You could see that wall of airborne sand at 12:30 in the distance, but then the "cyan" loot drop distracted you. I should have yelled louder at the screen. Sure, the sandy beaver could be higher level, but I think, there now are also two variants for all different types of trees. The smaller darker variant of the "joshua tree", e.g., has a chance to give sap and apparently also yields more wood? For thatch, I usually take my metal anky with pumped melee instead of gathering with a pick. But mainly because I still have not found a higher level, more durable pick... Can't wait for you to upgrade to adobe, a multi-level floor-plan and all the fun decorations you can now do with rotated thin pillars and angled railings! I'm currently on a building spree, sprucing up my main base instead of having larger secondary ones, because the map kind of shrinks with a high level argent or even a wyvern.
I was gonna ask if your jerboa was on aggressive! He kept barking at the nearby wild bugs and even tried to bite it when you got close 😅 There's a whistle bug that's been in ASA since launch. If you used the "attack my target" hot key, everything will go aggressive

Phlinger you can tame a Equus, and build a mobile Clay production facility on it's cart.
You don't even need the cart
@@Dino2GunZ You can build multiple Mortar and Pestle stations, or even a Chemistry Bench for better efficiency in Clay production.

On the server I play on, this is the same spot I built. I made a quick video of it. It is a great fairly central location to reach everything.
