Awesome work as always mate, do you know if its possible to be part of 2 modding projects at once, cause id love to be involved in this, but im currently a LD in BS Atmora and dont want to just leave them
Awesome work burns! Was wondering if you could tell me what music you have playing during the dungeon preview. Is it skyblivion ost or music of your own choice? Either way amazing design, you really breathed new life into this dungeon.
Specifically around the 10.40 mark.
Do you know if this is still possible? Would like to contribute some work
damn, that was some pretty damn amazing detail in your dungeon, but i noticed that your frames were struggling a little bit when you turned your mouse into other directions, maybe it's time to learn how to do culling so that the game only picks up objects of what you are looking at instead of the entire dungeon where the frame loss happens.
but damn that dungeon looks amazing and really creates the feeling of an long since forgotten past history location that holds ancient secrets that are mysterious and scary, i want to know more about this location, but i understand why you didn't give away too much detail, so when we finally do get to play this mod, it will all be fresh and amazing to play.
A great example of what you can learn when someone puts in the time and effort. Joining the team is possible for anyone willing to try💪🏻
It is especially great for people who want to get into Gamedesign/leveldesign etc, they can learn get experience for later jobs down the line.
Its one of my dreams to make games and such just wish i had the skill for it i defintely have the free time, patience and will to learn but yeah
I thought that the project was abandoned, there haven't been any updates on youtube in five months! Glad you guys are still on it
@@Im_Basty just fyi: the dev leads stream on twitch regularly, you can literally see the progress happen in real time. its not all on youtube :)
Where do I sign up!
Dude, your dungeon looks freaking SICK - great work!
Thanks :))
Looks like a phenomenally designed dungeon, can't wait to see what others are like.
There are many many other level designers on the team, all much more skilled then me so you're in for a treat :)
@@HeavyBurns heavy burns? more like humble Burns
@@HeavyBurns Don't ever start doing it for the money it will get in the way of creativity.
Skyblivion is going to be the best remake ever! Incredible passion and design.
Do you think modders can make new mods for the game when it's out?
@@popsbox4024 yes
skywind*
@@user-wr6dj4ib9o skywind & skyblivion* :)
At this point I think we are going to die of old age before the mod comes out.
Dude this looks AMAZING. I'm getting some real Blade of Darkness vibes from it. If the rest of Skyblivion looks as good as this, no wonder it's taking so long.
9:28 omg the shine on the sword looks siiiiiiiiiiiiick
This is amazing, I'm so hyped for Skyblivion it hurts. So much love is being put into and it really shows.
This is so incredible. Question though, is somebody overseeing what people make in the creation kit? Is there someone you just send what you have made and then judges if the team will implement things you make? How does that look?
The team has department leads which are in charge of going through and reviewing claims before they are implemented, typically if a level designer has an interest in claiming a specific interior they will inform the interior lead, create it in creation kit and then send the plugin back for review to be merged :)
so they got a good structure when it comes to implementing these into the mod when they are all merged in.
@@user-tp5yb4hr4w Naturally yes.
@@stannisbaratheon6637
that's at least nice.
i was asking a modder if he could essentially do the same thing to make it easier to install for folks who aren't as adept in installing the more complicated mods, and he essentially said it was impossible.
it was the survival mod for FO4.
i found that kind of weird because there are loads and loads of additions of mods that have been simplified by merging all of the needed assets into one master file for ages now, but idk much about modding and so i could be wrong about this because it was a more complicated setup.
it has like 5 or 6 seperate mods that you needed to install in order to get the final mod to actually function properly.
i think in most cases for such a great mod, most modders that i have seen create their own survival mod, tend to create all the systems to get their mod working on their own.
like the mod for skyrim se called sunhelm survival, everything you need in order to get the mod working is in the one file, there might be some addon files, but they are optional files and aren't needed as the base mod handles everything else.
@@user-tp5yb4hr4w were all those 6 mods made by the same modder?
If not, I can see why this particular modder would not merge them, he would need the authorization of the other modders.
Holy crap this is amazing. This is definitely the sort of place I'd clear out first then go back and walk around just taking in the atmosphere, most likely set up a small camp to rest for the day in the big chamber with the waterfall and broken ceiling - place a bedroll somewhere out of sight, have a seat in a spot with a nice view, munch on some apples, take a swig of ale and just relax, soak it all in. Maybe take care of the equipment in the meantime or patch some wounds or even just read a book enjoying the ambience.
Can't wait for skyblivion to come out! Unfortuantely I'm already applying as a volunteer for beyond skyrim: morrowind and not really as a location maker but rather a writer, nevertheless I'm very impressed with your work and can't wait to see it all come to life!
Awesome video, the dungeon looks great! I can't get over how pristine and detailed the assets for the dungeons are...
I lend a lot of credit to those assets yeah, really helps to allow you to create most ideas you have. Theyre really really good
You talking about the interiors you worked on at the beginning was a major nostalgia trip!! This all looks awesome HB!! I am so looking forward to playing through all of this when Skyblivion comes out 😊
haha was fun going back and filming some stuff for those interiors :)) You know if i could actually stick to the plans that i set out i could actually make some more on stream when i finally find the time XD but video making has just sapped up so much of my time lately rip
@@HeavyBurns No worries!! You've been releasing a lot of videos lately and I know you put SO much time into editing. Don't beat yourself up too much if everything doesn't go according to plan perfectly! 😄
Amazing job Burns! You have a knack for level design. I can really see your creative thought process throughout. This definitely makes me want to try and pick up the creation kit and help out to give more life to my favorite game and a game I have never played because I'm waiting for it to come out on my favorite game as a mod lol.
Thanks sm Chris! And yeah you definetly should give it a try, its easier then it might look. And hey, if its not for you then its not for you but no harm in trying :)
Brilliant, exceptional and outstanding work. Thank you team Skyblivion for all your hard work. I can hardly wait to play this game and spend thousands of hours immersed in my journeys. Thank you! 😎
It looks fantastic. I'm looking forward to having a go at the finished mod in the future.
didnt know you worked for the skyblivion team
Irony right? Right?
This looks really nice. You're very good at dungeon crafting! I've always wanted to learn the creation club, just never got that far. One of those things I suppose.
Thankyou! And yeah it was always on my to-do list as well. I just needed a reason to do so, which is why Skyblivion is so awesome :)
I can never get enough of that JFK speech at the start of the video
Damn that's a proper, great dungeon. I wish Bethesda could actually make unique dungeons like this one, not their usual corridors filled with nothing. And these assets are incredible too :O
So, this is just a thought I had; it's not intended to pock holes or make light of your efforts, but at 6:41 the pillars that are there around the water and statue, especially the broken ones. I get that it's a way to depict the environments age, but I've been seeing it everywhere lately with the skyblivion project and some other games and media I've been looking at, but my point is, WHY are these pillars HERE and HOW did they breakdown? It's easy to make a ton of clutter in an environment, but it's hard to make it look like a natural progression of time taking its toll. One thing I thought of that doesn't necessarily fix the two problems I've brought up, but it's something I noticed immediately is that the pillars that are broken it seems that the bottom portions of which are just missing and that doesn't quite make sense they wouldn't likely dissolve in stagnant water and even if it could it'd still be a sizable piece of stone, you could fix that small inconsistency by just placing a few chunks of broken pillar in or along the water side roughly where the pillars are now. I don't think these are huge problems, but I've been playing, and looking forward to, a game called Baldur's gate 3 which is currently in early access, and I've seen some visual "inconsistencies" there too, aside from bugs of course, my point is small, but I think many people notice these things, but choose to just let them slip or just glaze over them without much care either way I think it'd lend something grounding if you added an extra layer of planning when it comes to future mapping projects. Especially, the WHY something is HERE/THERE, HOW did it end up like this, and WHAT can you make that seems "natural." Sorry, for the long comment. I just wanted to make my thoughts available. :D I'd actually really like to discuss other things too if anyone is interested in this kind of stuff.
Lots of game designers put rubble everywhere, but there is nothing around that this rubble could come from. The surrounding area is intact.
@@Lavourrin Yeah, that was one of the main points I was trying to get to. I understand that it's meant to show age or how dilapidated something is, but if it doesn't make intuitive sense then people can take notice subconsciously taking the player out of the immersion of a location. Honestly, I'm fairly positive that Vanilla Skyrim and Oblivion does it all over the place, though remembering back I think Oblivion just had less clutter all together presumably to limitations then again I haven't play that one nearly as much. Either way, I think it'd lend a great deal of "realism" and immersion to the environments if one takes the time to ask why something is the way it is rather than placing it out of some sort of artistic decision. That being said, I don't want to at all wreck anyone's ideas artistic choices just to further investigate why something might be the way it is. I mentioned this to my father who's also interested in building and creating things and one of the immediate questions he had for same spot at 6:41 was where the light sources were emanating from especially the one along the water and the statue itself, the water in the previous version was far darker than the latter.
This is so cool!
When those portcullis came down around the player! Great work man!
One thing that I wish you could implement would be drops from the overground into a dungeon where there are holes in a dungeon ceiling. Would so good to be strolling through the woods then bam dropping into a necromancer lair mid ceremony 💀
Maybe in creation engine 2 👀 (looking at you Starfield)
@@HeavyBurns is it theoretically possible? The cave entrance mechanic doesn't involve activating a door, would it be possible to create a hole in the terrain with a brief fall in the overworld that ended in the cave entrance mechanic, then it spawned you in the ceiling of whatever cave you were falling into?
@@thechieftain21 wow.
@@thechieftain21 That should be quite easy. The actual teleport is at most a very simple script; I use something similar in the mod I am currently working on. The challenge is designing the hole in the exterior worldspace in a way that looks good since you need to lower the terrain for the shaft.
Knew about this project snice 2016 and still waiting patiently. Great work, guys!
What a fantastic idea! Great work
Bravo, absolutely beautiful. I'm so looking forward to this. And Iay have to give the creation kit a go.
Your channel has been a favourite of mine for a long while, and as someone trying to learn level design for the Creation Kit myself, mad respect 💫
I can't wait for Skyblivion.
The Fort looks amazing. Nice work.
Thankyou!
I cannot express how excited I am for Skyblivion given that Oblivion is my favorite game of all time and the project looks absolutely phenomenal all I want to do is just run around in it I dont care if the quests arent done yet or theres a ton of bugs or incomplete areas...I just wanna run around jumping on rocks like Ive spent so many hours doing in the real Oblivion
that's impressive to watch you go from some bare rooms to a whole dungeon, keep up the good work skyblivion is honestly something I'm looking forward to as I love oblivion but can never get it working right on pc and the console version sucks. plus, whom doesn't want an updated better looking and preforming oblivion.
Amazing work! Can't wait to get a chance to play through this when it comes out.
Really amazing work! This really makes me want to try and hop back into the creation kit again :)
This looks great, we are greatful to have people like you working on this, thank you !
Wait so you work on skyblivion? Damn Great job. Didn't know you were part of the team :)
He’s helped them with several of their recent trailers too!
Yep been making their dev diaries for them for a while, recently helping with development too :)
Genuinely thinking of joining on the project. Thanks for the video!
10:35 that was beautiful! Amazing work, thanks for doing this.
Dude, looks sick! Nice job!
Thanks!
Damn dude, this is amazing stuff!
this is genuinely amazing. great job!!!
Thanks!
Lovely work on this dungeon, thanks for your time and efforts!
:)
@@HeavyBurns I feel like you could maybe issue a challenge to other TES content creators and get each of them to do a POI the same way you did with this beautiful fort. I know there are many. Maybe that would help spur content development for this amazing mod. Pretty sure your video alone has sparked the interest in my better half and she's looking to now apply. Imagine the greater TES content creator community doing this same thing on their channels too!
I can't even imagine the amount of effort you must have used to make this, truly amazing! Looking forward to this remake and kudos to you and everyone else involved! o7
I am so looking forward to playing through this!
Shoutout to everyone taking their time and helping out with this amazing project
Always looking forwards for these videos, they're so high quality!
ikr
Great stuff!
What a fantastic way to combine your content and promotion, hopefully this makes even more people help out the big projects.
Very cool! Looks like a creative and well made dungeon with a unique personality. Can't wait to see how this turns out :)
Looks awesome !
I cannot wait for this project!
I'm literally more excited for skyblivion than I am for ES VI right now. Anyone else??
TESVI is just an urban legend at this point
I haven't been excited for ES6 since Skyrim first released, back in 2011. The only reason I even put so many hours into Skyrim in the first place was the mods, and I'm willing to bet that, unless there is some massive shakeup with Bethesda, it's gonna stay that way when ES6 finally hits. But Skywind and Skyblivion? My favourite ES game and Oblivion, both remastered by people who actually remember what made those games good? Yeah, definitely excited on that front.
Well obviously. There is no news about the next TES. That would change once they release footage.
@@mortemtyrannus8813 Bethesda is the reason you have these games as great modable foundations.
@@raskolnikov6443 And Bethesda is also the reason these "games" are only good as modding foundations nowadays. Skyrim was shit. It still is shit. Same with Fallout 4. Mods are what made those games good. Mods which, I might add, are not creations of Bethesda themselves, but of the fans of these worlds. I called Morrowind my favourite ES game, and that has less than a quarter of the mods Skyrim has on the Nexus alone (nearly 10k for MW compared to 70k for Oldrim and 55k for SSE), and yet MW was the first game Bethesda released with their modding tools.
Seriously, don't try to defend Bethesda on the grounds of great mods. A good game shouldn't need mods, they should be something the fans make to make a good game better.
I really appreciate you demystifying this process, winter is coming up and I'd love to have a bit more command over the game. Maybe I'll put in some practice and work on a level. Absolutely love your content, it's very obvious how much work you put in and I'm glad it doesn't go unnoticed.
CHECK OUT THE ARCANE UNIVERSITY! Its a discord server with teachers and assignments from beyond skyrim, you will definitely learn the skills you need on that server!
Another awesome piece of work from a collective that’s produced nothing but excellent work to date. It’s great to see some of the ‘beige’ Oblivion locations getting this kind of treatment. This makes me want to go back into them on repeat playthroughs. 👌
amazing work on the design, beautifully done. 🤩
Thankyou!
Shor's bones, a handsome dungeon in Oblivion
I am already so excited. Amazing job Heavy Burns
Great work Dude!
Thanks :))
Just as I was thinking of taking the plunge into modding for the first time, this comes out. Fortuitous timing.
Looks amazing dude!! Can’t wait to play 🥰
Thanks :))
Beautiful work!
Wow, I will admit that this is fantastic and beautiful.
I am greatly surprised on the Skyblivion Project, Once It releases I can certainly agree I'll be looking forward to seeing your dungeon in game.
Awesome work!
Thanks :)
This is both amazing and awesome!
I have 0 interest in playing Skyblivion, but your TN made me click and I'm so lucky I did! How you only have 114k subs with the editing skills and story telling ability is mind-boggling. Best of luck with your channel and I hope to see more of your work in my feed!
looks fantastic dude!
Dude, this is incredible!!!
Thanks man :)
Would love to see more content similar to this! Great work dude!
Thanks! :))
Very nice, cant wait to explore it.
HAventh had sweeter morning cofee in a long time. incredible rework, and very good video direction :) well done !
that is an absolutly top notch quality dungeon mate!
Great dungeon! Really fits in well. I hope you had fun navmeshing ;)
This is honestly amazing
You're doing so much for this project - I didn't even know I could help with my only elementary knowledge of C++, Python, and Java in Linux.
This is incredible. The atmoshere improvement of the dungeon compared to Oblivion is off the charts ( especially that boss tease at the end of the preview oof). Honestly, I might consider giving Creation Kit a go seeing how easy you make it seem while still producing some banger level design.
This looks so damn good, great work.
Thanks :))
awesome!
It's beyond amazing 😍
God, I wish I had the time to help with the project. Hell. I've got a Bachelors in animation. Unfortunately with my full time job, doing d&d prep as a dungeon master, and studying for my Comptia A+ certs, I'm full up.
nice touch on the sneak behind bit at the start i like it.
Looking great!
:)
I'm going to cry once this game is out. Also wow you really added life to the dungeon well done
Oh wow - this looks amazing, and I'd LOVE to learn the Creation Kit! Definitely going to start building some player homes.....
Thanks! Hopefully will be seeing you around shortly then :))
Cool. Thanks for sharing.
That light shaft cutting through the main hall of the fort really makes the plant life and stonework pop out. It looks great.
Heavy Burns actually learning the CK will do so much for his editing and overall video production. Imagine a movie director going from the need to use borrowed places and parking lots to being able to craft his own movie set just the way he likes. That's what just happened.
I'm thrilled to see what comes of this.
This was sooo cool i loved that level design. I used to build houses in the morrowind creation kit and within the game itself back whdn i still haf a working gaming pc. I wish i still did, i would love to be able to build something like this that others can enjoy as well. I will get it fixed at some point when i can and then i want to give this a go. This video did give me hope that anyone can help with this project.
That is insane!!! From a lonely watch tower to a fully fledged fort/castle you did an amazing job.
The only thing I'd do differently would be to add more ivy outside of the castle to show overgrowth and maybe a hole or two in the roof as it looks too well maintained.
But regardless of my 2 cents, Its awesome👍🏻
This is awesome more videos like this please
that's great work!
Amazing stuff, looks outstanding!
This looks so sick
This dungeon looks like it has a lot of stories about it. It looks so cool. In fact, better than other dungeons I have ever seen in Skyrim.
I also like the fact that it has hidden areas and passages and not just a single linear path. I like that you have the options and freedom of how to approach some areas. Great idea.
This is amazing work man. I know it's a big project and possibly won't even be out until Elder Scrolls 6 is out; which sucks but of course is understandable. I know all you people are working on this for free. I just want to say how appreciative I am of every one of you that is working on this project. It's because of you all, the modding community, that I have had countless hours of fun playing Skyrim. You could also say countless hours of escaping the woes of life. Thanks again
The brick floor at 6:13 is so impressive
Holy shit, bro. Fantastic work you did! Now it would be a crime to leave this place without a quest.
Itll have a short story to solve dont worry :))
@@HeavyBurns ❤
I wouldn't have been surprised to see a dungeon like this in Tomb Raider or something. If every dungeon in Skyblivion manages to be as good as you made this one, It's going to be an astonishingly good time.
AMAZING work. Really that's so good!
I really need to know the ambient music playing in the gameplay section please. I love it.
I've not been playing videogames lately.. Slyblivion is the only game i'm hyped for and looking forward to spend +300 h playing it. Great job!
the ruins at the bottom of the water are such a cool touch! i would really like to see more underwater exploration in TES games! :)
This looks amazing
You guys are truly elevating Oblivion
well done! :D
