Hi everyone!
Back to experimenting! I will be showing the dried results of my 8x8 triptych (from video #151) in the next video!
So I tried the Dutch pour again, only this time I used ONLY pouring medium.. no floetrol at all in this piece.. what do you think?
I still have a LOT of practicing and experimenting to do with these beautiful pigments.. so stay tuned for more!

Kanella, I just want to tell you how grateful I am that you post your "experiment" videos, even ones that maybe don't turn out perrrrrfectly. Every new video of yours that I watch, I'm actually getting valuable information instead of just being "ooohh"d and "aahhh"d and just entertained. You're willing to be *real* and show what others might be reluctant to show. What I absolutely KNOW is that ALL artists have to experiment and to produce stuff they don't like in order to get to the point that they're able to produce stuff they don't *hate*, and then to get to the point that they can make stuff they *love*. You inspire me to try and to be brave and to not be afraid to fail. THANK YOU. You're an excellent teacher. [and a hilarious dog-mom]
awww thanks so much Kris
Great teaching method. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness and learn tremendously from you. I am a fan. Beautiful intense painting. Thanks!
Thank you for experimenting on line!! Love these primary elements.. Once you find that perfect formula.. continued ENDLESS beautiful artwork 💕💕
I like that you always start out with a clean mat, a lot don’t. I did piece yesterday following your directions and it turned out very nice. Thanks for the lessons.
thank you - and thats why i dont always use my silicone mats because they are filthy with paint and I dont like that image for my videos... :)
Those colors!!!!! This is gorgeous ! Astounding results! 💜💙❤️💜💙👍
Love the primary elements the colors are so beautiful.
Stunning colors.
I love these colors!
I always appreciate your lessons!
Love this! Colors are so rich. Thank you for sharing!!
GOOD MORNINGBEAUTIFULLLLLLL 💙💙💙💙💙💙..... Work kept me busy all week, but I’m back..... yesterday I enjoy 5 videos until like fell asleep. I’m back in track
I love it! These are my favorite colors. The color is just so rich and I love the darker middle to it.
Gorgeous, Great job!
Love the colors.
It turned out fantastic.
Love the blues great picture
Whoa! I love it, those colors are sooooo rich and vibrant wow.
Stunning colors! Adding water to some paints can cause cells.😉🥰
As usual, such a great presentation. I would have like to have seen you torch the middle dark blue part to see if any more cells would magically appear.
I always look forward to your videos!
Thanks so much for sharing and taking the time to film for us.
Really appreciate all that you do.
Ohhh that is beautiful!! I love the colors!!
I love the effect from the elements.
I love the bold colors without cells. This is just beautiful!
Loving this one!!
Beautiful! Love this style
Awesome teaching, my Dutch Pours, thanks to you are coming out great. I haven't tried Primary Element paints yet but they are beautiful & rich color pigmentation. I love learning from you. Thank you again.
Beautiful!!
That is gorgeous! With my bad Floetrol, seeing your use of Liquitex Pouring Medium & water was a great substitute! Thanks for this video
Its a little dark for my liking but it is a beautiful blue. Looks like a butterfly.Thank you for sharing all your wonderful art with us all Kanella! A smooch to Juno for me.
Awesome colors and painting
Beautiful colors ❤️👍
Cells from water. BEAUTIFUL 😍
Awesome looks like a butterfly. A lot of times i like the darker vibrant colors rather than pastel or real light. Love it.
Absolutely gorgeous!!! I also love that great idea of painting the paint lids to show the real colours. 😁👍
LOVE that blue!!!
I love how vibrant the colors are. 🎈👏👏👏
This turned out gorgina! After watching your next video and seeing the dried result I simply had to come back and gush over how beautiful it looks! ☮️♥️🎨
very pretty. I think its the pouring medium and tube paint that will make cells
Working with the powered pigments has turned my work area into a lab.... 😂 But once you figure it out... OMG 😍 They are fun!
Loved how this turned out. It's rich. Thank you.
Love it!!!
I’ve done the same to my PE pot tops! Really helps with choosing my palettes!!👍🏻
It’s SO beautiful!!!! As usual, you did an amazing job!!
It's beautiful. I love it.
I really like this and am looking forward to another one with more white. I love my Primary Elements.
The colors are beautiful. Very interesting information. Thanks for sharing ❤️
So beautiful colours!
Those primary element pigments are awesome ❣
It's really possible to have cells without floetrol and without pouring medium. Only add water !!!
Practice doesn't always make perfect but it does make improvements! 😉 Rich, rich colors! 💜💙
Yeah another option...I love how you teach us 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Looks AWESOME exactly how it is hun ❤️
Beautiful!
I love that you experiment on camera, it's very helpful for those of us who are beginners ☺️
Very pretty colours
Beautiful Kanella! Very bold and stunning! Great work! 🥰🎨🌹
Thank you for sharing your experiences as I’m very new to this, and becoming quite addicted. I’ve never used the primary elements but have been on the website and doing a lot of reading and video watching. Leslie did a video on RUclips two years ago about why flotrol shouldn’t be mixed with the artistic paints (especially the primary elements) and the scientific reasoning as to why it breaks down the paints. She also offers some solutions. I apologize if you are already aware. Your work is beautiful and again, thank you so much for sharing your process 🙏🏻
I really like this one
great pouring and nice colors
Thank you Kanella for sharing your experiments! I'm playing around with different PMs too for the Primary Elements, still trying to find that perfect mix that works for me. :)
Beautiful! I just ordered from Colourarte. Thanks for the discount code. I bought the set with "Polypour".
Thank you for experiencing and experimenting these products on our behalf! I love and appreciate your hard work, Kanella!
I'm following your instruction and after you get it down, I look forward to your solution and pigment measurements
I wish you much success, and much more love
💙💜💙
Like it a lot!
James
So beautiful
Very very nice keep up the Great Art Work
I love how this looks! Like food coloring poured into a bowl of water! I get cells and I only use school glue/water mix for a pm. I think maybe it's from the Artist loft. The metallic cobalt blue and liquitex basics yellow green cell like crazy for me, along with golds and other metallics. Thanks for doing a painting with Primary elements and other brands of paint! I've been waiting to see how they play with others before making that big of investment. Hug the Juno for me!!!🤗💖💕💖💕🏜
Beautiful colors. Think I’ll invest in the January special
The little cells that you got I believe comes from the combination of paints. You were using bottle paints along with your elements. That's just my scientific hypothesis. Love watching your videos.
it actually came from the water
Relief! 👍😍😍😍
Such strong radiant colours!!
Just a heads up, in case you ever want to try, in the right situation, I use Golden's gel gloss to thicken up my color art pigments or any pigments that are too thin. It works amazing and that way I can have it any consistency I want! 👍
Thank you for this! I've just started using Primary Elements myself and have been experimenting with different pouring mediums. This is valuable info!
@@MooseKrazysFlowingCanvas you're totally welcome! 👍
So when they are the consistency of paint, you mix them with floetrol or some other pouring medium?
@@Lori-sb3zb normally I will mix the pigments or whatever you're using with the pouring medium and when it's too thin I will pour a little bit of that paint and pouring medium mixture in another small container and then I'll add some gloss gel to that and mix it really good and then pour in a little bit more of the paint and pouring medium mix in it again until it's a little less thick and then add that to the main cup that the paint and pouring medium is in. I hope that makes sense!? It's easier 2 blend in if you first give it a little bit of the paint and pouring mixture, it doesn't Clump up that way! 👍
If you want to thicken any ain’t mixture, just a little gel medium will do the trick.
Very pretty Kanella. I haven't gotten into the pigments yet but they sure look bright and gorgeous.I love that you show us the many ways to use these paints and powders with the various pouring mediums. Great job as usual. Lovin' it Hugs :)
That’s amazing color!🕶
Love the vibrancy of the colours. Could the cells have come up because of the water that was mixed in? I too prefer paintings without a lot of cells.
Looks great love the way the colours are at the edges. The centre is a bit dark which I know has the colour as I could see better with the close up. The way you try things gives me the courage to keep trying. Thank you 😊
WOW 💙💙💙
Love it!
The colors are striking. Varnish as the resin seems to act like your light and the reflection sort of interferes with the movement of your color blends. This is just such a blend even dark.
The drop from the popsicle stick hahah, this happend to me too, now I learned to put it away before pouring!
Great💗
It's really pretty😁
I love it! Not a big cell fan. Can add a word in center in gold.
Maybe when you do more experimenting with this technique, you could use the same colors so the changes would be more obvious without the change in colors being a distraction. Then you could line them up side by side and see clearly which technique works best. This one turned out so vibrant. Beautiful!!!
Super,😍😍😍😍😍
Love the outcome . I would have poured a strip of whiet across the middle of the dark blue and blew it over the blue. Fun !
Wondering if just a very thin line of the white you used would have made a difference. Not with any cell activator, just to perhaps lighten the very center. But it's absolutely beautiful as is.
I love the colors. It seem the center is just a little dark.
I love your art and videos!! Juno is adorable!! I was wondering if you could explain CELL ACTIVATORS! Im by no means an artist but I have been having some luck with the hair dryer, but I have a long way to go! Thanks for the tutorials you are great!!
the only thing I use to create cells is paint floetrol and water.. nothing else. Some people use silicone oil however i will never ever use that stuff... it's horrible.. but to each their own :)
Love the colors, doesn't the torch help make the cells?
sometimes yes
I also, think it’s the water. I get teeny tiny cells with water. It is beautiful.
Love it! Where do you get those 4 pins that you use on the corners of the back of your canvas?
they are listed in my amazon shop
Nice and bright are the powders bringhter than paints.
they are more vibrant yes
You can also mix the powder in other colors when you mix it to get different colors or use more shimmer. That would be beautiful too.
Awesome tutorials, thanks so much for sharing your knowledge!👌👌👌
Curoius where do you sign your works?
I stamp, sign and date all my pieces on the back
@@KanellaCiracoArt Thank you for anwering.🌈
It seems incredible !but I would like to see dry to know the real shimmer ! It’s really sooo pretty! 👏👏👏👏✨🎨🤩💫👏👏😍👍
Love the colors 💗 though I would love a little white in the center💗I believe the cells probably came from the water💗
Hi Kanella, do you think it would work the same with Pigment paste as well, interesting experiement. I do have pigment powder also, so might give it a go and see what happens. x
I dont know as I do not have pigment paste... sorry
Kanella , I tried mind and it done the same it swallowed the colors !!! I am gona try ? Else to see if it work if I find it I tell you though !!! It was strange mind done same also !!! I was over whammed how it actually done mind and yours to and I said it done same as you said ??? I love them beautiful I am gona keep trying different ways but I went got some canvas boards to experiment on because canvases are just to high to mess them up and the elements does stain canvas so I just decide to get me some boards til I find what gonna !!!
Maybe a thin line of white cell activator? But that may have washed it out, IDK. Going to watch it again.
This is what I meant I'm my last comment on you last PE pour but with the flotrol bc I thought that's what we needed for the cells you get. I hate silicone too. But apparently cells show up at their own discretion. Lol anywho love this and the color blending in the middle is amazing. I'm going to go broke buying PE colors haha.
as long as you save 20% using my code - its better than no discount at all lol
@@KanellaCiracoArt I actually used your code when I got my first two colors. Bayou Blue and azela. So thanks for that as well!
You might have done what I did when I mixed my colors with white paint and floetrol. That’s when I put just floetrol on my canvas. I picked up the wrong bottles. I pray I don’t do that again.
Turned out gorgeous even though it's dark in the center, it's still very very rich and vibrant and beautiful. I really like it. Maybe if you had a larger canvas you can use same amount of paint as you did for this one. If you're going to use a smaller canvas maybe use less amounts of paint. That amount of paint you used might have been good for a larger canvas. But i love how it turned out! :))
Love your work! I thought I heard you say that you have a book. I went to Amazon and ordered a book which I thought was yours. Came today, and I'm disappointed that it's not yours. Can you shed light on this for me? Thank you so much. Stephanie
oh stephanie - i WISH i had a book.. maybe one day...
I do not have one hun... sorry
@@KanellaCiracoArt Thanks for getting back to me.
I'm lost. What are you mixing mica powders with?
Or it's me being loopy from my surgery that I missed it.
Hi Dana - i am mixing them with pouring medium - i say it in the video.. and it's in the title of the video lol
Do you think the Liquitex "E" (Effects) medium had anything to do with yesterdays issue? It will be interesting to see the results today. Both paintings looked great when the videos ended, Sorry the colors were consumed yesterday.
