in china
Great channel
Theres no crime in UK,
Criminals mostly operate abroad
This whole video is about crime in the UK....🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
@@RUclipsGlobalAdminstrator no, it’s about London
sounds like there doing more component recycling than apple
What does it mean it’s easier to unlock phones in china?? So they can unlock it and see all my pictures and stuff?
Need help, my phone was stolen (not UK, it was in Miami) and right now located in shenzhen!
who steals them? brits.
Yes, the white british steal everything, even cheap drugs at the farmacy or food at poundland, I've seen it with my own eyes.
U forgot that there is no Britain anymore. It has be invaded
Immigrants
mastermind by apple and samsung so that you can upgrade to a new one.
The police need to control the local people ago the peaceful community to maintain peace ... They don't have time for a petty common person who has lost a measly phone
Kağıdın ardına saklayarak telefonumu bu şekilde bugün Regents Parkta çaldı bir doğu avrupalı kız
um ... really???
Moral of the story always stay alert of ur surroundings, people use to laugh when i put my phone in my pocket when there was chiva on cycle near me
I have warned people so often I get to become their boring tune. Well, some people never learn until it is them.. so sad while fairly simply and perfectly preventive using well thought methods .
great cover
come steal my phone... .
My phone got nicked from Illford. And i dont know why but the guy who almost stole it, threw it back on the pavement while i was running after his bike. I got my phone back with a cracked screen! Its a Sansung not an iPhone. I read someone had their non-iphone rejected too. I see a pattern here!
Guess the middleman wont buy it..
Apple should put the option, erase and lock the phone
They already have that feature. You can remotely erase the phone but continue to track it.
This is a proof that people who are chatting or use their phones in the streets are not paying attention on their properties.
So, it’s useless to blame the police when the reported product wasn’t kept safer in first place.
The streets are for anyone why don’t start to be more careful instead of reporting to the police and wishing that they will find your properties? I know it’s hard, but imagine if you start to ensure yourself first and be more attentive, probably you’ll be more prepared to take your responsibilities seriously and perhaps trying to do your own justice instead. Off course you need to report to the police for than taking to your insurance if you got one, but don’t think that the police will fix your problems, just pay attention when you leaving your houses, streets are always dangerous .
Mine found its way to Nigeria
What a lots of cabbage..😂😂

in every cities or countries .. we have those kind of thives ..
It is because the demand for western phones is high and it does not have... the bloatwares installed compared to native phones. Also the security etc. The question is will they able to run it due to different banding in regional networks?🤷♂️
Isn't the phone banding are different between countries?
99% phones are made in China. What western phones are you talking about?
Bring back the Brick phones !!
