Se supone que Osman se casó con Mal Hatun en 1280 y con Bala en 1290,( siempre se dijo eso )un año después de cada matrimonio tuvo a sus hijos, teniendo dos esposas es obvio que Alaeddin jamás pudo nacer antes que Orhan si sus padres se casaron cuando él ya era un niño grande. Siendo que Bala solo tuvo un hijo, entonces se entiende que ese matrimonio fue con fines políticos, ella se fue con su padre luego de diez años de casada, murió cerca de su padre.
