In the heading it was written "New York Staff Band" but i didn't hear any band playing. Only male voice/choir....????

60 years ago, as a member of Dudley Citadel Band we sang this beautiful song. It is as relevant today as it was then.

These people saved lives

My father was the YP band leader and songster leader at Belfast Citadel in the early 1950’s. This was his favourite march - especially as he played the “O Canada” section as a French horn solo. It was that experience that made him choose Canada for our new home in the mid 1960-s. I’m thrilled to find this great rendition

In 1963 Swindon Citadel Band toured The Netherlands . During the tour we visited Hilversum Town Hall as we got inside the Town Hall there were a couple who had just got married and before they left we sang this to them .

And the musicianship is outstanding. An "all star " ensemble led by a terrific conductor. The recording is off the charts!!

The best Salvation Army band composition ever written! Every section of the band is featured and the cornet / trombone exchanges are brilliant. Eric Ball was so far ahead of his time. May God be praised!!

my father tried to program this piece with his band. He almost got a revolution 😅. Too modern, too difficult and certainly not Christian enough 😊. I wish he can listen to this recording from heaven. Like a kind of revenge😊. Thank you for sharing!
