This is an abridged TV adaptation of the then-current English Opera Group production. The Stage Director was Colin Graham, an important figure in Britten's opera world (and elsewhere). This was obviously done hurriedly, and of course the stage business and performances were scaled to large auditoriums, but we are fortunate to have it preserved at all.
