He's right. Nowadays reality shows are very dramatised with unnecessary stuff like tragic backstory, pyar mohabbat ki baatein etc. I liked the way he balanced his views. Very organic and modest guy.

Back in those days, Sony had a 2 year non compete agreement with the winner that prevented to sing for other composers, people would have forgotten the winner by the time the contract ended, Shreya Ghoshal & Arijit Singh are the only exceptions who've become legendary and still killing it
In 2005, I used to live at the small town of Khairagarh that time (near his hometown bhilai) where he had studied music for 3 years at Indira kala Sangeet vishwavidyalaya. The students there were crazy and had brought a large screen to watch final of Indian idol to see him win. It was one of a kind thing.
I was in 9th class and i watched all amidt sana performance and i even voted spending money on each sms back then. And it broke me when he didnt win . I too cried. My sentiments are same as you all commenting here. First indian idol was the best !! Good luck Amit sana hope you do well . We share the same first name so there was this extra edge to the support ❤🎉

Runner up of 1st Indian Idol. Though I personally like Abhijit Sawant (coz' as a Mumbaite) , But Amit Sana deserve to be the winner. Super talented, coming from small town, he proved his ability. That song ' Woh kisna hai' he sang in semis with power pack performance still gives goosebump. Every body thought he will win but don't know what happened. Good old memories Nostalgic. Amit Sana was an engineering student he was in BITS (Bhillai) 2nd best college in whole Chattisgarh back than Best was NIT Raipur. I was in NIT, I knew his batchmates. He was a good student. He left engineering after winning the show. He should have kept his engineering career on his side.
Some names I still remember from that Indian Idol era except Abhijeet and Amit Sana are Kazi, Prashant Tamang, Meiyang Chang, Amit Paul and Kapil Chetry
I still remember the moment the host said.. and the winner's name is AS... Both 'A'mit 'S'ana and 'A'bhijeet 'S'awant names combined together. That was a show stopper moment. A memorable childhood.

I was 16 when indian idol 1 came out. I am so 37 now. Cant believe how long it has been. Its the only indian idol which I saw from episode 1 to last. Amit Sana was in my opinion more deserving. And I had a humongous crush on Prajakta Shukre 😂

Very rightly said about the current reality shows. There is too much drama with a must to have an emotional aspect showing how the candidate is underprivileged. People like me move away from such reality shows.

Feeling nostalgic after seeing him. Reminds me of voting for him from my mom's NOKIA 1100.And from that same phone my mom voted for Abhijeet Sawant.
