It’s quite impressive how powerful her voice and stage presence is and at 4’11” True talent isn’t taught; it’s God given! There will never be anyone who will ever have what she had! She can even outshine the Beatles and Elvis to where they would be her opening act! lol
My goodness, do I ever agree with everything you just said! Sinatra said long after all the stars of that time are long dead, gone and forgotten, Judy would be the only one who’d forever be remembered. And he was so right!
This is the first performance where I can see how tiny she was. She's always bigger than life but she looks very, very tiny here; HOWEVER, she looks and sounds GREAT, as always!
It's great to see Judy Garland performing. She looks quite young -- younger than her actual age at this time. The sound quality of this old video does not capture the full extent of her beautiful voice, however. This shortcoming is noticeable even when Gene Kelly is speaking. But this is from an old source that may have been compromised by the way things were stored long ago.
this may be a really weird thing to say but I have never looked at Judy and thought 'oh my christ she's short' until now. I've always known she's 4ft11 and been a fan for decades but she's alway just looked like a normal average height, but here.... I dunno if it's the camera angle or what but for the first time to me she actually looks microscopic
You're not imagining things. Judy was, indeed, 4'11", and in her films and on her series, the director and cameraman were careful to keep the camera low and aim up a little to give her height. Here, on this show, Judy had no such protection.
Wish the Academy had given her an Oscar at the end of this- bravo, Judy!
