Also this when the NCR was big enough to annex Arizona (mentioned in Kellog's memories) so we're talking about an NCR that was able to take what was once Legion territory and hold it. We're talking a faction with 1 million+ population since it was around 700k during NV when it only had control of California and parts of Nevada. Even with backup from the east coast, the BoS stand no chance against the NCR. Not to mention they had a functioning government. Corrupt but functioning. If DC was nuked right now it's not like the US would devolve into anarchy, there are systems in place so that positions of power are filled or acted on by other members. It would've made more sense to either leave it vague or just commit to one ending: The NCR being weakened and restricted to California due to the 2nd battle of Hoover Dam after losing Vegas to House or the Courier, the NCR having a strong foothold up to Nevada and dominating, or the NCR being heavily weakened and restricted to their old, core settlements after losing to the Legion, which would have collapsed after Caesar's death leading to splinter factions of the Legion all arguing that they're the real Legion a la the Byzantines.
This divide in the Fallout fandom always irks me. Whether it be arguing about the lore, writing, gameplay, originality, or other feats it just boils down into “West Coast good, East Coast bad” or vice versa.
O it has nothing to do with East or West it is extremely Black Isle/Obsidian >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Bethesda. Mainly out of the sole virtue that they created the IP. I love Bethesda and am grateful they saved and resurrected the franchise, but they do not understand nor have displayed much care for the lore, especially with Fallout 4 and 76. I do like Fallout 4 as a game and it is a fun post-apocalypse game, but it isn't Fallout. I mean I would argue that they did the same thing to Fallout, as Disney did to Star Wars.
@@cryptthrasher2213 Interplay/Obsidian had some great writers for the Fallout series, but they had some shortcomings that Bethesda doesn't, namely time management and replayability. The 'sole virtue' only holds up so much. If F2 was released now, I'd say those who dislike F4 would be all over 2 for its humor and off-lore items.
@@IBETHISNAMEISTAKEN Absolutely. F4's writing is just straight weak-sauce. Some concepts were good, some were okay but really could've been executed better. Hell I dont even like Bethesda either, but there reaches a point where you have to just calm the hell down and get a grip.
if we're giving the west coast the full enclave instead of the enclave remnants (basically rewinding the clock to Fallout 2), then west coast wins, no doubt east coast BoS and Enclave both seem to be scavenging whatever they can get, while the west coast Enclave still has the ability to produce vertibirds and power armor with pre-existing infrastructure (see also: Frank Horrigan and the vertibird blueprints quest) and the NCR has their own war materiel production (it's not much, but having standard uniforms and rifles will always be better than scavving)
Really? Institute, teletransport, infiltration, almost every settlement convert to the military and the same potential of the securitron army of House?
@@drakgatru3715 you can't win a war with teleportation alone, it'll work maybe a handful of times before the enclave wises up and clamps down on both internal security and military intelligence (can't teleport to the enemy if you don't know where the enemy is, etc) and you're completely overlooking leadership here, does anyone at the institute have any kind of experience managing logistics or leading an army?
The brotherhood as of Fallout 4 makes their own weapons, armor and vertibirds. Before the end of fallout three they had to scavenge but after defeating the enclave they took over their production facilities that they had.
@@drakgatru3715 The east coast brotherhood figured out countermeasures to that. If they can then the ncr and enclave can too. Also same potential as securitrons my ass synths are as worthless as a legion recruit in a combat situation.
@@Mr_Wheels99 i find it very hard to believe that they can produce vertibirds beyond maybe cannibalizing wrecks, think of how many ball bearings alone they would need to produce to put one together and that's not even covering fuel, the Enclave had this down with the Poseidon oil rig and the Navarro base, but the BoS wouldn't have any good way of extracting or processing petroleum on a large scale (not even mentioning how badly gasoline stores in the long term)
Characters like Sergeant Dornan, Legate Lanius and even people just mentioned in notes like Clark from NV: Honest Hearts are the reason West Side will live on forever in my heart
Considering that Bethesda’s still butt hurt that a spin-off created by the original creators is considered better than their mainline games. I’m pretty sure New Vegas won.
Actually it killed the legionnaire and everyone in the East Coast because he was lvl 1 and level scaling meant that power armor means shit. The courier with his riot gear and the west BoS and Enclave survived with just tickes.
There was a thought from myself that some civil war happening in the fallout genre, but I never really tried to go into the idea. Considering the minutemen are the post-apocalyptic revolutionaries of the American Revolutionary War, the minutemen would definitely go head-to-head with the NCR. East & west coast brotherhood I haven’t read into, but I’d imagine that East coast would want to revert back to Elder lyon’s ideology while west coast (even if they would be destroyed in F4) would hold onto the original ideology, causing conflict and eventually civil war. The enclave & legion wouldn’t be around since (again, depending on the outcome in FNV and enclave’s fate in F3) both would be destroyed. But if I remember, the legion controls the state of Arizona, and if leadership ever rose enough, the legion would still thrive, or be pushed out from Arizona if the NCR ever reached the East (revert back to the Minuteman Vs NCR statement from the beginning of this comment). But wasn’t there a theory that the Enclave still was operating but lost contact in America? What about the idea of a fallout in Canada?
@@semisolidsnake7103 Indeed. I choose to believe that there are at least three more major bases out there and that none of them shares the exact same views.
The West Coast would probably win due to the brutality of the legion that would demoralize Veracruz of the brotherhood of steel the ones I've barely seen combat especially with the conjoined power of the NCR and the West Coast chapter of the brother hood of steel I think they would put up a fair fight but they would also suffer have a casualties along with efforts from The courier who has access to nuclear weapon due to The lonesome road DLC I think the West would win
In current times on west coast the west coast chapter of the bos is tiny compared to east coast bos. The institute has near infinite synths if they somehow managed to team up with every faction on east coast. The enclave on east coast is nearly destroyed but the bos could use some of the deserters of the enclave and the enclave technology. The minutemen are a joke unless they somehow manage to gather every settler on east coast. The railroad are shown to be excellent at covert operations but nothing else. I'd say the east coast would win but barely. The east coast has a larger presence of technological advanced powers but a lesser amount of soldiers compared to the ncr.
@@MK_ULTRA420 But... don't forget the Shi, the Unity, Texan brotherhood... @@viktorsvicka6290 The East Coast Enclave and the Institute working together would be so stupid broken OP that only the Courier and the Chosen One could save the West Coast.
You're forgetting that the people living on the east coast are marked essential. They also have no morals or life goals, and are willing to do whatever. Terrifying
I like both, East Coast is dumb fun made for just enjoying yourself and such, West Coast is when you want to have a game make you think about something for years, wonder if you made the right choice. East Coast has a more modern aesthetic while West is more classical, I enjoy both. I love FNV but I also love F3, and I still have fond memories of opening up F4 on christmas day. I prefer West Coast, but I still love East Coast because its more light hearted, good for when you want to be in the Fallout universe but don’t want to be super depressed
If we put the faction against each other, East Coast Brotherhood would likely win against West Coast, but more than likely they would just join forces, plus the East being more open to outsiders would help them greatly. East Enclave would likely try to recruit West Enclave as possible military advisors since most remnants in the West would be old AF. NCR and Legion would likely spend most of the time being in a stalemate with each other due to both sides having a shortage of mailmen, though I don't see Legion as an overall winner because of their insistence on melee weapons and outright refusal to change their tactics. Now, combined Brotherhood still doesn't have the numbers to beat either faction, but would cause massive damage to both sides. Same with Enclave, though in general they're probably better off staying out of it since getting involved in conflicts never seems to end well for them.
Don't forget, about the Minutemen, institute and the Gunner into the mix Personally i think the Minutemen are the one to have the most possible alliance with the NCR if they encouter each other
You also need the Commonwealth (T-60, raider power armor, new Liberty Prime, Gen 2 Synths), Appalachia (Excavador power armor, Ultracite Power Armor, T-65 Power Armor, Hellcat Armor), and Midwest (Midwestern Power Armor, Armor vehicles, Calculators Army)
A funny thing is that a lot of people here said that both are great in their own way, which I agree with, but yet the only people who doesn’t say that say that the West is better. It kinda proves the overall toxicity of the West community. Not to mention that Bethesda literally owns Fallout, if anyone knows what it is it’s them. You may disagree with them, but just remember that they’re the one making the games, so you’ll always be wrong.
@@Drobexxx It’s not toxic, it’s a fact. Saying that a video game company that owns a certain franchise doesn’t know what that franchise actually is will always be wrong, and not just in this case. Ultimately they decide what the franchise is. So you can have your own little head canon, but if Bethesda disagrees with it then it’s just not canon, no matter how much you want it to be. And that applies for me too, the difference is that I accept it.
I like both, but for different reasons. I've always found the pre-war lore and character stories of the West coast to be more interesting than the east _(with the DIA on the East as an exception.)_ Stories like West-Tek Research, Sierra Madre, Big MT., Harold, and Ulysses I found fascinating. Outside of that, I couldn't care less about everyone playing toy soldiers with the big factions over there. For the East, I look over everything I can in the game for lore about the post-war groups/communities and how they interact. I also like seeing the dynamics of small groups of characters, like the Wayward in 76 or Quincy survivors in 4. _(These are probably why I like the Railroad so much, despite popular opinion.)_ The rivalry between the more hostile fans of the coasts is silly. Way I see it, West doesn't like East because it doesn't let them play post-nuclear Civilization, and East doesn't like West because they're butthurt over what they say. As for the question, East coast. The army of Dave, combined with a soldier as dedicated as Preston? That's a stacked decked right there. Also, that Big Iron remix seriously needs to die.
I love the dark, bleak urban aesthetic F3 and the East gives. I'd decide for the West Coast always solely because of House. But the Railroad? S i r. Worst faction on the planet.
@@moss8702 Yeah, I like the Railroad. Some likeable characters, decent _(though difficult to access)_ lore, powerful unique rewards, interesting yet subtle interactions with the Commonwealth, and - because of things like the memory wipe - debatable flaws that add to the game's themes.
All they need is a way to deal with liberty prime and I'm pretty sure the vast numbers of a Legion-NCR-WC BOS-WC Enclave alliance would crush the small numbers of a EC BOS-EC Enclave alliance. Although EC might have a tech advantage from Adams Air force base and probably more power armored soldiers still alive. Now if the institute were part of the EC alliance, that would be a harder fight for the WC team due to numbers being closer and teleportation.
Tbh even with smaller numbers and if Prime were to be destroyed, the BOS and Enclave would still put up very high resistance with both factions on the East coast having access to vertibird fleets and with a literal airship supporting the BOS giving them full air superiority
What about House's Securitrons, Boomers, NCR army without NCR Rangers, Big MT abomonations, Sierra Madre Ghosts, Sierra Madre Holograms, Khans, Vault 22 spores, tunnelers, Joshua Graham, Dead Horses, Sorrows, White legs, New Reno Mafia families, The Strip Families, Van Graffs, Vault City residents, Fiends, Gen 1 Super Mutants, Divide Nukes at Ashton and Hopeville missle silos, ARCHAMEDES II. (maybe BoS Outcasts will switch sides) VS Trogs, Institute, Railroad, Pitt slavers, Paradise falls slavers, Minute Men, that bigass BoS imperial star destroyer, Mothership Zeta aliens, Sentient Synths. I think BoS outcasts would be on Westcoast team
I just realized the reason why Decanus gets on the East side is because the Legion's soldiers were pulled from the east, therefore technically making the Legion an East faction
“The East” being Colorado which is a western state. It’s just further east then California and Nevada and the legion core territory of Arizona and New Mexico
I have no problem with either side because they both have stinky BOS the West has NCR and there is no enclave in the commonwealth (so both sides are as bad as each other) But at least both sides of the enclave have their power armour unlike that crackhead that came to me in Navarro and said they weren't given any power armour
Schizo fans getting there panties wet and ssething about how "enclave good, leguin good, NCR bad, BOS bad" VS chads who don't care what faction you like
We all know the courier will be the only surviving person. With just half of the upgrades from the new Vegas client, auto sims, the 40 mm grenade launcher, and the automatic sim talking dlc armor. All u will hear is a ding ding ding as he takes them out
Honestly I would go with the East Coast. The West Coast has interesting factions but the east has Liberty prime, those enclave troopers with the incinerators, Arthur Maxsons overpowered Knights & Paladins(T-60 with Fat Man launchers), A Captain America vault dweller that can level up infinitely & can put 10 in all SPECIAL stats, the minutemen(Who doesn’t put high taxes on the people. Which would give them more support), and The institute coursers(Who have stealth boys and can teleport anywhere they want).
Liberty Prime is a non-issue for a nation that, canonically, has and manufactures artillery (NCR). Liberty Prime only rolls over anything that doesn't have a big enough gun to stop him, and he's not armoured enough to take a 155 within 20m of him, let alone a direct hit. He's losing his legs the moment his coordinates get dialed in. West Coast also has Enclave, BoS and NCR having the gunship variant of the Vertibird, which has an autocannon, missiles and racks for fatman bombs to be loaded and dropped. That's already a guarantee of air supremacy, and the Enclave can manufacture them (NCR and BoS also might after reverse engineering, but I'm not sure if they ever stated that either side does end up manufacturing it). T-60 is canonically inferior to T-51b, so West Coast Paladins are gonna throw their own Fatman-armed guys at them too. West Coast has the 13 Vault Dweller, Chosen One and the Courier, who I'm gonna chalk up as superior to the Sole Survivor and 101 Vault Dweller in most aspects. Institute might hard carry with teleportation, but it's clear they can't teleport huge armies, only small strike teams and we've never heard of their teleportation reaching outside the Commonwealth, so it might not even help with getting to the West Coast and it's production bases.
So basically: Fallout, with civilization rebuilt vs Fallout, but no-one gives a damn and lives in garbage with skeletons and ruined cars and raiders everywhere.
I wouldn't know about that, the Enclave got fucked over pretty badly in Fallout 2, even in the timeline of Fallout 3 they are not even close to the power they had in the West 36 years prior. They are more or less done for, especially after they were defeated in DC by the Lone Wanderer
“THERE’S NOT GONNA BE A FIGHT WITHOUT PRESTON GARVEY AND THE COMMONWEALTH MINUTEMEN! Looks like another faction needs our help putting them in an early grave. Here…I’ll mark it on your map.”
Base on the lore, i would say East since they had more time to evolve that they spent efficiently, BoS has the liberty prime whose can pose a serious threat. The west enclave has Frank but i'm not so sure that he can carry the whole organization while fighting against soldiers with hellfires and xo2s
The East is barely developed though, it's like a few small islands of civilization and that's it. Constantly embattled against raiders and super mutants. Which means they actually didn't get to efficiently spend their time, they're still stuck trying to survive. On the West, the NCR and Legion alone have brought civilization to almost everything West of the Colorado river. Instead of fighting for survival in a pile of rubble, they're industrializing and have large-scale functioning societies. Also it's the original HQ of the Enclave and BoS, and both were at their apex in the West.
I love anchorman in general but that part just made me think that brick can pull insanely rare weapons out of no where but has short term memory loss so he does not know where he got them, that is what and was funny to me
You forgot the institute and the minute men. Hell the institute, the big MT and Mr.house are probably laughing their assess off somewhere watching all of this guy's fight lol
The only “redeeming” quality for east coast games is that deathclaws are less scarier in em (looking at you F04 and F76) once you fight deathclaws from let’s say FNV or F03 you’ll see what I mean. things went from hellspawn at any level to generic enemy that has “legendary” status
First of all Fo3 is an East Coast game. Secondly Fo4 has probably the best gameplay in the entire franchise, not to mention by far the best DLC too, I’m of course referring to Far Harbour. F76 started out bad, but it’s pretty good now form what I’ve heard. I’m not into multiplayer games tho. Gunplay in Bethesda games are better, a lot of fun side quests, and the stories are good too. Overall I think you’re talking nonsense.
Yeah the west coast games are better overall but if you're talking about actual combat than no, Fo4 is better. In a vacuum if all we are doing is fighting a deathclaw yeah I'm picking 4. I love the heck outta New Vegas but you're either hilariously trading blows with things you shouldn't be trading blows with or you're killing it from the next postal code over.
@@TeeV479 I think Nuka World is alright, however in Far Harbour there simply is no good ending. I think that Far Harbour can fairly be compared to vanilla New Vegas in terms of its story.
What are you talking about? Deathclaw from F03 are scary monsters, like you even tried to go to the Deathclaw cave in F03? And in F04 they have even more unique animations and unique sounds. The quest on the witch house was terror.
I think the correct answer is the East wins, because the West factions aren't written to be overpowered like everything Bethesda does. The brotherhood lost helios 1 because they were outnumbered 15 to 1. If Todd had a say Liberty Prime would have been in new vegas too and all the NCR and Legion soldiers would have power armor and miniguns.
If we combine the Synth creation process and the way time is measured in Fallout 4, if the Institute is working 24/7 then it's roughly creating 864 Gen 3 Synths a month. Couple that with the Institute's advanced telesportation and East Coast wins, no doubt.
I dont get it One side has fallout 2's enclave, fallout 3's T-51b armor, fallout new Vegas's NCR Ranger armor & Dead Sea The other side is fallout 4 (or 76's) T-45, fallout 3's liberty prime, enclave & hellfire armor Both sides have Capital Wasteland
By the time of fallout 4, the western brotherhood and both enclaves are gone and depending on what the courier did in NV than that leaves only the legion or the NCR left to (assuming the sole survivor stays with the minute men) fight the eastern brotherhood and the minutemen
on a tactical sense like a small area like the New Vegas map, IF Liberty Prime were there i'd see the whom ever had Prime holding holding the relatively small region and it becoming a major power base for them. for instance they could easily create a way to transport Prime anywhere in the Mojave and due to that they could take the areas which are known entryways for the other factions like Mojave Base to the NCR, Cottonwood Cove to Caesar and Hover Dam and making them hard points from which the faction can build fortifications enough to repel any assault. And within their region for both the Brotherhood and Enclave they can easily build up infrastructure to reinforce with robots to suppliment their army. Liberty Prime is such a powerful tactical weapon that any faction that controls him essentially wins in small strategic warfare or brief wars like Lyon's Brotherhood vs East Enclave.
Frankly the east brotherhood is more of a joke now since fallout 4... You can't tell me otherwise... There's literally a cut ending from fallout 4 that involves you replacing Maxon and making peace with the institute. But some asshole over there probably decided he didn't like how obvious the good ending would be so he got rid of it and made every ending stupid. Railroad is dumb. Minutemen are dumb. Brotherhood is dumb (with Maxon in charge but still you'd think someone else would've seen by now that he shouldn't be an elder I mean ffs he looks like he's 30 and gives speeches like a psychopath bent on destroying the last hope for humanity.) The institute is really the only decent choice but what pisses me off is even when your asked to try to make peace with the brotherhood the game basically tells you "ya we need a climatic ending and saying no to fighting them doesn't exactly make for a very exciting ending so fuck you go blow them up."

We're talking a faction with 1 million+ population since it was around 700k during NV when it only had control of California and parts of Nevada. Even with backup from the east coast, the BoS stand no chance against the NCR. Not to mention they had a functioning government. Corrupt but functioning.

@@cryptthrasher2213 Interplay/Obsidian had some great writers for the Fallout series, but they had some shortcomings that Bethesda doesn't, namely time management and replayability. Don’t you mean the holy frag grenade?
if we're giving the west coast the full enclave instead of the enclave remnants (basically rewinding the clock to Fallout 2), then west coast wins, no doubt
east coast BoS and Enclave both seem to be scavenging whatever they can get, while the west coast Enclave still has the ability to produce vertibirds and power armor with pre-existing infrastructure (see also: Frank Horrigan and the vertibird blueprints quest) and the NCR has their own war materiel production (it's not much, but having standard uniforms and rifles will always be better than scavving)
Really? Institute, teletransport, infiltration, almost every settlement convert to the military and the same potential of the securitron army of House?
@@drakgatru3715 you can't win a war with teleportation alone, it'll work maybe a handful of times before the enclave wises up and clamps down on both internal security and military intelligence (can't teleport to the enemy if you don't know where the enemy is, etc)
and you're completely overlooking leadership here, does anyone at the institute have any kind of experience managing logistics or leading an army?
The brotherhood as of Fallout 4 makes their own weapons, armor and vertibirds. Before the end of fallout three they had to scavenge but after defeating the enclave they took over their production facilities that they had.
@@drakgatru3715 The east coast brotherhood figured out countermeasures to that. If they can then the ncr and enclave can too. Also same potential as securitrons my ass synths are as worthless as a legion recruit in a combat situation.

In current times on west coast the west coast chapter of the bos is tiny compared to east coast bos. The institute has near infinite synths if they somehow managed to team up with every faction on east coast. The enclave on east coast is nearly destroyed but the bos could use some of the deserters of the enclave and the enclave technology. The minutemen are a joke unless they somehow manage to gather every settler on east coast. The railroad are shown to be excellent at covert operations but nothing else. the minutemen staring at the NCR like “hey we kinda look alike”
NCR: "I heard you have another settlement under attack."
Also NCR: "Now its out land, and you need to pay taxes!"

A funny thing is that a lot of people here said that both are great in their own way, which I agree with, but yet the only people who doesn’t say that say that the West is better.
_(These are probably why I like the Railroad so much, despite popular opinion.)_
The rivalry between the more hostile fans of the coasts is silly. Way I see it, West doesn't like East because it doesn't let them play post-nuclear Civilization, and East doesn't like West because they're butthurt over what they say.
As for the question, East coast. The army of Dave, combined with a soldier as dedicated as Preston? That's a stacked decked right there.

With the TV show this has aged well
Base on the lore, i would say East since they had more time to evolve that they spent efficiently, BoS has the liberty prime whose can pose a serious threat.

I mean fallout new vegas had that t51 b but its because a lot of assets in new vegas were reused from fallout 3
Listen, if all the main characters fought, 76 would win. Not cause they’re better but because there’s over 11 million of em.
The audio in a way works with lucy the main protag of the tv show based in the west coast
everybody gangsta till the Midwest brotherhood pulls up with deathclaws and supermutants in power armor
But of course, GOD BLESS THE ENCLAVE!
West of course, because ring a ding-ding baby..
Would love to see a sequel with all the individual factions in the park battle.
By the time of fallout 4, the western brotherhood and both enclaves are gone and depending on what the courier did in NV than that leaves only the legion or the NCR left to (assuming the sole survivor stays with the minute men) fight the eastern brotherhood and the minutemen
.... I'm just waiting for the inevitable spanner in the works player character to come in and kill everyone.
They are all masterpieces (exept Fallout 76) with a lot of thought put into them
This video is also a masterpiece, keed doing the good work
76 is also a masterPiece... Of shit.
Well the game is good but its definetly not an rpg and a bad fallout too
@@user-qs2hd3jv4d agreed.
Fallout 76 has gotten better years after the launch.
@@omegawimptronic6403 Can confirm, 76 is actually a game now. I'm only an hour in, but it is definitely one of the games of all time.
Love the fact that the Enclave gets the gun since they're the most technologically advanced in the series.
on a tactical sense like a small area like the New Vegas map, IF Liberty Prime were there i'd see the whom ever had Prime holding holding the relatively small region and it becoming a major power base for them.
for instance they could easily create a way to transport Prime anywhere in the Mojave and due to that they could take the areas which are known entryways for the other factions like Mojave Base to the NCR, Cottonwood Cove to Caesar and Hover Dam and making them hard points from which the faction can build fortifications enough to repel any assault.
Until you see some mailman point a toy gun at it
_And then you see laser targeting from orbit..._
@@mr.jamrob4505 and then the Mojave is wiped out of existence by the lone wanderer and his alien mothership death Lazer.
Fallout 3 >>>>>>>> fallout 4
Decent choise? Homie they replace humans with tin cans
Fallout 4>>>>>>>>>Fallout Mew Vegas

@@venus-tame8428 The only faction that actually has a chance of improving humanity in Fallout 4, if that costs lives I'm ok with it. Same reason I'm on Mr.House's side in new vegas
Fallout east and ovest ❤️❤️
Brass knuckles with Power Armor is one hell of a statement.
I always found the idea of conflict between the east and west coast interesting. Whether it be a BOS civil war or, the NCR finding out that the brotherhood had moved east and built a power base there long before they arrived, leaving to another much more large scale conflict between the two factions
