2:56. You forgot to add one thing. "Child labors are used in third world countries to dig out these materials". The very same people who are pushing for "clean EV cars" are the very same people who oppose "digging the raw materials" in their own country AND they "turn a blind eye" when third world countries are using child labor to dig out raw materials.
Around 2022 when Russians were stealing cars in Ukraine the Russian didn't bother with EV cars? Because there are no chargers in a war torn country.

I can see by your reply you are living in the dark ages, battery technology has moved along way since then, you must blame Toyota and a few other Legacy Auto makers for still using 20 year old technology in their battery's

I’m presuming you mean cobalt? As there are no children digging lithium, nickel or iron. It might interest you to know most cobalt is still being used in the refining process to turn crude oil into fuel. The cobalt is used to reduce the sulphur content. Cobalt is being phased out of battery production whereas it remains an intricate part of the oil refining process with no change in sight.

If you take care of the battery properly and by that I mean don't treat EVs like a battery phone, charging whenever it fits you- which can lead to a much quicker battery drain. Then it can last just as long as a combustion engine car, maybe 15-20% less life span.

I'd say drive whatever you like, some people like petrol, some like diesel, some like electric. I love anything with four wheels as long as it's quick and fun to drive. I have two used EVs and a diesel car and a van; both have their pros and cons. The EVs are great for their instant torque, daily-driveability and low maintenance costs, but are a pain for long journeys where you have to stop every 150-200 miles to recharge. The diesels on the other hand are fun to work on, tweak and tune and go further without having to refuel, plus you can go to car meets without getting sneered at (then again I've taken my Tesla to a car meet and people seemed keen to go for a spin in it, just to see how it performed)

Running out of fuel in stop start traffic? EV,s hardly use any power in stop start traffic whereas most ICE vehicles use it even while stationary. The only time I ever nearly ran out of fuel was stuck in traffic in an ICE car.
Current stats suggest EV,s are lasting longer than ICE vehicles probably due to less moving parts, less heat and are about 50 times less likely to catch fire than ICE vehicles. The batteries are lasting longer than originally thought with most easily going past the 100,000 mile mark. As for mining, how much environmental damage do you think drilling for oil has done? Heard of fracking and the damage this has done to underground water sources? What about transporting crude oil, (remember Exxon Valdez?) the refining it then transporting it again? Methane escaping from wells and continuing to escape into the atmosphere.
Constituents for batteries are now being reused or broken down and reused. Once oil is burnt as fuel, its gone leaving any number of chemicals in its wake including CO2, Carbon Monoxide, Toluene, Oxides of Nitrogen and particulates from diesel which are particularly nasty if you have pre-existing lung problems. There have been any number of all of life studies done comparing pollution from ICE vehicles and EV,s and EV,s come out in front by a large margin every time.
The final thing of course is that while generally ICE cars have a longer range than EV, (though the difference is getting less all the time) I have solar panels at home so I can fuel up from my house. I can’t do that with an ICE vehicle as I have never owned an oil well and refinery and never will. The price too is getting comparable and any price difference is usually made up quickly by lower fuel and maintenance costs associated with EV,s.
I’m guessing that judging by how cheap this video was made, how poorly the research (none at all) and the deliberate contentiousness of the subject it was a click bait scenario. I have commented because it’s important to not let nonsense proliferate unchallenged on social media however I will not comment again on this site and intend to make sure it doesn’t come up again on my list.

@gill7087, Well said. I just bought an Equinox EV for the solar charge purposes as well. It goes over 300 miles on a charge and drives like a pro.
I for the life of me can’t understand why people are so against this electric cars. With all the complaints about the economy and how much stuff costs, the same people could be paying ZERO for gas and possibly ZERO for electric with a solar investment.

When it comes to energy, e cars also used fossil fuel because all electricity is produced by fossil fuels. 80% is from coal and the others are produced by products from fossil fuel.
