As an ice road trucker, I can confirm that deadly avalanches and truck roll overs are a daily occurrence for me.

Let's be honest through, the state isn't going to come get you out in the middle of the night, I got stuck in two avalanches over the winter, when that happens, it's time to crawl in bed and go to sleep because they ain't coming out till the morning lol

Your spending to much time at the truckers table at coldfoot or it would be true.

More bullstien. They fire mortar rounds to cause avalanches on atigan pass. Those guys are always inventing drama. The camera crew is probably still trying to catch me.

You need to respect Atigun Pass that mountain eats trucks you get in an avalanche they will never find your body because that is permafrost ice and when the snow hits the truck your gone you will be pulled inside the mountain and your body will be entombed in ice that will never melt. Stay out of the avalanche zones and do not go up when the snow is coming down because they will never find you if an avalanche happens.

No, the snow melts on the pass every summer. I crossed it many times both winter and summer in both vehicles and helicopters.

Hardly, you can see the bottom of the pass from both directions, for miles

@@armymon101 not really, the pipe line goes through the mountain. And there is not miles to atigan pass. The weather can be bad on it, but the hill most drivers have a problem with is koyukuk.
