- In this video we walk you through fixing a corrupt .mdt video file from a Panasonic G85 camera. We use the tools Video Repair Software by Grau GmbH to first get the video file into a recoverable state. Then fix the video artefacts and corrupt with RUclips.. yes, RUclips.

I just renamed my corrupt files with the exact extention that i was using (mp4) and it works as a charm for my GH5 footages. Don't need to use the application.
Any other places I can upload the video aside from youtube? My video has someone singing a copyrighted song, it won't allow me to download the video :(

Hey! I'm having a bad problem. Shot a wedding and one of the cards was transferring and it seems the sd card reader is faulty and it stopped transferring and corrupted 7 files. Just so happens to be during the ceremony. Maybe cause they are long 4gb clips. Shot on gh4. It's not even showing them in the file numbering. It skips those 7 clips. I've tried multiple things and nothing finds it... I've almost given up. Any help would be gladly appreciated.
Are you able to see those videos on the GH4 directly? If it's just your sd card reader that's faulty you can plug in the GH4 into your computer using the USB cable. From there you can transfer over the files as normal and if they happen to be corrupt you'll see them with a .mdt extension which you can go ahead and rename to .mp4 and follow the guide.
No, I tried putting it back in the gh4 and they're still not there.. :(
Try to write to restore.media support. They can provide you with professional advice; at least they've always replied to my particular inquiries
I tried downloading Grau video repair software but when I try to download it says " Error, missing script file." Recorded a conference and most of the files during the main speaker are corrupt .mdt files due to power failure on camera. I tried changing the files to .mp4 as mentioned by Jean- Yves but that didn't work.
Actually there's a FAQ on the Grau website explaining a workaround. Fingers crossed!

Heya. So I managed to get Grau video repair working. Next after I uploaded the choppy videos to youtube, the quality was terrible so I tried downloading it using Clip Converter which didn't work but I downloaded some Malware instead but thankfully I had Malwarebytes to take out the malware. Next I tried 4K video downloader which worked but the video was still choppy. I realised there were some solutions in the Grau FAQ such as checking no ctts in the settings. I tried running a video again and it was almost perfect but I loaded it straight into VLC player which played the video fluidly.
Long story short I ran the repair and then opened the file in VLC player which seems to work. Now I need to get it into Final Cut Pro X and hopefully without issues.

When I did the step to upload to youtube it got downgraded to 380p and when I download the video it's only 27mb instead of 8gb video and the quality is really low. Is there any way to convert the video in VLC without losing it's quality.
Hey mate, it takes RUclips sometimes a few hours to fully convert all the different versions. Alternatively you can try running it through ffmpeg or Handbrake: handbrake.fr/
My recovered file is still an mdt file. Any ideas what to try next?
0:10 - You can just rename the extension from .mdt to .mp4 and continue along the steps.

extract the files first! then try again. that worked for me.
How could I recover 100% footage free please ?
If you're desperate and can't afford the unlock serial. You can search google for it and you'll find some unlocked copies with a crack, just be careful though as some of them are viruses.
