Me too Russell Hello! Great memories!
Glad you found our little gem of a town. It's kind of a secret. Not many find us. I wish you had found a local to walk you through our little world. Ypu missed alot of it. And hello Patrick. Your soul shined through. ♥️
We enjoyed it very much there. I’m pretty sure we’ll be back at some point.
Wow!
Expensive!
Another cool little town, thanks! Ole Patric has the right idea, wish there were more like him. 60 something degrees sounds wonderful! It was 84° here at 3:30 this morning. Sinclair gas station brings back memories too, 1st one i remember here had gas in the .30's
Tom this is really a great place to spend some time in. This time of the year is perfect. Yeah Patrick is one of the good ones. It’s funny because Mike gave me the elephant but it belong to Patrick. Lol Enjoying our time here so far. Another abandon motel on the next one. Happy Father’s Day! Hope you have a great weekend.
We are going there tomorrow for two nights on the way to Colorado Springs. Looking forward to seeing the town. What type of camera are you using?
You’ll enjoy it. Breathtaking views all around. Stop at the Mountain Mermaid Brewery there. Their pizza is pretty damn good for not being a pizza place. I use my GoPro 10 as well as my iPhone 14 max pro. Enjoy your visit.

My sister used to live in La Veta very close to the 1899 Inn. She lives in Walsenburg now. I know a lot about his area and I've always wanted to own land in La Veta. It's become gentrified by rich Texans though.
Great place to live if you like peace and quiet. We enjoyed it. Walsenburg is a hit and miss. Not a lot there. It’s the place to go if you need something. Not much in La Veta. It has just enough. Land there is expensive. We were looking at the real estate listings and it’s up there. Property has gone up all over not just there.
I think that was the old jail house.
Born in Walsenburg and spent sixty some years living in La Veta. It has become to sisyfied and the artsy fartsy crowd has taken over. I left.
I can totally see that. Damn 60 years! What it must have looked like back then.
I remember the summer dances in Cuchara in the 70s. Good times.
@daibando9893 wow there must have been nothing there at that time.
I was born and raised in LaVeta! It has changed a great deal. I worked restaurants, up and down LaVeta and Curcharas.
I remember Russell Keeling and now so many family and friends are gone! It is a different world. My father still lives there and he is 91 Yrs.
