'Break up the family' by Morressey is a great track to react to or 'Piccadilly Palare'. Glad you can appreciate the uniqueness of Morressey/The Smiths!
I think the abrupt entrance of the guitars after the slow piano at the opening of Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me, is supposed to represent suddenly waking in an emotional state from a vivid dream. Possibly a wet dream. Only Morrissey could sing about such a thing.
My favorites are: Well I wonder, Rubber ring, Back to the old house (Hatful of hollow version), Bigmouth strikes again, The boy with the thorn in his side, Ask, There is a light that never goes out, What she said, That joke isn't funny anymore, Shoplifters of the world unite, Unloveable, Asleep, You just haven't earned yet, baby, I don't owe you anything. There are many wonderful songs by them.
Growing up in the north of England in the 80's you have an affinity to the smiths that is hard for outsiders to understand yet their message still gets out there, it was a grim but exciting time, it can only be understood by those who lived it and the smiths explained it better than anyone.
The smiths are amazing!!! Glad y enjoyed them too , hand in glove was there first song released , and also should listen to first in the gang a single by morrissey great memories of my dad playing in the car when I was younger.
You sucked my in with your Worrying title, but you of course came to the correct conclusion! The Smiths were amazing, influential, and left a long legacy and fabulous catalogue. Listen to Paint a Vulgar Picture, Unhappy Birthday, Reel Around the Fountain, There is a Light That Never Goes Out!! To be fair they are all good.
I feel sick. Never will there ever be songs like this ever again. I grew up with the Smiths, getting older with the Smiths and will die listening to them.
Great reaction! I think most of us have heard these songs many, many times. It is just nice to hear the reaction and perspective from someone hearing these classics for the first time. I would add "Well I Wonder" to consider for a reaction one of these days.
Some girls……..This track is addictive, even the instrumental version. So simple yet so emotionally full in the music. Have you ever reviewed Automatic Man? Atlantis Rising/Coming Thru cut I recommend if not. Some bands, are older than others,…. Lol
I remember well in the UK when The Queen Is Dead album was originally released, so many people returned the record to the shop in which they purchased it. Simply due to the song Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others. As the song fades in and then immediately drops out again only to be faded back in again only longer this time, the fans thought there was a mastering issue on the vinyl pressing or cassette tape. They had no idea it was intentional and assumed this to be an error and thus requested a replacement copy. 😊
I'm just a Morrissey.... You friend âre a gorgeous man....si vous plait play ás many Smiths en Morrissey as you can. You make my heart full..... Merci beaucoup. I will tell you i grew up with the Smiths in the 80s. Shows me age... But there is nothing like listening to dat voice in the French Quarters of New Orleans. It is magical....saw Morrissey at the theatre on Canal ßtreet. I passed out.......❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wow king of the mix, nailed it again, and 3 Smiths as well! Loved it. You seem to be really open to new experiences musically and the Smiths don’t disappoint! I’d like to put an spotlight on the lyrics, Mozzer has always raged against artists who never used their privilege as an artist to raise other peoples consciousness ( think booty/ gangsta rap to i wanna hold your hand bullshit) together with the riffs and base it maker for the most interesting music i’ve even come across. Favs? All! Best? Nowhere fast/ rubber ring/ still ill/ i know its over/…/…/… greets from Amsterdam! HT
Loved your video! Hope you react more to them in the future! Here are some song recommendations of them: This charming man The boy with the thorn in his side There is a light that never goes out I know its over Half a person Back to the old house
Awesome! So glad you enjoyed those ones. Maybe try the following next: This Charming Man (Peel Session) -- there's 2 versions, but I reckon start with the Peel version What Difference Does It Make I know It's Over
I dare throw my hat in the ring, please react to Wonderful Woman by The Smiths. It defeats the monotony of reacting to the same smiths songs on YT, and one could argue, top 5 song of theirs, while being a b side track, a B SIDE!
Don't know who picked these but you got the real magic music picks. I would have added Old House ans Asleep. Morrissey solo Yes I am Blind, Nobody Loves Us and I have changed my plea to guilty
strange threesome to react to. the first song is my favourite. two others to react to are 'there is a light that never goes out' and 'stop me if you think that you have heard this one before' ✌️
"Why did they name the album - The Queen is Dead?" - well lots of people consider Morrissey to be quite depressing, but in reality he's always been a raging optimist and quite singularly ahead of his time.
Marr and Morrissey were big fans of girl group Pop in America. Hence most of the titles of their songs at some point where a twist on their favourite songs . Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now . Heaven knows I’m missing him now. All music is prism. Borrow and Steel wisely
Who is giving you these songs to react to? 🤦🏾♀️ Big Mouth Strikes Again, There is a Light That Never Goes Out, This Charming Man, How Soon Is Now, Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now - please
Those are great songs, but not considered their best. 3 of the most popular are “How Soon is Now, This Charming Man, There is a Light that Never Goes Out. “
The smiths are a lot of things- but overrated isn’t one of them.
They certainly have gotten the recognition and praise that they deserve by critics and music publications.
The first song always makes me cry 🥲🥲🥲
It gets better Fam.
For some reason it's Paint A Vulgar Picture that always makes me cry!
"Send me the pillow...the one that dream on...and I'll send you mine."
lol love this song and that part always gives me a funny feeling, so edgy so brilliant
'Break up the family' by Morressey is a great track to react to or 'Piccadilly Palare'.
Glad you can appreciate the uniqueness of Morressey/The Smiths!
Great choices! 👍"Break Up The Family" is a nice little gem! This is on Morrissey's first solo album "Viva Hate" for those who might not know.
“I wish this one could be longer” … best comment yet

as Morrissey described it, 'from the ice age to the dole age'.
The smiths are amazing!!! Glad y enjoyed them too , hand in glove was there first song released , and also should listen to first in the gang a single by morrissey great memories of my dad playing in the car when I was younger.
Last night i dream't somebody loved me was my gateway into the smiths, now it's every day
Well I wonder is the best Smiths song ever imo
You sucked my in with your Worrying title, but you of course came to the correct conclusion! The Smiths were amazing, influential, and left a long legacy and fabulous catalogue.

Saw them for my 15th birthday at Aragon Ballroom in Chicago May of 1985. I'm still in love with Johnny Marr! ❤
Siamo in 2 visto che li passo spesso alla RADIO GAMMA 5 CAMPODARSEGO, in striming la trovi

There is something other worldly, like it's from a universe just a touch away
Morrissey is a god

Hey, I'd love to see your reaction to this band called Manic Street Preachers (very popular here in UK). I recommend their song "4st 7lb" or "Yes"
Don't know who picked these but you got the real magic music picks. I would have added Old House ans Asleep. Morrissey solo Yes I am Blind, Nobody Loves Us and I have changed my plea to guilty

How soon is now…!
"Why did they name the album - The Queen is Dead?" - well lots of people consider Morrissey to be quite depressing, but in reality he's always been a raging optimist and quite singularly ahead of his time.
it's gonna be 77 for 77, or whatever the number is
Every Smiths track is a banger, exept for Golden Lights. Never listen to Golden Lights.!!
I even like Golden Lights. Better than anything off of California Son.
it will sneak up on you, eventually
Marr and Morrissey were big fans of girl group Pop in America.
Hence most of the titles of their songs at some point where a twist on their favourite songs .
Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now .
Heaven knows I’m missing him now.
All music is prism.
Borrow and Steel wisely
Just bought, again Hatful of Hollow @ $40 CAD. Opposed to about £5 when it first came out. I think the queen is dead is a homage to the Sex Pistols.
Cold play really. Suicide music 😅😅😅😅 ,

Nope the smiths were ace .. overrated see Coldplay the beige of the music industry or oasis 3 chord beatle rip off .
The Smiths were hated by music industry because they refused to give in to the industry. That's why Morrissey is so vilified to this date
Disappointed...is the best from Morrissey
YES!!! Very overrated
