Hope the special effects/CGI/VFX part of the process in making this magnificent Ann Rice story come to life will do it justice. I do have some reservations after watching this video.
I read these books. I was surprised by Ann Rices comments after they were written, she stated that she did not know anything about witches and that she did no research into them for the books. Upon reading them I realized that the witchcraft was very subtle and almost implied. Lasher is an inherited being, not a witch and not conjured by one. The complexity of a huge family filled with characters true to Southern traditions of eccentricity seemed the central focus. It will be interesting to see the rendition of these stories. I hope that they don't try to make them into a magic fest when the books were more sinister and foreboding, a mystery unfolding more and more. The lush descriptions of New Orleans were immersive and it is clear that Ms Rice truly loved this city.
Amc+I love what your doing With the Immortal Universe. Keep Alexandra Daddario No matter what for the whole series it will help. And that goes for Sam as Lestat as well. LONG LIVE THE IMMORTAL UNIVERSE!

I probably gonna enjoy this more than IWTV coz I haven’t read the books. The changes bugged me a lot tbh. I know it will cross over . Well let’s see. It might gonna be a mess like TWD Was after a while.
Umm, it's Anne Rice. I'm HERE. FOR. IT.!!!! So glad her books are making it to the screen (again), and I hope she got to approve everything to her satisfaction (not sure when it was filmed or if she'd already Passed). She made supernatural writing/genre rise to heights far from where it was when she began publishing.... Soooo excited for this!!!
As an Anne Rice devotee - a Mayfair Witches series WITHOUT Michael Curry & Aaron Lightner is NOT the "Mayfair Witches". The entire POINT, the most major point of the entire series, was that Lasher needed Rowen and Michael to meet, for her to get pregnant so that Lasher could come through. But let's just eliminate both of them, make Cortland a major player when he was nothing more than a side character in the books, and make a TV series. This is why books adapted to TV are usually totally different stories. And usually NOT as entertaining. I've waited decades for this, now I don't think I can bring myself to watch it. Thanks for ruining a great story by TOTALLY rewriting it!
I have the same reaction. I'm usually pretty open to the changes made in these adaptations as long as the story holds true to the fictional characters. Leaving out Michael and Aaron seems to be laying out the groundwork for a different story and how can you tell the story of the Mayfair Witches without either of them. Be interesting to see if they get away with it or if it's going to bite them in the tush when the show airs. Plus, I can't for the life of me, figure out why anyone would have the thought 'Deirdre Mayfair - let's get Annabeth Gish for the role.'
@@justlilyanne I read somewhere the new character is supposed to be an amalgam of Michael & Aaron but that makes no sense either because the entire history of the Mayfair family is told when Michael READS the Talamasca file & starts to realize Lasher's part & his in the tale. Just like I couldn't watch their Lestat show either. I, for one, will be saving my money on this streaming service. If I want to see her work butchered again, I'll re-watch the Queen of the Damned.
@@justlilyanne Oh, her name is also wrong. They call her Rowen Fielding. The major part of the Legacy is the women are ALWAYS known by Mayfair. The necklace was wrong, it was never in the shape of a key. It was a square cut emerald in gold filigree & Rowen is BLONDE. Rice was very specific about that because it contrasts with her birth mother. If we can pick the major differences in a TRAILER, how much did they butcher the material in this joke of a production?
@@randalllaue4042 like I said, I wasted my money to see Queen of the Damned in theaters - another movie that re-wrote her book. Not wasting money to see it happen again.
Lol ad the stupid part is they took Anne Rice's cool, confident, and brilliant lead female character and made her into a fidgety wild eyed person who couldn't even put together a sentence without trembling. I literally laughed out loud at the "incantation scene"... didn't need to be changed from the original English version and that a DOCTOR couldn't pronounce Latin? Like come on....
If Rowan can do all that split the blood vessels etc... if she can get into someone's physique in that way and do that. I just wished that she would've thought 'maybe I can get into my mum's physique and try to find the cancer cells and kill it?'... based on her brilliance as a neurosurgeon etc etc etc, she could have thought to do that and use that 'power' of her that she got. Granted, she only just found out about this 'monstrous power', but after happening a few times, as well as having that brilliance of a neurosurgeon, its not illogical to think that she couldv'e even remotely thought of 'maybe I could get to the cancer cells and kill them all'... just sayin. Other than that, no matter how different its story is from the OG Books, as a general public who isnt into reading the books, I am accepting this for what it is. Its just an adaptation, its not 100% accurate to the source material.... Do You Even Know anything live action that has 100% copy from the source material? LOGICALLY, no.
