His character has two kids at this time in season one. You can’t live like “it’s your last day” when you have a family to protect and support. What a guy! Lol 😂

@@danmarsh6448 precisely! I haven't finished it yet, but the first seasons are all about how Don's persona is just one big cover for his insecurities and traumas. Also, dude is a walking contradiction. One day he's telling his team the ad is not sexy enough, but the next morning he's telling his wife not to wear a bikini.
That's why Don's character is so brilliant, because he's too human

The first sentence is true enough as far as it goes. But the idea that living as though there is no tomorrow is the solution leads to error. Unless one is planning to make sure there is no tomorrow by taking some definite action to ensure this, it's best to keep some of everything in reserve to meet tomorrow's challenges.

The thing I can never get out of my head is that Jon Hamm does this little "mmm no he didn't" z-type sashay with his head between the words "I", "never", "forget" - then grins like he fully expects this to be an outtake. The dialogue is so gravid with dark meaning and he's being a goof

Alls I know is that tomorrow is not guaranteed. So while I'm not suggesting to not plan for tomorrow, I'm not suggesting to go overboard planning for it either. You either will or won't be here tomorrow. And that is based on what you do or don't do today. It's not complicated.

I would bet on Don everyday of the week and twice on Sundays. If it came down to it between him and Jax he could become the marketing agency for Indian, put Harley out of business, and Jax would be walking. Don would then run him over with the new car he just bought after he littered in the field and was done with the family picnic. He would then get with Betty Tara that stoner artist he hangs with sometimes and then bring some rando back to his apartment to finish things off for the night. Don is the man.
