Anna Gunn (Skyler) noted right when the final season began that they couldn't end the series on a positive note, considering how evil some of the characters had been and what they caused.
Anna Gunn got a lot of hate because people didn't like Skyler's character when she was giving Walt a hard time. But as an actress Anna Gunn absolutely killed it. Her performance in Ozymandias hits HARD. The fight with Walt and realizing he took her baby. That just felt so REAL and HEARTBREAKING. Unbelievable performance.
Still one of (if not THE) best written, directed, and acted drama series that television has to offer. Started watching during the airing of the pilot and never missed an episode until the finale. Great reactions throughout as always, guys. Thank you for the great times youve given us
Asia was right. Walter called the DEA from the bar then left the handset dangling because he was going to wait for them and turn himself in, after the call with Junior didn't go how he expected. But then he saw Elliot and Gretchen saying what they said on TV, and that triggered him, so he changed his mind.
The spinoff, 'Better Call Saul' is an absolute treat if you love 'Breaking Bad'! The first season is a very slow burn, but things really begin to cook at a certain point and in some ways is better. Also has events happen that add extra depth to 'Breaking Bad'. Highly recommended! Loved watching this again with you two 💝💝
El Camino is a movie that continues right from the end of the series with Jesse, and then there is Better Call Saul which follows Saul from before, during and after the events of Breaking Bad.
I’ve always liked how Walter’s death is described like this in the script: "Bird's Eye View: We look straight down on Walt as he tumbles into frame, lying flat on his back on the floor. His eyes stare up at us, lifeless. And yet, his final expression is one of faint satisfaction. We slowly CRANE UP, UP and AWAY from him. Walt shrinks smaller and smaller in frame. POLICE OFFICERS approach him now -- four, six, eight of them. They move in cautiously, their guns aimed. They're too late. He got away"
Here's something else: remember the Marty Robbins song at the beginning? Walt was also singing it to himself when he was making the gun mechanism. The song is called "El Paso," and it's about a cowboy who kills a man over a woman, then leaves town before the posse can get him. But he returns to town to see the woman one more time, even though he knows he's going to be killed. This is exactly what Walt did...he returned to town to take care of final business, and he knew he would never make it out again. The woman in the song? Her name is "Felina," which is the title of this episode. And get ready for this..."Felina" is an anagram of..."finale."

Skinny Pete: "The whole thing felt kinda shady, morality-wise" (Walt hands them each $10,000) "How do you feel now?" Skinny Pete: "Better" Badger: "Improving"
"theres a movie baaaabe" 😂😂.. theres been a few comments through the series, me being one of them, that el camino is a follow up movie that should be watched before better call saul. great reactions throughout the series though, you're the first channel i've stuck through a whole series with from start to finish. looking forward to the movie reaction and hopefully some BCS.
Finally watched through all of these reactions. Show was just as great as I remember. All the arcs, roles, chaos, drama. Definitely went out with a bang. Still find the concept that he spent allll that effort working for that money for his family...had the money...lost his family....money was useless...essentially lost everything. You go from feeling bad for him at the beginning to realizing he eventually does most, if not all this to himself as he could've got out multiple times and just took that fat stack, cut and run. He just couldn't stop because that's who he became. That ego, pride and greed can get the best of us. This was just a top tier show with amazing performances from damn near everyone. Great reactions.
Early in the series Jesse and Walt were stuck in desert and Jesse suggests Walt build a robot to get them out of there.. In the finale, Walt builds a robot to save them.
The script of BB itself is pretty interesting. One of the last lines of the script is: "They're too late. He got away." This basically tells us that even in death Walt was never caught by the police.
I’ll say this now and others will likely agree… YOU CANNOT SKIP EL CAMINO! It is essential to get the full picture of the story and to wrap up critical loose ends at the end of the finale.

El Camino is the rest of Jesse’s story. Written and produced by the BB writers and producers. It’s a highly worthy watch for a reaction. Then watch Better Call Saul for the rest of Saul’s story. It’s excellent. Thank you both for sharing your experience with us. You were so perceptive and funny. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you both. And kudos to BJ who always remembers characters’ names. It’s a gift.
yesssss please watch better call saul after!!! its a somewhat different vibe and feel, but i think has even better character arcs and development and is another perfect show. i prefer breaking bad but both are so wonderful!
@@elia_simon agreed. Better call saul is so so so close to bb. Maybe better. But its all preference. I love this universe and still got my fingers crossed for another edition.
The sheer perfection of this show is indescribable. The journey from Walter to Heisenberg and back again…epic. When he finally admits to Skylar that he did it for him…nothing like time alone in the middle of nowhere to really make you think. Him rescuing Jesse is the icing to it all for me. And him not letting Todd’s uncle finish his sentence…exactly how he killed Hank ::chefs kiss:: Right down to him dying right by the batch Jesse was cooking…as far as the cops know, it was him cooking and that was their “proof”. His look of pride walking through, looking at how Jesse was cooking…he finally taught him some chemistry. Just…perfection. So happy y’all enjoyed this as much as we all did watching you. El Camino really completes it for me, too. Knowing Jesse is safe and starting over…always makes me smile.
Wait was it ever mentioned that he went there to make it seem like he was the one cooking to maybe take any attention off of Jesse? If so that's awesome, but I just thought it was only him going back and reminiscing about the chemistry and the equipment
@@codubhlaoich I don’t think anyone’s mentioned it as actual fact. I drew that conclusion on my own, really. I mean, he’s known for the blue meth, there’s a batch cooking, he’s lying there dead…then the cops sweep through. His handprints are on everything, he was touching it as he walked, right down to the bloody print. It makes sense they would assume it was his work. To me, at least.
I thought that I was savvy. I never noticed that, and of course Walter did that on purpose. No question his love for Hank ran deep, brothers on different sides of the law.
I agree completely. And it was even more heartbreaking hearing Jesse's otherworldly screams after it happened. I remember sitting stonefaced staring at the wall for a long time after the episode ended.
A little fun fact about the title "Felina" 1. Felina is an anagram for "Finale" 2. Felina also contains the chemical formulae of three elements; Iron (Fe), Lithium (Li), Sodium (Na). 3. Iron is a part of blood. Lithium is used in producing Meth. Sodium makes the salt in our tears. The episode's name therefore means "Blood, Meth & Tears"
Remember what Jesse said to Hank “He’s the devil! Whatever you plan to do to him, the exact opposite will happen to you!😅.” That’s what happened to Todd and his team. They planned to kill Walt but the exact opposite happened. Brilliant foreshadowing and brilliant writing.
The song playing at the end as Walt is caressing the lab equipment and dying is Baby Blue by Badfinger. It expresses the pride Walt had maintained from the beginning about his product, which was known as Blue. He even came clean with Skyler that he did it for himself. It made him feel like he was finally the best at something which validated his life and rescued him from his past failures. That song couldn't have been more perfect for where it was placed.
I think the police showing up right at the last second was also symbolic of Heisenberg always being one step ahead of the police and never getting caught.
@@TankGamingADHDYeah, I forgot about it until it was mentioned in one of Asia and BJ’s live streams when they were taking suggestions for us to vote on during the stream. When someone mentioned Better Call Saul, someone in chat said to watch “El Camino” first. So, I assume they will do a reaction to it based on Asia and BJ’s reaction as the last episode finished. At least, I hope they do.
Aaron Paul (Jesse) spoke about how he had to be careful in the scene were Todd gets strangled. He wanted to make it look realistic, but he didn't want to actually ending up choking to death the actor playing Todd.😂
@@thegirlinquestion I can't stop thinking about when Blind Wave reacted to BB and one of the guys said about Todd "He looks like Matt Damon did in the movie Game Night"... and of course the thing is that Matt Damon is NOT in _Game Night,_ it's Jesse Plemons 😂
@@Rand0mHero713It was mainly because it wasn't all that good in comparison, so the hype for it died down extremely fast and there wasn't a big demand for reactions for it.
It's sad to see this series is over. I truly looked forward and completely enjoyed being on the Breaking Bad journey with you both. Thanks for letting us watch you experience this amazing show each week.
They absolutely stuck the landing on this show, better than any other show I've seen. And that scene with Andrea is one of the most heart wrenching in television history. Aaron Paul acted his friggin heart out.
Better Call Saul show is also worth checking out. It's the backstory to how he became Saul Goodman... but it also completes his story by showing what became of him after the events of Breaking Bad.
My favorite part of the finale is how Walt was always in the background and on first watch you won't notice him right away until he literally makes a move. The whole series he's always thinking on his feet and his antagonists are always 10 steps ahead and he's always trying to get credit. But in this episode he's in the background, 10 steps ahead of everyone else, and knew exactly how it had to end. Also shooting Jack the same way Jack shot Hank was such great symmetry.
I don't know if someone already mentioned this, but at the beginning of Episode 16 when Walt is in the snow covered car, and the keys just fell from the sunvisor, he turned on the radio and "Felina" was playing by Marty Robbins. That song was specifically chosen because if you rearrange the letters it spells Finale. Such incredible details in this show!
If you know what that songs about - as soon as I heard the song I knew how things were going to end for Walt. Also the song is actually called “El Paso,” not Felina, but Felina is a character in it.
@@MrJethroq Right! Like the narrator in “El Paso,” Walter leaves his safe hiding place to return to his true love (his family? Jesse? The Blue Meth?!) even though he knows he’ll likely die in doing so.
@@MrJethroq thank you! I don't know where I read about it, but the whole Felina/Finale thing surprised me. It doesn't work with it being El Paso, but oh well!
Such a great ending for the series. Everything gets addressed, and everyone gets their justice. The scene at the bar is just brilliant writing. Walter is at his limit, no more options, no more plotting, desperately trying to just get something to his family and when he gets rejected he gives up and finally moves to do what Saul advised him to from the start in order to benefit his family and save them from prosecution. Only to at the last moment be struck by his sense of pride in essence waking the beast for one last hurrah. You gotta remember, Walter is a Nobel Lauriet, whose ideas helped to found Greymatter, and from the onset he's had resentment towards them in regards to where he is in life compared to where he feels he should be. It was the inspiration for his breaking bad. He always said it was for his family, but the truth is it was always for his pride. Imagine what a man of his calculating mind and ruthless ambition might have accomplished on the side of good.
After the phone call with Walt Jr Walter completely gave up. Realized it was hopeless. Called the DEA and was ready to turn himself in. It was the TV interview with Gretchen and Elliot that lit a new fire in him.
It was an absolute pleasure watching this series with you guys, I looked forward to your reactions every week, from the start of the show. Thanks for your efforts!
That’s how fragile his ego was. He was humbled by the interaction with his son. Ready to turn himself in. And one small bite to his fragile ego and whoop it all went straight back to sht and he was at it again.
"Im gonna kill Jack and his entire crew, take back my money and give it to my family. Only then am I done.". The entire plot of the finale is laid out right there. Just amazing that he pulled it off all by himself. And releasing Jesse was something he hadn't planned on, but was another good deed that just presented itself.
I love how at the beginning of season 5 Walt told Saul "we're done when I say we're done" and at the end of the season Walt tries to say it again to Saul but can't even finish the sentence due to his deteriorating health.. it's the perfect way to show that Walt is no longer the king..
What an ending. It sucks that Jesse had to be working as a slave for the neo-Nazis in the last three episodes of the series, seeing Andrea killed with the threat of Brock being next if he doesn’t continue and watching Walt lose everything which was his fault in the first place since he blackmailed Jesse into cooking with him otherwise he’d turn him over to the police and then seeing his ego come out and basically consume him. Seeing Saul leave with a new identity is a good lead into Better Call Saul and Robert Forster as Ed the disappearer is awesome. He was great in his appearance here. Also, seeing Walt do what he could in the end to get his money to his kids through Gretchen and Elliott, with Badger and Skinny Pete’s help, him giving Skyler the lottery ticket to help her get out of the mess she’s in because of him and use the ricin finally one someone as well as saving Jesse and killing the Nazis who killed Hank and Gomez, Jesse killing Todd and then Jesse driving away before Walt goes into the meth lab where he falls on the floor and dies from the gunshot wound he got from saving Jesse. Such a great show. I hope you guys watch El Camino and Better Call Saul at some point. Great reactions and I hope you two are doing well. Take care!
Excited to see the reaction. Hope you guys follow with Better Call Saul! It’s a different tone but has shades of breaking bad throughout it and has a hell of a final season!
NOT ONLY WAS THIS ONE OF THE BEST SERIES EVER ON TELEVISION BUT DEFINITELY THE BEST USE OF A SONG IN THE CLOSING CREDITS EVER!!! BABY BLUE WAS THE PERFECT CHOICE!!!!
Asia after the laser pointer scene: "Who was that?" BJ: "Some hired hitmen. He (Walter) knows some big-time criminals." Cut to: Skinny Pete and Badger. LMAO.

When this series first aired, i was floored! My dad had health issues afterwards so he was bedridden. When they re-aired it, i pleaded to watch it, so he did. He got angry like us all waiting every week! He said it was the most amazing show/writing/acting and gave thx to me forcing him to watch it. He unfortunately passed before el camino and Better call Saul. Thx for the reactions....brings back memories discussing the show with him! He was a big movie buff. Try watching Vertigo! Omg! Every few years I’ll introduce this series to a friend and will watch it in its entirety with them. This time around I had some feelings about watching “reactions” to it, but now, at the end, I’m in my feels about it like I am every other time, even though it’s been in clips. I agree that the writing stayed solid throughout the series. I live in Albuquerque, so it's an added treat to see some of the local sites in the show. There is a tour you can take here of some of the locations on the show, and you ride around in an RV like the one they cooked in.

the show has some pretty dark moments, but Andrea's death hit me so hard, she never did anything wrong, she was just living her life, so sad
That one was hard core, she wasn’t in ‘the game’
Yeah, I think that's the saddest death in the entire series
I agree completely. And it was even more heartbreaking hearing Jesse's otherworldly screams after it happened. I remember sitting stonefaced staring at the wall for a long time after the episode ended.
@@jasonm8017 That's an accurate portrayal of reality in the cost of innocent lives. The show writing is excellent!
@@Easy_Skanking So true
A little fun fact about the title "Felina"
1. Felina is an anagram for "Finale"
That's the kind of good reach we can all wrap around to, Fr!
Felina is also referencing a name in the song at the beginning of the episode.
Unironicly bravo vince
Wow...Thanks I love learning stuff like that...cooool
Remember what Jesse said to Hank “He’s the devil! Whatever you plan to do to him, the exact opposite will happen to you!😅.” That’s what happened to Todd and his team. They planned to kill Walt but the exact opposite happened. Brilliant foreshadowing and brilliant writing.
Well, the exact opposite would be they all living happily ever after
Great series. Next is Better Call Saul or El Camino to see Saul's story or Jesse's story.
I honestly didn't think I'd like Better Call Saul but it was a true spin-off that stuck to it's Breaking Bad Roots that was written just as well.
Not just Sauls story, but mostly
Saul's story, and everything before Breaking Bad
@@serko8318 And also saul deals with everything after breaking bad.
I'm fine skipping El Camino, it was just average and not all that important imo. But Better Call Saul is on the level of BB, incredible show.
And here we go.
It was almost as if the song was written for this! The producers were phenomenal finding perfect songs!
"The special love I had for you, my Baby Blue"
I think the police showing up right at the last second was also symbolic of Heisenberg always being one step ahead of the police and never getting caught.
You came to the end of one of the best shows in TV history. Great reactions all the way through. Now I have one suggestion for you. Better Call Saul!
Yes, but can we branch off a bit to West Baltimore in The Wire? Avon Barksdale needs to show them how this works.
@@LoneWolf_Cub_Ogami_Itto Watch Oz while they at it lol!

I love how Walt says “Eliot if you’re going to go that way you’ll need a bigger knife” just like Mike would
Fr. Always got Mike vibes from that line
Aaron Paul (Jesse) spoke about how he had to be careful in the scene were Todd gets strangled. He wanted to make it look realistic, but he didn't want to actually ending up choking to death the actor playing Todd.😂
That's Meth Damon to you. 😂
@@LawNerd24Ricky Hitler
@@LawNerd24It’s not tho? Todd was literally played by Jesse Plemons.
@@kryss2056dude it is a joke name because he looks like a knockoff version of matt damon. plus the show is breaking bad. hence, meth damon
Please follow up with El Camino! Love your reactions to this awesome TV series.
This!!
Haven't seen any reaction videos of El Camino. It's like Netflix won't allow it.
@@Head-ck4hunawh there's been a few but El Camino sadly never caught on. Probably from the amount of years that has gone by
@@Rand0mHero713It was mainly because it wasn't all that good in comparison, so the hype for it died down extremely fast and there wasn't a big demand for reactions for it.
Garbage
It's sad to see this series is over. I truly looked forward and completely enjoyed being on the Breaking Bad journey with you both. Thanks for letting us watch you experience this amazing show each week.
Yeah, it feels like a bit of an end of an era for the channel. Hopefully they can hop onto something like The Wire next.
Thanks so much Steven ❤️❤️
You guys are forgetting about El camino and better call saul. I consider them to be breaking bad parts 2 and 3.
@@SixFootTurkey_ The Wire is so damn good.
I really enjoyed this ride with both of you. Hoping to see your reactions to El Camino and Better Call Saul.
Also the final song "baby blue" referring to the blue meth that was his creation for his empire.
@@craigshrimpton5765 thank you! I honestly never made that connection, and only focused on the first line of the song "Guess I got what I deserved".
And, Loving It.
It was an absolute pleasure watching this series with you guys, I looked forward to your reactions every week, from the start of the show. Thanks for your efforts!
Our pleasure! Thanks ❤️❤️
The nod from Walt to Jesse was a “go on, you’re free.”
This was so fun to watch with y’all. Can’t wait to see what’s next. Ozark would be my suggestion if you’re looking to dive into another great series
Ozark and Better Call Saul should be on their list!

100% Ozark is fricking STELLAR.. as is BCS.. you cant go wrong with either. Ozark is a WILD ride.. talk about high stakes.. wow..
@@ricoooooooo BCS/BB is better but Ozark is still a pretty good show overall.
Please don’t put Ozark on the same level as BB and BCS. It’s not even on the same planet in terms of quality.
That’s how fragile his ego was. He was humbled by the interaction with his son. Ready to turn himself in. And one small bite to his fragile ego and whoop it all went straight back to sht and he was at it again.
I'm loving that BJ knows his Marty Robbins
One of the best finales ever! LONG LIVE HEISENBERG🩵
Oh yeah, killed Lydia also.
I like Asia's take that Marie would've had Skyler, Flynn (Walt Jr) and Holly living with her. That's what would have happened in the real world.
Except that Marie (with good cause) blames Skylar for a lot of what happened.
The best finale of the best show of all time. The ending was absolute perfection. What a show!
gotta do Better Call Saul next! the prequel!
22:00 goose bumps
A GIANT milestone in TV. The break 😏 down was dripping off of tongues for days. We wept that it was over. Then came Saul. Then came Camino.
“Two ghosts staring at each other” - PERFECT description of that scene!!!!
I agree
Take care!
Enjoyed watching this back with you guys. Thanks for reactions!
It’s been a pleasure! Thanks Fam ❤️❤️
Many series are fantastic but they drop the ball when it comes time to end it. This one nailed it. Thanks for a great reaction ride.
Asia after the laser pointer scene: "Who was that?"
BJ: "Some hired hitmen. He (Walter) knows some big-time criminals."
Cut to: Skinny Pete and Badger. LMAO.
I knew Robert Forster. Fantastic human being. I was devastated when he passed.
5:25 I remember when watching this episode, I was thinking “Aw, who’s that guy?” Then, I remembered him in “Jackie Brown” as Max Cherry (Robert Forster).
The day after the final episode aired, the Albuquerque Journal actually printed an obituary for "Walter White"
Hope you do Better Call Saul next!

Omg! I agree that the writing stayed solid throughout the series. I live in Albuquerque, so it's an added treat to see some of the local sites in the show. There is a tour you can take here of some of the locations on the show, and you ride around in an RV like the one they cooked in.
