I love being able to identify stitches now. The stitch used on the outside of the stocking is called a blanket stitch!

Blanket stitch is one of my favorites tbh. It’s so useful and pretty without having to take the time to hide the thread :P I’m also partial to the ladder stitch, I use it a lot for repairs it’s just so nifty!

When I was first learning to sew I discovered the blanket stitch by accident, and I loved how it looked. I excitedly showed my mom, who told me what it was called.
I'm not a professional by any means, and I generally just make up different stitches as I go, though I'm very sure I haven't invented any new ones.😅

I honestly really love that you opted to do a little mini-series like this! As much as I absolutely adore your doll customizations, I also fully understand they can be very time consuming projects and something that would be hard to take on around the holidays. Especially now that you're a new mom! I honestly wasn't expecting to see a new video until the new year for that reason, which I would have been fully okay with, so I'm glad to see that you still found the time to enjoy the holidays and still make content for us ❤️

My mom makes a felt stocking for every new addition to our immediate family. My last sibling got married and now I find my stocking hanging out by it's lonesome. They may not be ready by Christmas this year, but I'm going to make some mini stockings for my three "children" aka cats to keep mine company.

What a cute idea! When you talked about your mom making stockings, it reminded me of how my grandmother hand-knitted stockings for all of her kids and grandkids. Even though I transitioned with a different name, I still have mine.
My favorite part is that instead of saying "I do a blanket stitch" for the edges you actually just explain how to DO a blanket stitch.

Oh my God I just thought of a great idea for any doll artists with kids! If you have kids, you could make them each a holiday doll, stockings, and then put little bits and bobs in it and then every year your kids can set up their holiday doll, and get something mini to put in their doll stocking!
With my birthday being the 12th, I'm at that middle point of the month where I'm already tired of "Christmas cheer" but i do like crafts, so I'm all in for Craftmas!

CUTE! I love this idea! I want to try the green one, too bad Nightmare before Christmas never had any miniature stockings, GASP Nightmare Before Christmas stockings YES!
Orange & Black felt, paint a pumpkin, witch hat, cat, owl, spider, bad, any spooky mark on the orange felt then use black thread for the face & lines, use either black or white thread sew the stocking together, & you got a Halloween Stocking!

My mom made our stockings as children! My brother's was froma kit, it's anta with a bag of felt toys! But mine is all home made, with a reindeer, and light blue and pink felt, and my name was in glitter glue so it has ling since worn off! I love it, my mom's reaction is, that's what you wanted(she is not always appreciative of my volor combinations).
This is so cool, and wonderfully simple. I will be trying this for my dolls!! Can't wait to see the rest of your videos for this!!

aw I love the idea of slowly decorating the set throughout! so excited to see what will get added! you're going to keep us content fed and happy for a while haha, I hope to see more mini projects from you between bigger ones overall even when craftsmas is over (though do take a break, I'm sure coming up with all the different crafts and doing them took a lot of work!)
I believe that stitch is called a blanket stitch, or is a slightly modified version of one, but don't hold me to it c: I used to do that one in sewing class when I was a kid rather than the 'required' stitches because I thought it looked pretty, so seeing it kind of gives me an odd sense of nostalgia haha

The edge stitch you used is called the blanket stitch, commonly used to reinforce blanket edges back in the day. It looks very cute for appliques as well.
