Here I go watching Judy again. Oy. This is becoming a ritual of mine. That voice is so powerful. Her every move is raw emotion. Here I am in another year still watching Judy. She's so fantastic.
Man even when she thought she was being bad she was being brilliant What a genius I *love* the clown outfit at the end - how they couldnt make this show work is beyond me
Her wit is spellbinding.Just when you're laughing about a flub and before you've finished she hits you with another.I never saw the likes of it and I've been a judy fan since the 60's.Gawd I miss her.
I can't stop binge watching all of these "supposed" mistake out takes of Judy's TV shows! God, she was so good here....so funny and natural and so talented. If only any of today's talent could even begin to approach the greatness of these shows, our world would be a much happier place full of love and laughter. These episodes are simply hilarious! Bless you for posting these wonderful shows.
The way she pulls the audience in for each "mistake" is the fascinating part. She apologizes to the studio audience and makes them laugh -- even though she realizes it will never be seen by the public. A true professional all the way. Thanks for posting this!!!
I love how she just ran with it. lol she literally told her life story and her opinion of those running and ruining her life. confessions of a child star all the while laughing at the mess. entertaining sure, all the while completely tragic.
you know, Judy was one of the Best Performers there ever was, but its a shame that with all these good times we see here, she really didn't get to enjoy life the way we are supposed to. still, i think she was one of the best!
She once said when asked to sing BORN IN A TRUNK...."Born in a Trunk takes 4 days to sing!" One can see why here - too tough a medley to do with a live audience and a live orchestra - she handled it with humor very nicely, but I don't think this particular medley, though brilliant on film in A STAR IS BORN, was an appropriate choice here - was it ever completed for the TV series? All in all though her TV series was excellent!
Judy was eating like a horse during the time she did the show. The problem was her being so terribly overmedicated. She was, despite legend, a happy spirit who was amused by her reputation as tragic but she had for so long lost control over her medications and lost track of her medications it wrecked havoc on her health. She did love the way she looked for the show. It has always been ironic her brilliant show was a flop and is now a worshiped legend, which we all figured it would become.
CBS head honcho James Aubrey, an odious character, hated the show and never gave it a chance or moved it out of competition with Bonanza. Like MGM, CBS drove her into the ground with a weekly hour show instead of several "event" specials. No other performer in TV history produced so many hours of brilliance. What was once scorned as an embarrassing flop is now recognized as the work of a genius.
@rondogg9 Yes, a majority of male fans are gay. try looking up one of her earlier performances like the man that got away in a star is born, that song is usually the one that hooks people.
Sorry Judy I was UPSET at you I didn't mean to be cruel I was inside of you I didn't really want to say the wrong word I just wanted you to take a vacation I remember this very well. I love you Judy.
Great chance to watch the duet rehearsal with Darin-they sound great together. Garland’s impish sense of humor comes out during the various flubbed takes, too. But that clown-thing at the end is scary as hell, and only partially due to the creepy outfit. JG was in bad shape on that night, whenever it was. Voice in tatters, physically frail, looking/seeming strung-out. Not a good idea for a number or costume in the first place. You can tell she’s trying hard, but appears ready to jump out of her skin. Baby Jane-level messed up. Sad to see her in that condition. She was the greatest all-around talent ever to emerge from Hellywood and deserved far better treatment than she ever got from studios, directors, HUSBANDS, agents, and, ultimately, from herself.
If you read the biographies the TV run was certainly not a happy time Judy was in the last years of her life, she was calling people in the night unable to sleep and cutting herself for attention and (if Mel Torme is to be believed - which is doubtful) she was hospitalised during the run to have her stomach pumped and nearly died from the overdose All on top of the pressures of rehearsing and ratings wars and a chaotic personal life
its a myth that her fans are all gay she sold more records than Elvis & broke box office records & filled theaters of 18,000 seats & more they are not enough gay men alive to keep up that level of success its a statistical impossibility she's a gay icon but she was PRIMARILY America's sweetheart all her life its hard now to imagine how adored Garland was by the American public the gay thing is over done - Sinatra's fans were primarily straight men - how come no-one obsesses about that??
I agree Nothing he says rings true and the stories that are sensational happen only when he and Judy are in the room (cutting herself, swearing, attacking him threatening suicide) He wrote that crap book for money - he was an ego-maniac and a creep the footage on youtube where he behaves so smart-assed and disrespectfully towards Garland makes me sick - he is so obviously over-compensating because he knows he is out of his league singing with her so he tries to put her down GRRRR!!!
Yes I was inside of her and upset she wouldn't take a vacation, like she said and so I messed up all her words I didn't mean too yet I loved her too as she was part of me and I her. Sorry world it wasn't her messing up it was me. Judy and me. 2017 reiteration from me. I love you mama, or Dorothy in the middle of the sister picture three. They were my royalty too.
Here I go watching Judy again. Oy. This is becoming a ritual of mine. That voice is so powerful. Her every move is raw emotion. Here I am in another year still watching Judy. She's so fantastic.
Ditto 🙄 Her talent, her character, her roles, her story... Her voice 👏
I’m another one who watches Judy regularly!
She is a Goddess. She is perfect even when she's not.
Man even when she thought she was being bad she was being brilliant What a genius
I *love* the clown outfit at the end - how they couldnt make this show work is beyond me
All these idiots had to do was move het show to a different time slot. Her show was great, but it couldn't compete with Bonanza.
for such a small frame she sure had a powerful voice.
4'11, a tiny creature ... legs and lungs ...
Like Piaf.
"Come on Judy, Lindsay, stop that." That part is HILARIOUS!!!!!!! I LOVE JUDY
Her wit is spellbinding.Just when you're laughing about a flub and before you've finished she hits you with another.I never saw the likes of it and I've been a judy fan since the 60's.Gawd I miss her.

Amy Winehouse
The talent is breathtaking - and, my God, what a pro.
The way she pulls the audience in for each "mistake" is the fascinating part. She apologizes to the studio audience and makes them laugh -- even though she realizes it will never be seen by the public. A true professional all the way. Thanks for posting this!!!
What an incredible talent!!!
Look at that figure! On her CBS series she looks show after show like a high fashion model.

Oh my God, that "Suppertime" segment is absolutely hysterical, from 3:00 to 3:40!

Gorgeous! Pure talent. Professional. Fabulous.
I couldn't agree more. The best of the best, through and through.
Your series might just be the most incredible artifacts ever posted here on YT but of course I'm unabashedly biased. Many many thanks!!!

SUPERB......hehehehehe... marvelous showbiZZZ.....!!!! wish we can have all this natural stuff in the NOW shows..
well I dont usually watch outtakes to get an idea of anyone's talent....
So tiny and fragile.
And so funny and smart.
Judy was eating like a horse during the time she did the show. The problem was her being so terribly overmedicated. She was, despite legend, a happy spirit who was amused by her reputation as tragic but she had for so long lost control over her medications and lost track of her medications it wrecked havoc on her health. Thanks Aloha from Hawaii!

She's amazing. Drugs really messed her up.
And then it was all over ! Here's to us ended her tv series !
This was very sad I wish they helped her instead of use her
Haha what did she exactly say at 2:16
Sorry Judy I was UPSET at you I didn't mean to be cruel I was inside of you I didn't really want to say the wrong word I just wanted you to take a vacation I remember this very well. I love you Judy.
Thanks. :D
what song was she going to sing at 5:20?
Amber Stankoff your comment was 7 years ago,& yet I’m here wondering the same thing but haven’t been able to figure it out yet
hahahahaha Judy the best!!!
she was funny!
yeh what does she say at 2:18???
These were some of the first signs the meds were no longer a plus as they had been for years….
@BluebirdTV do you have full episodes you can post?

3:25 - 3:47
She loved being funny..They rarely let her be..they just wanted her to sing..

All on top of the pressures of rehearsing and ratings wars and a chaotic personal life
So maybe to have the show cancelled at this time was a God-send. She needed to stop
its a myth that her fans are all gay
she sold more records than Elvis & broke box office records & filled theaters of 18,000 seats & more
they are not enough gay men alive to keep up that level of success
its a statistical impossibility
she's a gay icon but she was PRIMARILY America's sweetheart all her life

the gay thing is over done - Sinatra's fans were primarily straight men - how come no-one obsesses about that??
She may have sold more records than Elvis Costello, but not Elvis Presley!
Perhaps because many gay men identify with her struggles.
I agree
