That hop-on hop-of bus tour look like a pretty good way to see the broader city of Hanoi and get you out of the Old Quarter. I like Hanoi as it has a lot of unique characteristics which is unlike many other large SE Asian cities where those look too Westernized now.

Hii! Great video, jack. Quick questions: I have 2 days in Hanoi so thinking to do a Ha Long Bay day trip on Day 1 and explore Hanoi on Day 2 until my flight at 6pm What do you recommend I can do to explore Hanoi Cz I just got a day till 4:30pm? Bus Hop on Hop off can be a pass right?
Hey mate, thanks a lot! Sounds like a great trip, you'll love Ha Long Bay. Yep I'd recommend the hop on hop off, it's quite short round trip ~1.5 hours. Best to research a few stops you'd want to get off at and have a look around before you go. The lakes, temples & train street (if you get the timing right with the train) are probably the main spots you'd wanna check out. Honestly it's a pretty hectic and super interesting city. If you just walk around you will come across a lot of cool sights. On my first day I went to the local park, saw historic statues, people being active and gathering playing local games. Got some local food without them speaking any english, it was all an adventure!

We went in October, I think Hanoi is great this time of year as it's not the busiest but the weather was still great!
