This takes me back to the early 1960's and the Salvation Army Corps at Ashton-u-Lyne. I was a 15-year-old budding cornet soloist and Kenneth (Ken) Lee was the solo euphonium player. Ken played this solo just like Derick does on this recording. I was always in awe of Ken Lee and his virtuosity as a player and a gentleman. Sadly, he has climbed the golden stairs to glory, but his legacy lives on.
My Dad sang this as a solo bless him. Promoted to Glory 21 years ago.
Thank you for sharing this
Glory to God, I played this Euphonium in my 20 Years from DRC Salvation Army
Thanks for your comment and support
Ron Willis was solo Euphonium with the Sunderland Monkwearmouth SA band. Always enjoyed providing accompaniment on Eflat bass😊
He must have been a good player
