Nimona is so comforting because it shows society unlearning the hate/ prejudice they had despite that hatred being ingrained in everyone for 1000 years 💖 everyone deserves to be seen and loved for who they are
As a trans person the part that had hit me the closest was the line "protect your way of life" (something like that) in the director's posters around the city. Nimona's power is a allegory to her gender expression and also what made her a monster in societys eyes, it reminded me so bad of how trans people are now vilanized and painted as this undercover danger that will corrupt families etc. Reminded me of the huge amount of anti-trans politics being discussed all around the world. I SO fell in love with this movie and have been slowly spreading the word to my friends keeping a lot of details to myself just to hide my excitement. Then their reactions after they know what I'm about to say because I say it in the lot of movies but they've come to get used to it.. "So did you notice the queer subtext?!?"
I never got into the graphic novel and the film's animation isn't really my style, but everyone has such good things to say, so I may get into it one day.
seeing that Disney was going to release this makes me glad that they didn't because this feels to cathartic for Disney to make. since this is ("kind of a parody") of Disney tropes that they perpetuate. so if they did make it then it would have felt like they were talking down to there old stories.
Before this I saw the new transformers movie and was left unsatisfied. It was bland, forgettable, had no substance, and was worst of all boring. About two days after I saw that me and my cousin were talking about Nimona and we were both intrigued. The art style looked cute and unique and i heard that it was good so I figured that it would be worth a shot. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Me and my cousin were both left speechless by the end of it. This movie had heart, creativity, passion, soul, and a deep message and it was all done masterfully. It honestly felt like a crime that I didn’t have to pay a single cent to watch this. This film deserves to be shown on the big screen. It was such a nice pallet cleanser after watching rise of the beasts. This is hands down the best film of 2023! I honestly haven’t felt this way about an animated film since Puss in boots the last wish. Now I personally think that’s the better film and is still my favorite animated movie mainly because of some personal connections with it but in terms of animated films Nimona is definitely a close second. I’d give it a solid 9/10 there were some slight flaws with it and just a tiny few issues but none that significantly distracted from the experience. This film is undoubtedly a masterpiece and I really hope that it gets the recognition that it more than deserves.
My entire existence is a Kamen Rider Reference. Jokes aside thanks so much for having me mate : )

When he starts using music from the best animated franchise of all time, that's how you know the movie's a banger.

Nimona is my favorite movie of all time as well and I also love the graphic novel.

Shark :)
I am convinced Disney tried to kill this movie ‘cause it made all their other movies look like crap in comparison
