I think there should be more videos like this because it shows that even people like you - people with BIG experience and extraordinary skills - have to learn, try and still have some kind of respect for the obstacles you are trying to overcome. In normal videos everything looks so easy and smooth. Many riders even cut out their mistakes and show only perfect attempts, which can make the viewer overestimate their own abilities. Everyone should know that the best way to learn big things is to take small steps. I know how big the difference is between action camera footage and reality because once I recorded my ride (on a much easier trail) and it looked like a pavement ride. :) That makes me even more fascinated by what you have done and shown us in this video. Keep it up!
This video earned my thumbs pretty early with that toilet paper joke 😂. But seriously, Remy’s videos are the best. His combination of guts and skill is amazing, and he always imparts important lessons that are clear and caring
I think a huge bit of progression for mountain bikers is understanding what you're feeling when it's time to do a scary or new feature. And having the guts to say no, especially when it's on video. Take the wins, put them in your pocket, let your brain focus on the wins and come back to it with confidence.
what I love bout this video is how much you guy emphasize the fact that a large portion of landing successful gnarly drops and jumps is confidence and overcoming the shear fear when you see high consequence feature.
North Shore Extreme 2023. You know it's gonna be fucking crazy video when Steve and Remy get together. Not just the riding, but the banter between the two of you as well and watching you guys push each other to progress and how honest you guys are, not being afraid to say hey this scares me.
Hey guys, really enjoyed this one. I'm 60 years old and ride 3 to 4 days a week. I had a crash mid August at Panorama, Dropping into Crazy Train. Broke my elbow and wrist. Was riding with a younger crowd. I guess I was over confident. Great job on the channel . Merci and safe riding.
Just back from a month in Whistler. I took this maxim with me into the Park: “Don’t feel it, don’t ride it”. I progressed really nicely in my time there, slowly but steadily, and felt I was in control of my riding at all times. Result: Great time, better rider, in one piece, and ready to go again. Great video!
I totally feel the anxiety of revisiting that run. Watching that back then, a little pee came out. Awesome seeing Steve out riding with you again. Don't see enough of him out there.
Would love to see it in person one day. Everyone who has experienced the Gopro-effect even on easy to intermediate trails can only imagine how unbelievably intimidating this has to look in real life!
Thank you guys for giving a good exemple to younger riders that you don't have to send everything everytime or just because your crew do it. I always try to warn my friends about features and stuff even if i know they can do it. Nice riding as always and glad you guys take some of your time to give a heads up to the community about the risks and attitude you have to play with.
Massive respect to you both! Wicked rides and wicked features, again. We remind all our first timers, that if you don't feel comfortable doing the feature, don't do it. We have some features, that aren't close to this level, and while I have ridden all of em, I still walk em on the day, if I don't feel I have the Mojo! No shame, what so ever, showing up at work on Monday, in one piece. Thank you Remy, for another fine video.
Pure artistry from you both! Never ceases to amaze me how Steve makes incredibly difficult features look so effortless, and seeing you Remy just attack features with such confidence is epic. Shout-out Alex (@the_frenchliner) for capturing all the action, that rear-wheel tracking doesn't go unnoticed ;)
Total admiration. True professional with your take on riding. Bottom line, know how your feeling and know your limits on any given day. Cheers to both of you....!
@svanderhoek...big respect for sending it for everyone and also knowing when to say no. It's a good lesson for the young shredders too: you should commit if you feel up to it, nit if your friends are telling you to send it. Thanks for the great content.
Hey Remy, that's incredible. Something like that is actually not drivable at all - but I saw it in the video. I'm getting dizzy just watching it! You are really professionals! The normal biker is only amazed here, what you do for a performance! Keep it up!!! - you are the best crack ever!
The skill level is off the charts here. These guys are top tier. Wish I could attempt even half these features but I’d have to have 400mm rotors on a planet with half the gravity to be able to reduce my kinetic energy to have even have a portion of the braking control they have. It’s not just a game of skill but physics. Love these boys. Keep them coming but be safe. Love that Steve held back when he didn’t feel it. Respect.
It's good to hear the pros have the same doubts on features that they've done before but some days you just don't feel it. Sometimes you got to trust and believe in yourself and sometime you have to walk away and save it for another day.
Really love watching these guys ride together. Neither of them tries to outdo the other. Respecting each other’s decisions and building confidence together. That’s what riding is all about 👍cheers from Germany guys✌️
Love watching y'all ride the gnarliest features in B.C! Steve watching that crash last year was rough. Watching you come back from that was amazing. Good on ya for not doing it this time since you weren't 100% feeling it. Rémy amazing as always!
I'm not sure I'd make it down the run in! but I still love watching these videos. Amazing skill, humbleness and good honest advice to less skilful riders
One of your best videos yet Remy, I’ve learned more from watching you ride and prepare to hit features than anyone else and my riding improves thanks to your awesome content. 🙌🏽🤙🏾
I've always reminded myself to ride within my skills limit and this video solidified it more. Thank you for reminding us that we should ride to satisfy ourselves and not just make decisions based on other peoples influences.
That last feature. Like it amazing me the braking control the sound of the tires skippin! You can see the rear end is on edge moving around but in control. Almost like you are trail braking going all the way down Amazing! 🤙🏽👊🏽
You guys are great leaders in our sport! Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and the process of building up to hard features. This is a really excellent video, it is educational and inspiring!
Hey, Rémy, another outstanding video, thank you for posting it. I keep watching your videos and dreaming on having at least a bit of the skills you have but....I believe not in this life....I hope in my next one kkkk. But serious, now: all conversations you both had about choosing the lines and, more important, when simply opt out of a drop is too much important to pass by. Congratulations for allowing us to hear that. When we see extremelly capable riders opt out of a drop and point out they opted out simply because they weren't feeling ok for it, is gold, man. I respect you even more. We, regular riders, NEED TO LISTEN THOSE KIND OF STUFF
Every time I watch your videos, I think how could anyone before, when building the obstacle, think that you could ride something like that. And then you are riding this so controlled. Always crazy to watch
Love this video and the message you have presented. Insane lines! Had a big crash a few weeks ago and have been building back that mental confidence! 🤙
I watch and love you both as riders and mentors. I run a bike shop/MTB Camp in NorCal, and am taking two of our groms out to Northstar tomorrow for closing day. One of them (11 years old)) crashed here this summer and hasn't felt the same since. I'm going to watch this video with them in the morning before we ride, and reference it as we ride and discuss how to approach features and build back methodically after a crash. Thank you both for what you do, how you do it, and your spirit. @firstmilecycle
You guys are just awesome. To share the side of your ride that deals with fear and how you manage it and take the right decisions is a enormous proof of humility. This is really inspirational for those who follow you to learn how to improve our riding in or our journey. Thanks for sharing!!!
REAL GREATNESS Is To Be Able To "Eat It" And NOT Do It, If It Is Really Not Safe To Do It. Steve, You Showed REAL GREATNESS, And With That You Set A Good Example And Are An Inspiration For ALL Riders !!! Hats Off !!!
Merci Rémy ! Superbe démonstration d'engagement et de contrôle. La combinaison des deux est inspirante. Suis fan !! Bravo à Steve qui revient encore plus en maîtrise après son énorme crash de l'an dernier. Respect !
Really great video, I think you guys really made a point. Teaching people to take a smart step back at the right times, especially in a world were many just try to show off, it’s really honourable, thank you 🙏
Good to see Steve back at it, really surprised that after that crash you still choose to not wear protective gear.Just wondering,if you could explain.Peace and stay safe fellows.
I just got back from BC being an Australian these features are so insane the go pro does nothing for the steepness of these drops , Remy your the man and the guys that follow you. Keep these videos coming inspiring
Seeing Steve not sure about a feature is 100% a first and just shows how crazy the stuff you guys are doing, I have never seen Remy miss a single beat on any terrain.
Thanks man! Ya I felt totally at peace walking away from that feature that day. I have done it a ton but was exhausted there and it just didn’t feel right. If I can help anyone learn from my mistakes without having to go through the same brutal recovery process then that’s a win
As someone who gets easily spooked, it's really inspiring to see that pros are humans too. You really analyze the situation, stay humble and still send it, love it! Merci, de la part d'un français expatrié à Squamish 💪

You guys are true professionals. That mindset you showed in the video applies to every rider in their riding progression. Well done
Much appreciated!
You're basically watching the pinnacle of extreme Mountain Biking right here. These guys are the top 1%. Literal do or die moves. Incredible to watch
so much respect to steve for knowing when to call it a day. It's tough to make that decision, but it's really important.

When Steve is involved you know it's going to be a gnarly one. This one did not disappoint either. 👍👍
Knowing that the cameras don’t do these features justice is even more mind blowing, because damn they look gnarly! Props to both of y’all.
This video earned my thumbs pretty early with that toilet paper joke 😂. But seriously, Remy’s videos are the best. His combination of guts and skill is amazing, and he always imparts important lessons that are clear and caring
Thank you!
@@remymetailler any reason for the swap back to the coil for this video? Or do you change it up sometimes?
I had a blast seeing and capturing you both sending it all day on these insane features, masterclass!
Thanks Alex. Phenomenal work as always my friend. Looking forward to the next one.
Could you send it too? In the videos your riding skills look almost as good as Remy's
All the way from de suburbzzzz
A true masterclass on how to not die on a mountain top!Jeese louise that was clever dude!

My two favorite riders. These types of videos are the best- awesome riding and incredible insights into pro level thinking.
You guys rock.
Glad you like them!

i like how open and comfortable they are with each other about fear .... this is so wholesome to watch
Steve is absolutely slept on, what a weapon. Nice to see you guys work through some big features.

Glad you like them!

A true masterclass on tech thats how it feels with every video you upload not just watching someone ride, you're an excellent teacher
The rule I follow is: Do not let your mind write checks your body can't cash! This is a valuable video that underscores experience and deliberation...
@svanderhoek...big respect for sending it for everyone and also knowing when to say no. It's a good lesson for the young shredders too: you should commit if you feel up to it, nit if your friends are telling you to send it. Thanks for the great content.
I remember standing on the top ledge of Dynamite Roll once... I cannot believe the way you guys just send it down like that. INSANE!

This is such a good lesson for mountain bikers of all skill levels. Respect
This is such a great video! Two world class athletes working together to show how to safety build progression and confidence.
This was a masterclass on tackling challenging features in an intelligent way. 🙌🏻
Unreal riding on amazing looking trails! This is true freeride

I appreciate that!
Love to see the process and how every decision you make are weel calculated! You guys are awesome to watch,
Our pleasure!
Great message. Assess the risks, it is ok to skip features.
Beautiful video. Loving the lack of music. Knowing when to say "nah, I'll leave that for tomorrow" is awesome.
I've always reminded myself to ride within my skills limit and this video solidified it more.
Thank you for reminding us that we should ride to satisfy ourselves and not just make decisions based on other peoples influences.

Steve is such an enrichment for this channel! Great video as always, Rémy!
Glad you think so!
these 2 lads are just monster riders.. big up to Steve a massively talented and humble rider!
Nice vid! Steve is one of my favorite riders. I dont blame him for passing on the final feature considering his fall there last year.
Every time I watch your videos, I think how could anyone before, when building the obstacle, think that you could ride something like that. And then you are riding this so controlled. Always crazy to watch
Some of this features only Steve, Yo and I have ridden them
Love this video and the message you have presented. Insane lines! Had a big crash a few weeks ago and have been building back that mental confidence! 🤙

I totally respect Steve’s decision to not ride the last feature this time. You guys are the best 🤙😝
24:38 just can't stop grinning at this...and glad Steve listened to his inner voice.
Incredible! The skills on show here are quite something. The thought you put into each feature is inspiring. Amazing!
Perfect mental game and very important information for amateur riders! Thanks!
much needed video for the mtb community, thanks Remy and Steve. shits getting bonkers these days. the kids need a reality check
Was great seeing you guys that day! Insane to see how easy you make these things look in person. Keep it up 🤘

Steve, You Showed REAL GREATNESS, And With That You Set A Good Example And Are An Inspiration For ALL Riders !!!
Hats Off !!!
Well said!
Have to be committed 100%. Crazy terrain. Keep up with the great videos
I had to make this choice just last week end, 3000m mountain unkown trail, zero telephone signal. Better to go back.
much respect! much admiration!!!
Merci Rémy ! Superbe démonstration d'engagement et de contrôle. La combinaison des deux est inspirante. Suis fan !!
Bravo à Steve qui revient encore plus en maîtrise après son énorme crash de l'an dernier. Respect !
Awesome lines! 🔥 Great sending guys! 🤘
Thanks a ton!
Damn, I would need the TP just contemplating a ride off of the first feature. And that was the "warm up!"
I could watch you two smoke this gnar all day! Sick video!!
Mad respect ! Walk away come back another day.
Trio Infernale🔥 Alex's filming ON POINT! And u two guys riding this stuff....kind a not from this planet😨😱👌! How the hell🔥❤
It was lovely time to watch you on such a crazy stuff :) .
@steve vandorvek is riding great! Even after that crash, I know how difficult is to regain confidence.
Really great video, I think you guys really made a point. Teaching people to take a smart step back at the right times, especially in a world were many just try to show off, it’s really honourable, thank you 🙏
So good. Love the balanced conversation about safe progression. All of these features are badass too.
Some crazy great riding guys. Always listen to your inner voice. Thanks
Good to see Steve back at it, really surprised that after that crash you still choose to not wear protective gear.Just wondering,if you could explain.Peace and stay safe fellows.
I'll let him comment on that
What gear would actually help?
It’s the no glove thing that kills me.
Just a question, considering the video is coming from a safe way to progress?
great video and as well I love that you talked about the features and were your heads were at with each features
Glad you liked it!

You know its getting gnarly when remy pulls out the full face😂🤘
Epic, Insightful, and extremely high risk! The sickest wisdom combo to date! Thank you!!
Glad you liked it!
Two of my favorites riders sending it without any sense 🤪. Awesome! You’re legends 🙌🏻
Great stuff. Love seeing you and Steve break things down
More to come!
That line actually looks insane! Nice video keep up the good content!
As someone who gets easily spooked, it's really inspiring to see that pros are humans too. You really analyze the situation, stay humble and still send it, love it! Merci, de la part d'un français expatrié à Squamish 💪
Absolutely!
Steve took that second drop so steezy it was like a sweet off the lip if he was surfing
Sick video guy's, and big respect to walk away and come back another day
Any video with Steve is a good one
Ohhhh thanks!
Remy riding with a full face. Gnarly stuff to come.
Steve is a cool dude!
He is for sure
Those were gnarly features. Great riding.
Rocks are dry, sun isn't shining, birds aren't singing too much, perfect day in my book 🎉
Glad you're putting safety first for all of us 😂
Rock on!
Remy is the man, sick video!
