- We you how we bought a boat in this video!! Episode 3 of our series of sailing around the world. We sailed in the Seychelles a couple years ago on a Lagoon 42 catamaran, and guess what we ended up buying!
We vlog our sailing adventure round the world trip from the beginning, so you can learn and experience this with us. Enjoy!
I must admit, some of our inspiration comes from Sailing La Vagabonde, Sailing Zatara, Sailing Holly Blue, and World Towning.. although we've been talking about sailing around the world for about 3 years now.. it suddenly is coming a lot closer, and fast!!

You can thread the bottom of the net through a stainless steel rod cut to length and that will make it much harder for anything to slip under the net. You can tie the middle of the net to that middle line also. But it's good that you put up the net. Practice deck safety with the kids until they know it so well they do it automatically. Practice day and night. Make sure they know how to use a fire extinguisher.

Beautiful boat. Your family has lots of mind expanding, eye opening adventures, and yet to be made, amazing memories to come. Not wanting to seem negative, but did you have her surveyed, and was their any mention of bulkhead or rig tension problems ?
Hi William, thanks so much for your comment, we are surely excited for adventures to come! Yes we had a licensed surveyor inspect for us and no problems were found. I've also done a separate video on the issue, I'll put the link here. Is it something you have any experience with? (In a way I hope not of course 😉)

@@DutchSailingFamily Hi, thanks for that. I have no personal experience with the Lagoon. I have spent as much time as possible on the water but always on Monohulls. Several offshore trips would probably add up to about 30000 nautical miles. 95% of the time pure enjoyment and 5% sheer panic. I have lots of great memories of time spent at sea and the countless countries and anchorages we stopped at. My only knowledge of the lagoon bulkhead issue came from Colin on Parley Revival and watching the repair process he went through. Safety first especially with the kids aboard. There are many families sailing around the world and I will enjoy following your adventures. :-)

Hi Stackasaurus! It's a 2008 Lagoon 420 catamaran. So it's 42 feet long.. We love it for it's living space. It sacrifices some sailing performance but we are very happy with the balance!
