Oh my! Stumbled on this only 11 min. after its posting! I love Larry! Best soloist ever! He’s why my main axe is a semi hollow! Thanks for posting! Peace
Aaaw, Mr 335! my channel picture is your right hand picking one of your beauty💖 Also I want to cheer Rick, which I met. Lovely people. Great artists. Inspiring axes. Thank you PG🙏
My first electric was purchased on July 3, 1976, $300. Mid-60's 335 12-string. I still own this guitar. The nut is 1-9/16". I have never played it with 12 strings. It's a great guitar. You never forget your first Gibson! Oh, I'm still a hack after 44 years but at least I look good with my 335. LOL
Still love the ES 335 since I first started playing. Bought, sold, traded until I got my first around 79/80 which was an ES 347. Then was told I need a real jazz guitar and had to trade that one for an deep hollowbody L4 CES which I still have. But did add back a 58 reissue 335 which is amazing. Cheers!
Gibson could have made a Carlton model long before they did. Carlton boosted 335 sales by the thousands. I imagine the 'Sire' brand will move many guitars with Larry's name on them.
@David Navarrete actually, this an old video and Gibson did the run of Larry’s 335 has to be about 10 years ago now. P.S. why don’t you criticize car manufacturers for making some cars that ordinary people can’t afford. This is business, if you can’t afford it buy something else. It’s not just Gibson that makes high end goods. There are Gibson guitars that are priced lower then their custom shop guitars.
335 became my main among the great custom shop guitars in my arsenal, and it’s perfect as a taller lead singer/rhythm player. Replaced the T-Top style HBs with Fralin Pure PAF and now it’s at 90% of my overall usage.
Changing from trapeze to a stop tailpiece makes a major difference in the sound of a guitar like this. Not better or worse, just really different. Most players prefer stop tail to trapeze, and for good reason. Take Mister 335’s advice and do the same if you have a hollow or semi hollow body with a trapeze.
Room 335 is the hottest piece I've ever learned, and it was the last song that my wonderful teacher, Roy Ettinger, tabbed out for me before his death. I swear that every student who took lessons from him ended up buying a Gibson ES335.
so interesting that the headstock is all relic'd out and the body is beautifully pristine, it seems that hollowbody and semi-hollowbody players get more careful with the body of their guitars
I have a very nice 335, but as much as I try to love it, it just doesn't talk to me. I guess I'm more of a Les Paul kinda guy. To each his own I guess.

*That 335 sounded so sweet on Aja and The Nightfly...*
Larry Carlton is the man. If you don't know, get searchin and pay attention.

Man that was a generous fan!!! Wholly! I wish people would send me their guitars!!! LOL
Steely Dan solos!
Tone incarnate.
I would like to have his second guitar to be my first guitar. Never had a 335 and it is time to dream!
52 years old GIBSON... WORTH LOTS OF MONEY
Bebop this and blues that. Check!

Daum it ! It would have been nice to hear some playing !!
2:29 i need to hire a guy like that just to hand me guitars and anticipate when i want to switch
If you got the cash you can do what you want to. lol
Doesn't he have a signature with Sire guitars NOW?
*confused noises in Sire*

He wasn’t finished what happened?
This is a re upload!!
And...?
Nice little stories. But some playing on both would be appropriate.
Did he really dye his hair?
Sure looks that way
Nope. This is a while ago.
