For most cases, and specially during night time, the Samsung S20 FE came out better in my humble opinion. However, it has half the RAM of the OnePlus 8T (not sure if that hurts in any way other than keeping background apps alive). Someone knowledgeable (ahem, @TheUnlockr), hopefully, will chime in here.

So here we go. The 12GB of ram, makes a huge difference. Coming from a previous device of 6GB. It's night and day difference. It helps the phone remain snappy, with a bunch of apps open in the background. And tabs open in browser. The 120hz display is a winner. And the battery isn't an issue. Seeing as the 65W charger, will get the phone to half. In like 20 minutes. So even if the phone doesn't last all day. (I use my phone heavily.) It's not an inconvience to charge the phone for a short period of time. This is a reason the wireless charging isn't a big deal to me. Had it on my previous phone. Didn't use it hardly at all. The headphone jack being gone is annoying. But I do prefer the stereo speakers, over the jack. I use bluetooth headphones anyway. So it's really a non issue. Expandable storage would have been nice. But 256GB makes it where I can dump data if I need too. I usually keep my phone pretty clean either way. I would like to root the phone, and I'm sure that will make it much more enjoyable. But would for sure make this purchase over the s20 fe any day of the week. Almost went with the Google pixel 5. But having worked on phone, Google uses cheap parts. I've seen some shit happen to google phones, that just shouldn't happen.

did you have on the 120 refresh? bluetooth rendering and other things that may impact the battery. I stay in dark mode, battery saver with 60 hertz and I easily get 3 days off the charger.

Why is the 8Ts field of view so narrow 11:10 and 12:12 look at the truck on the left , totally cut out by the 8T. You can tell how old the sensor is , it also makes things very yellow .
an easy test to check if the black n white module is actually working in conjuction with the other modules you can tape it while the camera is active and see if anything changes

Great production value David, sometimes I just watch your videos not for the phone, but for the video itself. Travelling by boat is a much more civillized way of travelling compared to the subway. I don't think 8t was used for videos. There is an issue with 8t when it comes to video recording. While panning sideways it jitters. It is more noticable when recording at night. Not sure why youtubers are not covering this part in detail.
Nice vid! One thing I thought was a bit confusing though was how you changed cameras from the SLR to the Phone without saying so in the video so at times it made it hard to discern which footage was shot with the phone vs footage shot with the SLR.

Is it me or does the 8T seem less sharp than the rest? Don't get me wrong, still great shots, but when I pause side by side, it seems less detailed ever so slightly.

Came from an s20+ exynos,felt like a brick in comparison, love the build quality the size the nice amoled, everything so responsive and smooth, camera is good enough for me as I don't take that many photos anyway, battery holding up great, this won't be my last one plus device, but bad taste with Samsung not to mention their prices, I thought the 8t shots were pretty amazing

I changed the refresh rate to 60 hertz for the first time yesterday on my 8T and I got over 9 hours of screen time.
