I got it as a replacement for my broken Braun Series 9 and I can’t recommend it to anyone with sensitive skin/thick hair. Just like you said, it doesn’t glide and because of that it’s causing a lot of irritation. Also the foil cracked after a week of normal, home use (during the head shave) cutting my scalp pretty severely. I don’t think that this is a bad product, just not suitable for shaving head, especially if you have sensitive skin. I’ve tried using it with the electric pre-shave lubricant and unfortunately, even though helps the foil to glide easier, it clogs it up very quickly. Braun Series 9 is still the king of the head shavers for guys with sensitive skin.
@@Wedelinskyj I can’t really compare it to the normal razors as I’ve only used adjustable DE razors. So I've had to move into razor territory and now I can get an even, close shave, but it's never irritation free.
@@Wedelinskyj Babyliss gives me more irritation than a DE razor, so I’m guessing that you should probably stay away from it if your skin is very sensitive. I’ve tried using electric shavers for wet shaving - they just don’t work as good as when used “dry”. I get the best results with electric pre-shave lubricant or baby powder tbh. I would recommend you to try your Remington with electric pre-shave lubricant only. I use the FX3 model and its razor close, just stretch your skin and go against the grain in short strokes...it just erases the stubble away. Ive had mine for 18mo and still using stock blades, i have coarse thick hair and i use it every 2 to 3 days.
Hey Harry I have this but it was causing me irritation. I've bought the braun series 9 pro and it's much better but a lot more expensive. Great review though mate nice one 👍
Box shavers are finishers. They are not meant to take down bulk at all. Despite their efficiency, they are very simple machines, and the heads and blades will not last with that kind of abuse. If you want to use them as head shavers, go for a daily shave. Maybe even every other day, but in my experience with them, that's already asking too much. They work very well, as long as you respect their limitations.
Don'nt forget about the ANGLE of the shaver on your head. Especially at the difficult backside. Tip: Wash your headskin thoroughly and dry it off before. Otherwise old skin and fat from the surface will spoil the little wholes and the rotating blades in your shaver. Have a GOOD SHAVE and THANK YOU FOR YOUR CHANNEL!🤝🤝🤝👍👍👍
I'm not a head shaver, but wonder if this would be best only if you do daily shaves. Personally (for several days growth), I'd first use a cheap, convenient alternate that's not completely efficient, but very comfortable (to take down the bulk of the growth), then end the shave with the Babyliss Pro, as this is the strength of the razor. Another review said: 'You should use clippers or trimmers first and then this'. I'd think if you subject the Babyliss Pro to multi-day growth some component isn't going to last as long as with one-day growth. It might take longer, but I would guess - on both passes - it will be much more comfortable.
@Baldcafe thank you so much for this suggestion, I got the bayliss today and the closeness I'd go as far as saying is better than a wet shave and actually smoother! This is what I'm sticking with! So glad I found your channel!
I bought the same one but returned it for the BabylissPRO 4Artists FX3. The FX3 does not have the same metal premium finish but has a better battery and much lighter. Maybe I just need more practice and need to learn proper technique but I found it alot more work than using a razor.
I was going to ask how this compares against the BaByliss PRO FX3 because I've seen amazing outcomes with that model. It's the same family anyway bought. It would great to get that comparison.
Don't suppose there's any chance of covering male scalp folliculitis is there? I like to shave my head using Remington RX5 or the babyliss pro but suffer with folliculitis. Not only is it painful and bothersome, but knocks my confidence
I actually just bought a different one than this, but the foil shaver has been the closest shave other than a razor to me it feels just like it. I also have the bulldog head shaver which for me gives the bald look but not the feel. So definitely happy this the foil shaver especially if I wanna do a quick shave.
I use mine on my face. It does an awesome job. As far as my head, nothing beets a blade. My hair is course and the babyliss does a fair job. I need to shave everyday or nothing but a blade will do the job.
How do you shave the back, because it didn’t look easy in the video . That’s my only concern. For the rest it looks amazing. And what’s the difference with the gold one? Thanks
How do you keep these shavers fresh and well? Other than cleaning off the hair. Oil spray or anything other that one should think of when moving into the new ground of electric shavers?
Love your content man! Highly recommend checking out the foil shaver from a The Pissed Off Barber. Great product, absolutely love the shave i get. Plus it is made in the UK by a small business which might appeal to you
@Baldcafe - you reviewed alot of shavers, and probably used many - what would you recommend ultimately - for shaving head only ? i want the smoothest possible, but want something electric to be able to shave before going to job, wet shaving is too much hassle for me
Thanks for your review. On the USA Amazon website I could only find the Babyliss Pro FX3. In the description it claims to have titanium foil. Do you have any insider information if this is the same product as you reviewed and just repackage for the Staes?
Well, the Moment you wondered, that there is so little Hair in the sink... because THERE ISN'T MUCH MORE😂🤣😂! But i remember myself being astonished about that little flouses after dry electric shave ! Thanks Mate🙂🙂🙂
I've just bought a rx7 but ... i ran into this video and i wonder... the differences between rx7 and babyliss pro in terms of lenght of cut? Rx7 is close to 0, but my scalp is not so smooth as seems yours after the shave. I got to say i t's confy and it doesnt irritate my skin!
Interesting review. Usually use a safety razor myself. Dusted off the Andis recently for a trip I went on, and it left me disappointed. Not sure if I'll ever get this after seeing you struggle on the back of your head (if you struggled with your hair, then I'd definitely struggle with my hair). Hopefully one day there will be an electric razor that can genuinely replicate the ease of using something like a safety razor on all areas of the head. Especially for those of us with thick/coarse hair.
@baldcafe, which razor i best for the closest shave? This or Braun series 9? Other? My main priority is a close shave when I don’t use my Gillette labs. I bought the RX7 and it is good but after 3-4 rounds and a warm head, but it doesn’t work in the neck where it causes burn marks. It’s not as good as a blade though but pretty close.
own a braun 7 and 1 month I put it to use for shower shaving my face. Bought the babylisspro UV but have not used it since shower shave is successful and no clean up. For travel maybe just the uv pro.
hi, i got an another question, after i used my rx7 for 3 weeks i noticed neck irritations, not so close shave, some spots really difficult to process, so i'll return back and i was thinking about a foil shaver like this one or the fx3 always from babyliss. The question is, do you think for scalp shaving is better single foil or double foil? With the single foil may be the pass is more efficent, having the power of rotatory engine concentrate its power on a single foil while with 2 blades the power would be divided on both? what do u think? what do you advise for me?
Im really trying so hard to like myself with hair like this. I am only 22, no girl my age is gonna want a to be with a bald guy. Infact my last girl specifically said she wouldn’t have dated me if I was bald. I guess I should be happy with myself regardless of something as superficial as hear but I just can’t have the amount of positivity these guys eventually have about it. Guess I’ll have to watch more of your videos until I’m okay with it haha
You are young bro. It takes time, it takes life experience, it takes reflection. It takes you starting to think about things you actually like about yourself more than spending time wishing for other circumstances or washing to be back in the past. If you are struggling to think of things you like about yourself then do hard things, achieve things outside of your current comfort zone. If your criteria is getting laid with a shaved head then just focus on achieving that. It isn’t un achievable because the bald gene lives on strong for a reason. You just gotta see it all with your own eyes and that does take time, experience and the accumulation of wins. The alternative is to give up and live in misery. F that. Don’t squander your potential to achieve and do great things just because you no longer have the full head of hair you once did. At the end of the day you’ve just changed your hair cut. That sounds blunt but it’s the truth.
my issue with shaving is, when i do shave my head (soon) i do NOT want the buzz cut, straight to clean all round, however im dreading the shadow or horseshoe, would rather have no hair on the sides to match the top than have the divide obvious
@@Baldcafe that's the thing, I'm 24 and have been balding since I was 15, it got to the point where there was genuinely nothing on the very front/top and I actually felt better about it than when I was just thinning and having that M shape becoming more and more aggressive. I think I'm finally sick of brushing it forward and hat + bang catfishing. When I'm better from tonsillitis I'll probably just go for the clean shave after 9 years of self hate and stress
Hey been watching for a while and made the decision to shave it as well. I have tried the skull shaver gold wasnt impressed because around the ears it couldnt perform at all. Is this better? Also i would love some tips regarding itchiness & dandruff in general and shampooing as a new bald man!
No shampoo needed. I advise putting on something like the Bald Cafe Bald Head Butter or similar after shaving your head and even on the daily. Available here: bldbro.com/collections/products/products/baldheadbutter Now as for is this better. If you struggle with irritation then no. It’s probably more irritating. Does it shave closer and easier to use around the years, yes. But if you want to get the most out of this you need to use it every day or 2 days max. If you don’t need your head absolutely skin bald then I suggest checking out something like the Wahl Aqua blade clippers. I have a full review on the channel here also 👍 hope that helps.
Hey mate, If price isn't an issue and purely for head shaving, for say a daily go over, would you recommend this BaByliss or the Braun 9? in regards to closeness/comfort? thanks mate
i am now questioning my hairline and keep my hair to a 0 guard electric razor, i am now looking for a foil shaver that doesn't cost as much as the Braun s9, is the babyliss a recommendation?
Still doing a code for the leaf twig razor? Also what razor do you recommend I can get from the supermarket that’s better than gilette mach 3, you said in a video you end up going back to something like gilette fusion but I can't remember what video or what razor it was.
I do have a code if purchasing from the US but not the UK. A good overall razor is the Gilette fusion proglide. I don’t like changing the shave head so much which is why I very rarely use those these days but in terms of performance… absolutely does a great shave
@@BaldcafeI've got really sensitive skin, do you think the Braun series 9 pro would be better costs more but I'd like to avoid razor bumps at all cost
2 questions. how does this compare to a rotary shaver , for example the skull shaver. in terms of closeness and irritation there is a brand called hatteker, is that any good. thanks
That hatteker is generic so will give generic results. This compared to rotary shavers like skull shaver and RX7 shaves closer but it isn’t as comfortable to use.
Are all versions of this model the same? I wonder why there is a normal silver model, a gold one, a colored one... I wonder if they are all the same in performance
I always wanted to buy this but the price is what made me not pull the trigger ended up buying the andis shaver for about half the price got it on sale for 55 bucks no regrets maybe when this one gives out I’ll consider buying it
I could be wrong but I think those gold ones that look virtually identical to this minis the color were made/sold on the US market … just from my observation

Maybe you can do a tier list of all the razers you collected over the years?
(As an idea for a future video)
Cheers mate!
Great idea for a future video! 👍 thank you
@@Baldcafe Добрый день! Так-же было бы не плохо сделать обзор на ваш "топ" безопасных бритв для бритья головы.👍
@@Baldcafe hey mate is this razor better than Braun series 9pro ?can you use this on your face
Love these reviews; I have been thinking about trying a foil shaver so this might be the one
If you are in the market for one then this is for sure the one to try I’d say.
I use the FX3 model and its razor close, just stretch your skin and go against the grain in short strokes...it just erases the stubble away. Ive had mine for 18mo and still using stock blades, i have coarse thick hair and i use it every 2 to 3 days.
I'm guessing the UK doesn't have GFCI outlets in their bathrooms?
Hey Harry I have this but it was causing me irritation. I've bought the braun series 9 pro and it's much better but a lot more expensive. Great review though mate nice one 👍
Yeah Braun 9 glides better meaning less irritation for sure 👍
Yes, using it on multiple days growth isn’t ideal with this thing I don’t think
Only problem with my fx02 was razor burns on my bottom neck but once your skin gets used to it it's great 👌
Babypowder helps it glide better
What would you say is the best foil shaver for head? Ive always used a razor but now I want to upgrade to a foil shaver, thank you
This is the best foil. But the best electric overall is the Braun series 9
I have this.
It’s a close shave but if you have sensitive skin, forget it.
I have used it twice and my head feels like it’s on fire.
Thank you for your work and all the money you spend on the shavers
Thanks mate. Appreciate this 👍
Don't suppose there's any chance of covering male scalp folliculitis is there? I like to shave my head using Remington RX5 or the babyliss pro but suffer with folliculitis. Not only is it painful and bothersome, but knocks my confidence
I still love my series 9
more so because I can also wet-shave with it
And its really comfortable
Where can I get this titanium version of the babyliss shaver?
I actually just bought a different one than this, but the foil shaver has been the closest shave other than a razor to me it feels just like it. I also have the bulldog head shaver which for me gives the bald look but not the feel. So definitely happy this the foil shaver especially if I wanna do a quick shave.
Harry, your facial hair is looking phenomenal mate. Seems even thicker here than when it’s long. Also, love the stache! Great review.
Thanks so much!
Hi mate if you’ve got a weeks growth, what would you use before this? Thanks
Any 0 guard clippers or mini clippers 👌
Review on point! Thanks a lot for this. Made me decide after checking a view shavers out 🙏
Happy to help!
I use mine on my face. It does an awesome job. As far as my head, nothing beets a blade. My hair is course and the babyliss does a fair job. I need to shave everyday or nothing but a blade will do the job.
I used this thing and yea it does shave you smooth but lord Jesus...the razor bumps were serious!!!
How do you shave the back, because it didn’t look easy in the video . That’s my only concern. For the rest it looks amazing. And what’s the difference with the gold one? Thanks
Same technique it’s just a little awkward to hold. No idea about the good one sorry. I think that’s the one they sell on the North American market
Thanks for your quick answer. So it shaves well on the back? It’s was more the way you hold it right?
How do you keep these shavers fresh and well? Other than cleaning off the hair. Oil spray or anything other that one should think of when moving into the new ground of electric shavers?
Yes oil is probably the most important factor I’d say 👍
This is what my barber uses on me. Super smooth afterwards.
Love your content man! Highly recommend checking out the foil shaver from a The Pissed Off Barber. Great product, absolutely love the shave i get. Plus it is made in the UK by a small business which might appeal to you
Just been binging their channel 👍
Wahl balding clippers are the best of the best for me
@Baldcafe - you reviewed alot of shavers, and probably used many - what would you recommend ultimately - for shaving head only ? i want the smoothest possible, but want something electric to be able to shave before going to job, wet shaving is too much hassle for me
i loved the last ending part ..
Thanks for your review. On the USA Amazon website I could only find the Babyliss Pro FX3. In the description it claims to have titanium foil. Do you have any insider information if this is the same product as you reviewed and just repackage for the Staes?
Your a real character dude😂
Well, the Moment you wondered, that there is so little Hair in the sink... because THERE ISN'T MUCH MORE😂🤣😂! But i remember myself being astonished about that little flouses after dry electric shave !
Thanks Mate🙂🙂🙂
It's crazy it's like you found your soulmate 😅
Love the videos mate, been following the channel for a while now. Keep up the good work, from a fellow bald brother 💪
So your recommendation for a face shaver just for home use would be what? Oh, I have a mustache but no other facial hair. Great vid!!
If you don’t need it shaved to the bone then I love the Wahl Aqua Blade because it does it all
Nothing beats braun 9pro. Love the fact that i can use it in the shower with shaving cream. Huge advantage over the rest
Super interesting,I'm gonna look into buying one, tried many others n always poor. This seems like it maybe the real deal.thanks 😎
the bloopers at the end 😂😅
Up the baldies 👴🏻💪🏻
I've just bought a rx7 but ... i ran into this video and i wonder... the differences between rx7 and babyliss pro in terms of lenght of cut? Rx7 is close to 0, but my scalp is not so smooth as seems yours after the shave. I got to say i t's confy and it doesnt irritate my skin!
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. You have a great product there with the rx7. Enjoy it 👌
Interesting review.
I bought the 2 blades UV one is kinda new. I used it for idk 3,4 months and i had to switch the foil and blades
Good review mate , I’ve been looking for a decent foil shaver for a while cheers
Glad I could help
Great review @baldcafe, do you know if this thing is suitable for a wet shave as well? I'd love to use this thing with a bit of cream or gel.
own a braun 7 and 1 month I put it to use for shower shaving my face. Bought the babylisspro UV but have not used it since shower shave is successful and no clean up. For travel maybe just the uv pro.
I'm still in doubt about going bald or not... but when I do I wanna look really fresh! What do you recommend? Standard razer or an electric shaver?
I just wana get a leaf twig. Still using disposables.
Someday.
hi, i got an another question, after i used my rx7 for 3 weeks i noticed neck irritations, not so close shave, some spots really difficult to process, so i'll return back and i was thinking about a foil shaver like this one or the fx3 always from babyliss. The question is, do you think for scalp shaving is better single foil or double foil? With the single foil may be the pass is more efficent, having the power of rotatory engine concentrate its power on a single foil while with 2 blades the power would be divided on both? what do u think? what do you advise for me?
If you have the budget then consider the Braun series 9
@@Baldcafe its over my budget of round 150 euro 😅
I got married at 24 while bald. Build up some muscle and you’ll be fine
i have hair on top of my head .. i tried to grow longer into a middle part hair style?
my issue with shaving is, when i do shave my head (soon) i do NOT want the buzz cut, straight to clean all round, however im dreading the shadow or horseshoe, would rather have no hair on the sides to match the top than have the divide obvious
Don’t dread the shadow man. Get comfortable with it and life will be much easier
Available here: bldbro.com/collections/products/products/baldheadbutter
Now as for is this better.
Upon looking at it it looks no
Different than the fx -2 shaver at which is still a great shaver in my opinion 😊
Hey mate, If price isn't an issue and purely for head shaving, for say a daily go over, would you recommend this BaByliss or the Braun 9? in regards to closeness/comfort? thanks mate
I’d go Braun 9 brother if you pushed me for an answer 👍
how hard do u press your shaver to your head?
At this point I would just go for laser hair removel treatment unless you planed some hair transplant surgery
Good stuff! Do you think this gets considerably closer shave than the Skull Shaver Pitbull? If so, I'll probably snag one up!
I’ve got the Remington skull shaver style foil shaver. How does this compare? What would you now say is the best overall head shaver (foil)?
i am now questioning my hairline and keep my hair to a 0 guard electric razor, i am now looking for a foil shaver that doesn't cost as much as the Braun s9, is the babyliss a recommendation?
Still doing a code for the leaf twig razor? Also what razor do you recommend I can get from the supermarket that’s better than gilette mach 3, you said in a video you end up going back to something like gilette fusion but I can't remember what video or what razor it was.
I do have a code if purchasing from the US but not the UK. A good overall razor is the Gilette fusion proglide. I don’t like changing the shave head so much which is why I very rarely use those these days but in terms of performance… absolutely does a great shave
@@Baldcafe Cheers bud got the proglide until the leaf comes
Looking at the skull shaver pro gold or the BaByliss pro shaver which would you recommend is better?
It honestly depends on your criteria. The Babyliss will shave closer ever so slightly.
@@BaldcafeI've got really sensitive skin, do you think the Braun series 9 pro would be better costs more but I'd like to avoid razor bumps at all cost
If you have small razor bumps would you recommend this or the Braun series 9?
Im still on pitbull skullshaver and its great :D.. what aftershave you using and what hidratation cream you use?
Baldcafe’s Bald Head Butter. Available soon
2 questions.
how does this compare to a rotary shaver , for example the skull shaver. in terms of closeness and irritation
there is a brand called hatteker, is that any good.
thanks
That hatteker is generic so will give generic results. This compared to rotary shavers like skull shaver and RX7 shaves closer but it isn’t as comfortable to use.
Does anyone knows if this and the UVFOIL02 are the same, regarding to the shaving part?
Are all versions of this model the same? I wonder why there is a normal silver model, a gold one, a colored one... I wonder if they are all the same in performance
No there seems to be some slight variations out there
I always wanted to buy this but the price is what made me not pull the trigger ended up buying the andis shaver for about half the price got it on sale for 55 bucks no regrets maybe when this one gives out I’ll consider buying it
Is it waterproof
In your opinion, how well you think this shaver would do on a African American bald head with 2 to 3 day growth???
Have you ever heard of the leaf competitor the "Shavent" razor
No, I’ll take a look
You use one? It looks heavy and bulky
Does anyone know how the gold babyliss pro double foil shavers compare to these?? I cant find the pro titaniums on amazon
I could be wrong but I think those gold ones that look virtually identical to this minis the color were made/sold on the US market … just from my observation
Is this just a fancier version of the Wahl Professional 5-Star Series Rechargeable Shaver/Shaper #8061-100
