My grandfather was singing this song on his deathbed at the hospital early this year in the days leading up to his Promotion to Glory. A faithful servant of God and a life well lived.

I'm 14 and have 4 years of experiences with the trumpet. I play in SDG brass band which you probably are not familiar with but you can look it up on youtube. I hope oneday I could play with this band. May God bless the Salvation Army band and the works that they do.

The salvation army has changed from their original calling. No more merry Christmas bell ringers, they do not want to offend anyone. Wow this song contradictory to their new mission statement weather written or not.

Long Eaton Songsters sang this beautifully back in 1969 - 72, when my wife and I were stationed there. Harold Taylor was the Songsters Leader and Frank Duncan the pianist and Audrey Duncan sang a solo part. A lovely memory and blessing.
