I know you guys have had a rough time during Covid because of unruly passengers and some of you even getting attacked. When my husband and I first met and were newlyweds, he worked for TWA corporate in NYC. We travelled in and out of that JFK TWA terminal many times. How well I remember walking that red carpeted passageway... Back in those days (early 1980's), we could pretty easily get first class (not biz class) RT non-rev seats to Europe for a grand total $32 pp (domestic RT's were $16 pp). Ah, the good old days. Have fun in Wicker Park!!!

And you have to writes reports, talking to crew, pilots, CS staff, ramp people and everyone else. Anyway, the TWA Hotel looks cute. And I do miss flying old L1011 aircraft to Europe and west coast. TWA was a good and I had an Aunt who was a Flight Attendant with them. Yes, you are so right about having your crew with you on the layovers. I would always check with the front desk for the room numbers if I had to call a crew member. And that happened a few times.😀😀 Flying is good! Well, it us a little winding and still cold here in Chicago but we do have sun shine!😀

I think it's great that you take your own food along with you. I imagine it would get expensive fast if you were buying all the time. That is a lovely looking hotel. So glad there were no major issues on the last flight.

I'm surprised they put you at the TWA hotel...they hallways to the rooms are insane...from the elevator to your room! Sorry you had a poopie flight! We stayed there once for the nostalgia, and had a runway view....One time is enough!
Oh, that half shower glass door in the TWA hotel is becoming very popular in hotel renovations. I don't know who came up with this silly idea, it's wrong in so many ways... It allows the water and foam to splash and leak out, unless you shower with very restricted movement. It also allow all the heat the escape, so you end up tuning up the water temperature if it's cold in the rest of the bathroom, which is bad for your skin. Again, I want to meet the doofus that came up with this idea...and make sure he/she get an earful.

Glad you survived that trip from hell! I just got back from LA and both flights to/from LA were cancelled/delayed which was exhausting. I love the TWA hotel and the restaurant there is really nice but super pricey. Oh I think they have a steamer under the sink in lieu of an iron. Have fun in Chicago and stay safe.

The amount of stress you deal with as a #1 is unbelievable. Your nerves must be absolutely frazzled by the end of the day. You should be a pilot, they just sit up front and look out the window and eat lunch. That sounds much easier.
On my to do list this year is to fly to JFK and stay at the JFK Hotel for a couple of nights, plane watch, swim in the pool, have a drink in the Constellation and tour the city.

It’s interesting to see the various social media policies of airlines. Based on what I see on RUclips and TikTok, your airline seems more liberal. A certain major puts the fear of God on its employees about posting anything related to the company so you don’t see much content from their employees.
