I also have a paperwhite and I miss color sometimes too ! I’ve never had buttons on an ereader but I feel like that would be nice! I love this video, you did such a great job!

Have you ever heard of strapsicle ?? It’s an alternative to a pop socket, since you mentioned a popsocket isn’t necessarily your favorite it’s two straps that are labeled and they loop around the corners of your kindle (they have them for kobos too I believe) and you just kinda shove your hand between them however you like and it’s way less uncomfortable than a popsocket because you can just hold your hand flat or just with some of your fingers and don’t have to worry about your ereader falling

Yeah I’ve heard of them! I just don’t like the look of them. I haven’t needed anything extra since switching to Kobo because of the extended hand rest area by the buttons though.

I suffered sooooo much without a clock while reading. especially when you read at night in the dark mode and the last thing you want is to open that blinding white header thing every time you want to check the time. In the end, I overcame myself and decided to install a mod on the device lol. It's even funny that I suffered for a whoooole month and it took only like 5 seconds to mod that thing! and i finally read in absolute comfort and kobo is literally 100% perfect now lol (even tho i have a boox with buttons and a paperwhite. kobo became my main ereader quick)

I may try that mod! I don’t use dark mode so I haven’t had the light switching issue, but I can imagine how jarring it is! I use the Zen Flip Clock on my phone a lot so it hasn’t really bothered me because my phone becomes a large clock when I have that running but in the times when I don’t and then end up running late for something because I got lost in my book.

I found the process moving my electronic books from my Kindle library over the computer to my Kobo Libra color to be easy but time consuming.
I ended up deciding that I would read nonfiction on my Kobo because of The annotation features. And reading fiction on my Kindle Oasis.
This way, I only need to transfer the non-fiction books 📚 not all the books.
I like having my nonfiction books in calibre because I can search by tag words. And I can more accurately see what I have read and what I have not read.
I also like knowing that the non-fiction books that I read are not going to disappear. Amazon terms of service makes it clear that they can withdraw any ebook even though we purchased it.
It was really easy for me to take the DRM off of the Amazon Kindle books. I followed the suggestions from a RUclips video.
One of the problems with Kobo is that I can only put one library card on it. Since I have two library cards from two different counties, that was an issue.
Now that I've decided to keep both Kobo and a Kindle reader, I use a library card one each.
So in the end I'm using both and I think that will be indefinite.

Yeah I went through and saved all my kindle ebooks to my computer after seeing the TOS change.
I also don’t love that only one library card can be connected, but they make the connection so easy to do that I don’t mind swapping them when I need to do it.

Thank you for the video! Can I transfer my kindle Books to Kobo?

You definitely can! I moved 195 books over in maybe 35 minutes? And that was me doing it while I was in the middle of other things. My friend Rachel has a really detailed video about it. Search for “Rachel book faerie kobo” in the RUclips search bar and her video should pop right up :)

I use my iPad sometimes, but not nearly as comfortable a reading experience for me as an ereader is.

It is a totally different technologie. Eink does not interfere with your sleep and does not cause dry eyes, other than a tablet. You can read on both, but there are significant differences and the two kinds of devices are not comparable.
