Game elements look like 2010s graphics when the environment is like real life.
These are indie games. That's the downside of these kind of starter companies. No budget (thus no money to hire an expensive team) to implement any real fancy gameplay elements. That's why most indie games are walking sims.
Support them and their next game will give them more budget and more tools/people to work with.
Blooper team is an example. Still not a highly regarded dev, so maybe not the best example out there, but they started as an indie dev too and because of support they're now working on the SH2 Remake

It happened with PT (Silent Hills) too about a decade ago but unfortunately it never released. Hopefully it doesn't share the same fate.
Not gonna lie, already getting tired of this genre. It was cool the first 2-3 times, now literally every other indie game is trying to replicate the hype.

There's something so funny about just being shot by some dude, like, you have these horrible incomprehensible monsters chasing you and then you simply get shot.
We dont know the concept, maybe they take control of humans. Or maybe the player itself is possessed.

Most of the enviro is 3D assets from the Unreal Engine megascans library...not sure about the characters.
All the recognizable stock sound effects really bring out the B-grade movie feel

Precisely this aesthetic will bring nostalgia for those who played games like Silent Hills on 2000's with 3D graphics in their time but this one, more defined
The night part looked pretty scary, graphics are life like it's crazy.
Got that Silent Hill mood when that Siren plays on as it turns dark all of a sudden.
Ok but why is the police chatter at the beginning the exact same as the stock chatter in GTA 2 for the original PlayStation

It looks like it is footage of the real world while all of the NPCs got their costumes from Party City and all of the audio is just that free CD that came with your parent's fog machine. They've also included the footsteps from Half-Life as a bonus. I'll just wait a few months and go to Field of Screams of ShocktoberFest. They are both cheaper and also have food.

Trailers like this are a great argument for why we need more "walking simulator" games. The environments look amazing. This looks like it would be a neat, spooky little area to explore. But no, we also have to collect Slenderman pages and run away from poser model assets like it's still 2010.

Did Unrecord cause an influx of this graphics genre? I've seen quite a lot of games recently trying to replicate the hyperrealistic graphics (not RTX)

HDR is doing its job, but the tetures are really low-res and the environments are really low-poly. But then again, maybe they are going for a look closer to the year the game takes place?
