I needed exactly this! THANK YOU SO MUCH. ❤️ the previous layout video was so helpful.. it helped to complete work a lot easier (especially elevations) instead of drawing it on CAD.
Hey, just a small remark. On your blueprints, dimensions in inches only are much better for your cabinet maker and carpenters to avoid mistakes. I'm a finish carpenter and cabinet maker myself and when I get a blueprint in feet and inches it's a waste of time because I have to convert to inches. And I have to double check my work to make sure 2'-3" doesn't become 23" for example. 2'-3"-3/8 is really a huge pain in the butt compared to 27-3/8. Often dimensions don't add up in the blueprint because the designer is also confused and there are inconsistencies and unnecessary back and forth to correct the blueprints. Cheers !
Hi Sandra!! Thank you for sharing this video! That is amazing! I work with layout too. I would like to know if you have someplace where you get the references for the kitchen cabinets and the blocks
Do you you mean how do I get the cabinetry blocks? I model them myself but you can download some through sketchup's 3D warehouse. I hope that answered your question!
HI Sandra, I have one comment that you have the shower mixer under the showerhead? yet the shower door slide to the right in you plans? In which case you have come in completely into the shower enclosure to turn it on. But that means that you will be sprayed with cold water when you turn it on. If you had the mixer right in front centered in the door than you can turn it on and not get sprayed. Yes?
If only that worked out in our favor! It would be ideal to have the shower valve accessible, but unfortunately variables like time, money, and budget cause some restraints on what we can do during a renovation. We could've maybe placed the shower door entrance near the shower control but with the toilet there, it's just not enough space. Lot of little details we have to think about but great point you brought up!
Thank you! I create the design using cabinets that are available from the vendor and email those detailed drawings to a kitchen designer to quote it out. It's a mixture of both since they are the experts in kitchen cabinets (sometimes they give out recommendations) and I know what the clients want, so we naturally work together. Also I am the one that provides the measurements since I go to the sites and measure everything out.
Hi Sandra !! Really impressed about the video.I’m an Interiors designer as well, may I know the application you used to draw these drawings? And will it support to ipad?
Wow, very well put. There's so many details to account for. I didn't realize how much thought gets put in the process. Great video! 👍🏼
Thank you! Yes, sooo many details and items we need to take in consideration to create these lovely drawings ☺️

I love your teaching style! Did you work with a kitchen designer or did you create this design, measurements and all?

Where can I get 3d models like those other than Sketchup 3D warehouse?

How do you find the exact items for your projects?! Im learning this process
in terms of sketchup modeling or sourcing? I have a list of vendors I work with and that's how I find the exact items. Hope that helps!
