On my 2015 Challenger Scat Pack I noticed a difference in the street. Ran a Mopar brace up front and dual bar in the bac. Here is what I noticed:: Better cornering with less nose dive from the front brace. A big difference accelerating out of corners, kept the wheels planted better, letting me accelerate harder without lighting up the tires as easy. This even helped a tiny bit in snow. Wheel hop. Before I put the rear brace in, I had a bit of wheel hop if I got on it from an intersection. There was a noticeable reduction but still there. Just a bonus I guess. These don’t tune your car into a McClaren, but I made some Camaros really work to keep up in twisty back roads. Camaro still has a edge but my Camaro friends were surprised. I guess it’s all in how you drive and your expectations. To me, well worth it. I will be adding braces to my Redeye now
I've been kicking around doing this because it looks cool & easy to install. $$$ per performance is no worth it. My boat doesn't handle so that's not really a deciding factor for me. Good review man
I would say that if you go that route, go with the one from Petty’s garage, you can have it color matched to your car, will definitely look sweet. But just like das said it will be mostly a visual mod though.
I really surprised you feel that way, but I can see your point about the cost. I bought the Speedlogix front struts bar for my 2014 RT AWD Charger and it is a noticeable difference in handling in everyday driving, and a significant difference when cornering hard. My car is my daily and it feels more stable and controlled with less leaning. It feels like I expected the car to feel from the factory. Our AWD RTs have an upgraded front seat bar compared to most of the RWD RTs, so the RWDs might not see as much of a difference.
I agree. I just installed strut braces on my car. It did improved the handling a little by making it more rigid, but I wouldn't spend a lot of money on the upgrade. In my case, I spent less than $100 on a set of strut braces from EBay. They work fine, but I didn't spend a lot of money on them. I'm satisfied.
Stiffening mopar chassis has been a regular thing since the 60s and in my family, we always say it's not a true mopar until it's stiffened. I guess it really comes down to how you drive your car. I built my car to get down on the twisty back roads and I would NOT have the same confidence without the braces in.
So I got my strut bar for my 2014 challenger shaker from Richard Petty Garage. Think I paid 250... only noticeable in high speed corners, but I feel like it was worth every penny! I love it! Billet Tech makes nice stuff, but in my case.... had to wait almost exactly 90 days for my catch can to arrive... not so happy about all that.... but they do make nice stuff!
Just one front strut-bar from Grimmspeed made a world of a difference for me in car handling at high speed curves (taking specific curves, confidently, at much higher speeds than without the bar). Subaru BRZ tS. Also improved control during braking. At normal speeds the bar made the car feel harsh and jarring. Will definitely leave the bar on as the benefits at higher speed performance are a world of a difference. Have yet to see how a rear strut bar will affect handling.
I have always considered the scat pack an SRT. It even says so on the engine cover. It straight up replaced the factory SRT model, so yeah definitely an SRT. Even says so on the engine cover. Some engineer probably didn't feel it necessary to add it on the outside of the car is all. I would definitely up-badge
They come with R/T badges, say in bold letters “R/T scatpack” on the window stickers, come up as R/T 392 under the insurance and are not included under “Dodge SRT” on the official dodge website. So no it’s not a SRT...
Yep, only benefit is at the track. I took 5 seconds off my best stock setup time with a strut brace, lowering and 285's on all fours. We'll have to do High Plains Raceway this summer if I ever get my engine build done lol. They repaved it this year so should be a little faster track now.
Never seen rear strut braces. What's badass. That's an awesome improvement with the AWD. It's kinda needed with the AWD RT. You need a little stiffer. Sorry to hear you are a little disappointed. I was expecting more. Especially with some kinda boaty feel with the stock suspension.
Not sure if I agree or not yet. I've been looking into these and will more than likely end up installing them on my Charger R/T. They are made for a reason other than just looks, which they do look good when the hood and trunk are opened. But I still think that under some circumstances like cornering, they will be a good suspension add on. I liked your video and your input, but I have to see for myself if they are worth the money for added performance.
The crazy thing that I have experienced is that when you take them off you notice it. Wish the feeling of the improvement was the same when you put thsm on
I know this is an old video but let me say, the rear works really well, simply because I have a lot of heavy stereo equipment in the trunk. Can really tell the difference going around curves
I'm not saying you should do this, but sometimes the best way to tell the difference is to revert the modification and see what it feels like without it now that you've gotten used to the feel. You front bar would be pretty easy to take off for a test and then put back on, but I know the rear was a pretty tough install. Regardless, I agree with you on the benefit because very few of us who own these cars get them for the handling. Love how they look in the front though, so that's definitely on my mod list.
*_YES_* I installed on my 2015 corolla and felt the improvement *IMMEDIATELY* . I was surprised and started to think why didn't I go for that at the beginning! Just install it.
Good review!! I agree with your assessment. I'm going to try some road racing with my Charger, my local Mopar club is having a track day at a mini road coarse, if the bug bites me after that I may consider adding them to my Charger.
Daytona 5.7 i got invited to go to one. Sad thing is I would have to remove these for a few runs and do a few with them installed to see if it helps on the track. I assume they do.
Partial to the billet ones that mount to original firewall and towers. Please tell me u already upgraded the sways/springs. Will the bar not clear valve covers or is that a heat issue? These tie handling together but only if sway is upgraded 1st...
The cover will fit still. Have not upgraded suspension parts because there is an issue with the axel boots ripping constantly if the car is lowered and I was researching all of that before I did anything
Thank you being honest... I was think along the same lines but you confirmed it for me ... not worth the money .... could use that money towards headers and cut outs lol
For racing sway anti roll bars are great. However, for street driving with potholes, bad roads etc., they are not the best rattle vehicle etc? Your thoughts overall?
I just installed the Mopar front strut bar brace on my 2017 Dodge Charger Scatpack and I notice a small popping noise when I back out of my driveway. Everything is on right and nice and snug. It only makes that popping noise going over a bump at like 5mph or going in and out of my driveway on a angle. Was wondering what this could be and how I could fix. Just driving around it’s perfectly fine.
@@dasllamas it only does it when the nuts are torqued properly. When I loosen the nuts all the way, it won’t make that light popping noise. I’m part of a Facebook group and there are like 4 other guys on there with the same car that are having the same issue. It only does it when I leave my driveway with the bolts properly tightened.
You will get the most improvement with a larger sway bar. Like the one from Eibach. Stock sway bar was 26mm solid and the Eibach is 36mm hollow. A hollow sway bar is much more stiff then solid. I also added heavy duty sway bar links also. I probably only need the strut brace in the rear. Going to add the rear Eibach sway bar this year.
I should also say that I run autocross and drive the dragons tail a couple times a year. And I'm competing against drivers that just have the strut brace and they cannot keep up with me and I'm usually within seconds of the big boy autocrossers.
I see so you're saying instead of getting strut tower braces even heavy duty end links would make a better difference on my 2013 Chrysler 300 SRT8 I've been thinking of the strut tower brace to tighten up the front end but end links are cheaper and if that does a better job then why not
Good topics and great honest review. I am considering getting those and I do understand you valid points on not being too impressed with having them. I however still plan on getting those because I want to track my car and to have more control of my car. Just like a cold air intake or headers, you will have to do complimentary mods to really feel a difference. I have mopar lowering springs in my trunk ready to be installed as you read this. Also im glad i procrastinated on the catch can last week n got the springs. Now I can see what is the better product I need. All this thanks to you man. I will share this video in Google+

R/T Life try looking for them used. Save some money but def dont pay full price

They should come with the car on the SRT’s.
I installed a DG front strut on my 2008 Charger.
I felt an improvement immediately!

gman4hire lol definitely a lot of gas

MiHiHemi that would be fun. Other than a drag strip ive never taken this car on the track
Much more fun than a straight line IMO. ruclips.net/video/jgA7s1IdV0E/видео.html

If you couldn't tell I commented as the video was rolling. Haha. Thanks for the update. All good info to share. Thanks man.
Burnseys RT there is some improvement but in my eyes not 800 bucks. I also dont track my car so i dont benefit as much from this mod

Im sure if I removed them I could tell a diffrence. I bet it does help with the added weight you have
@@dasllamas hell yeah. I had a terrible roll from the weight of the sub box. Thought I was going to roll that thing over on a curve 1 day. Lol

CTCharger the thought did cross my mind but im too damn lazy

John Cahill you have the arrington front brace right?
Yes sir.
How do you install that back bar? Is that a back strut bar? Do you have an installation video?
Install video here.

Do you still have the charger how’s she running
For racing sway anti roll bars are great. However, for street driving with potholes, bad roads etc., they are not the best rattle vehicle etc? Your thoughts overall?
overall I think they do work but in the end not worth the money. If you want them look for them used on craigs list.
We have horrible roads and I ran front and back, didn’t not affect ride quality negatively. In fact lees rattles
I found a front strut bar at the local Pick N Pull, did some cutting and made it into a rear strut bar for my car and the strut bar only cost me $20
Hell of a deal using your skills. Good find
I guess the real test on strut braces is set up a dial indicator from tower to tower jack up a wheel and measure body flex
Hmmmm... 🤔🤔🤔 not a bad idea

dasllamas if you decide you dont need them anymore and with ur friend who gifted you gives you consent to sell em. Let me know.
eunit08 if it came to that id jist charge you shipping but they are in the car now and the laziest thing to do is leave them in there haha
Good info. Curious to see the difference between catch cans.
Imagine thinking strut braces are turning your street car into a race car....
Great info. Your car is badass
Ethanol Hound thank you. As is yours
You’d be better served , especially Awd with Pursuit Charger Sway Bars and bushings
Cant say i disagree but unless i get them for free i wont be spending money on them
They aren’t very expensive compared to strut braces
That filter gets a lot of hot air 👍
I have a viper hood and water meth system. Air intake temps ate at or below ambient temps
Great video
Thank you!
Would u suggest me installing on my kia cerato 1.6 2019?
It is all a personal choice. If you feel you want a little stiffer handling or you track your car sure but it is up to you
$300 catch can...made of gold ???
Alan's RT $385
Itd be cool to see a v6 awd supercharged race you
I can make that happen. My friend has a ripp supercharged challenger gt. Next racing season it is on
