    Is the Lamborghini Reveulto’s 1.9-tonne kerb weight a big deal, or is that normal for 2023? Let us know what you think…

      It's not a big deal, as hybrid cars are heavy, and anyway it's still lighter than the new AMG C 63

      Q: Is the Lamborghini Reveulto’s 1.9-tonne kerb weight a big deal, or is that normal for 2023? A: no biggie, in 2023 that's like a "babies toy". if you really want to know what "heavy" feels like go back and drive the all electric Porsche Taycan (ie, parent company VW builds even heavier vehicles). yeah depending on the options - paired with driver - a 2WD base model with only a single motor on the road can in fact scale out at over 5000lbs (2336 kg/2.58 tonnes to be exact) so there ya go.

    It seems like auto journalism is all the same these days. Everybody has access to the same manufacturer claims such as weight or such and such % increase in stiffness etc... It weighs a lot but doesn't feel it, what a "clever trick". Nobody ever dares remind the audience that all these "facts" are not independently verified by a 3rd party test, but just regurgitated from the manufacturer. It makes it hard to be certain that a glowing review isn't simply the price one has to pay to take the car out on a track with a camera crew.

    A agree that it looks a bit like a Vette, but the proportions (and details) are soooo much better. That big ol' "golf bag-sized" trunk in the Vette distorts the overall shape, imo, of course. As a practical matter I fully understand, Vette buyings not wanting to give that concession to practicality up. Perhaps, mid-engine cars shouldn't have four seats or golf-club-sized trunks.
    And I doubt Lambo/Audi will have any trouble selling this one (and future hotter siblings) for the next decade.

    If the curb weight is 1900kg then the Revuelto is 50kg heavier than the Aventador S and 100kg heavier than the SVJ🤔

    • @amarjit_singh_
      @amarjit_singh_ 10 месяцев назад +2

      Comparing the dry weight, the difference between SVJ (1525kg) and Revuelto (1772kg) is nearly 250kg. The SVJ was weighed in running conditions on Carwow and without fuel it was around 1850kg, so using the same math, Revuelto will be well over 2000kg.

    • @byronglass9444

    • @gen1c8rs88
      @gen1c8rs88 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@amarjit_singh_ Well the high weight is the Revuelto's low point, but the V12 is it's crescendo. Was thinking that 275/35r20 on 10's and 345/30r21 on 13's would be the ideal fitment for a track variant and 420mm front brakes would be enough but it seems the 21/22 setup might be justified. Also laws taking some copper out of brake pads have increased rotor size. Carwow, did they have the coups or convertible, plus the North American market version probably didn't have the particulate filters ? So do you know the answers to those two questions, or should I do some research.

    • @Bug4life
      @Bug4life 2 месяца назад

      @@gen1c8rs88Nah the V12 in the revuelto sounds muted for a NA engine and Car wow weighed a SVJ coupé with not much extra weight in options. Lambo's engineering can be seen when their pure ICE carbon tub lightweight special car weigh about 50-60kg more than a standard SF90 using an all aluminium chassis, hybrid powertrain and without the Assetto Fiorano pack.

Well 1st I heard em & then turned my head & saw & my mind was blown. Had to do a double take to make sure I wasn't going insane. There must have been a car show/meet up because the 2 Lambos were leading a large convoy of those tricked out Japanese sports cars. Let's just say it's a sight I'll never forget. I stared in aw while in the background I heard other male pedestrians give their voices of amazed approval. Like "HELL YEAH!!"

    The new Corvette E-Ray is 655hp, and £100,000. That's only 35% less power at nearly 80% less money fully loaded with Napa leather, carbon fiber, etc ... on a platform underneath that looks identical to the Revuelto ... in case you're interested in *that* . When the 1000hp Corvette Zora is released, the gloves are off!

    • @jameswillard1
      @jameswillard1 10 месяцев назад

      And you think Lamborghini and Ferrari won’t have moved past the power levels of the ZR1/Zora by then? Even the baby Ferrari 296 has 830HP and just ran a 150MPH 1/4 mile…..or basically faster than anything that burns gas and isn’t over $1M

    • @dash-ryan
      @dash-ryan 10 месяцев назад

      @@jameswillard1 Zora will be out in 2 years. But my point is not about catching up. It's about value and experience for the money. Corvette will never have the brand power of Ferrari or Lamborghini, but does it have to in order to compete? So far, the rear mid-engine sports car experience has been rare and special. The C8 democratized that experience. Italy and Germany didn't see it coming. They are still the top dogs, but they are now looking over their shoulder at what's not far from their rear bumpers.

    • @dash-ryan
      @dash-ryan 10 месяцев назад

      @@jameswillard1 Also, at 800hp the 296 is so powerful for the money, its cannibalizing some sales of the SF90. Ferrari didn't have to do that ... unless maybe, just maybe, sports cars like the C8 raised the bar. Maybe Italy is is under more pressure to demonstrate performance value than they let on. 🤔 hm.

    I've always wondered whether British pounds sounds to British people as cheap as it sounds to Canadians. £450,000 is $750,000 CAD. That's prohibitively expensive for Canadians, but UK reviewers talk like it's not that bad. Someone from the UK told me they don't understand what UK reviewers are full of, but that kind of money is catastrophically expensive for normal people in the UK who, unlike Canadians, the majority of which can't even afford to own a home let alone any land around it like us. Yet, so many many supercars of all ages roaming around London and elsewhere in the UK makes me wonder what the actual truth is.

    • @floflorian6085

      British people don't own these cars, they are mostly owned by foreign money or leased/hire purchased by British people who bank on the value going up. There is also a huge gap between the rich and the poor/middle class in Britain - the rich are very rich so they can afford these cars. Look at Matt Watson, he's one of the most successful British car RUclipsrs and even he couldn't buy his new GT3 RS upright, he had to lease it.
